I waited in line for about five minutes while the old man behind the counter re-cut a key for one customer and replaced the battery in another customers watch. When it was my turn I presented him with my two bracelets. One, dainty, had a broken clasp and the other, more like a belcher bracelet, had a broken link in the chain. The man quoted me $20 to fix the belcher one and a whopping $38.95 for the broken clasp. I used to work at Lincraft where I could pick up ten clasps for $3. There was no way I would be paying more than ten times that amount. I left him with my belcher bracelet and went shopping. After half an hour I returned to pick up my bracelet. He dropped it on the counter from a height of about twenty centimetres and told me it was fixed but over the next two weeks it would likely break as another link in the chain was loose. I was infuriated. Firstly he dropped my bracelet so roughly onto the counter and secondly he was telling me about something he could have fixed in three seconds with his soldering iron. Twenty dollars was really expensive for what he had to do in the first place and he didn't even have the decency to fix another weak part of the chain for me. When I questioned him about the two weeks he hurriedly backtracked and said it might take a month to break, if I was careful. He then looked at me and said he could strengthen it now for another $20. I refused as I was so angry at the poor service. I have been to plenty of jewellery repair places that are fantastic and fix things in minutes and charge you only for the effort they put it. I didn't get good value here and I left highly unimpressed.

Awesome little shop…read more When I was getting married, I bought the gifts for my groomsmen here. I ended up going with hip flasks for them, and this place had some exceptional looking hip flasks at a not stupidly high price. So, I purchased them, had them engraved with messages explaining how much I valued their friendship (with an appropriately lewd message), picked them up quickly, and generally had a good experience with the shop and it's staff. Really good little place. Very happy with them. If you're gift shopping, be sure to have a look.

I needed a padlock engraved, and Keyhole was recommended to me. I left the lock with John? with…read morethe information to be engraved. No instructions as to what I wanted. What he did for me made me cry it was so beautiful. I wish I could leave a picture of it here. Oh, and the 30 minute estimate of time? More like 10.
