I attended a Yelp experience last month that featured Lasagna 2 Go. I had a great experience that…read moreI've been back for more. Lasagna 2 Go is located in a small mall near York University. Both visits, I dropped by after work. The mall has a parking lot. It does get a bit busy at night. I backed into a spot and took the entrance on the left to head inside. There was a huge banner that led me to this food stall. You can't miss it. This place goes get busy at dinnertime. Both times, staff were pleasant and nice. York University students and non-students alike drop by for some good, cheap eats in this mall, so it makes sense why this place is so popular. There is a special for students. Between 11 am and 1 pm, they can get the son's size lasagna for $5. It's such a steal that I almost want to be a student again for this deal only... haha! You can choose between beef or vegetable lasagna. I have now had both. It takes approximately six minutes to heat up a small (son's) size of lasagna. The medium size is the dad. You can get a double of each size, depending on your hunger pangs. I don't mind waiting for yumminess. Staff were cool to come around the counter both times to hand me my food. It was such a nice touch. During my first experience, I had ordered a caesar salad. I noticed while heading to my car that I didn't have it, so I walked back. The male staffer immediately knew and was extremely apologetic. Craziness does that to all of us. I paid with a credit card both times. It allows tapping. Paying with mine was smooth. The son's size of lasagna is generous for one person to devour. I brought my lasagna home both times. It was still warm in my insulated bag. This place does four-layer lasagna. I liked that it had the perfect amount of cheese, which made it not terribly rich. It had sliced mushrooms in it. Yes! It pleased this mushroom fan. The difference between the meat and vegetarian lasagna versions was the sauce. The meat sauce in the former was excellent. It tasted homemade. My side salad was decent. I got croutons, parmesan cheese, and Italian dressing in separate small containers. The lettuce was romaine, which made my day because it was fresh and crisp. It made me happy, Getting grab-and-go lasagna is a brilliant concept. I love the lasagna here that's made with love and care. It's yummy. This place is the perfect stop to grab takeout lasagna while heading home from the office. (38)

Followed instructions. Very easy. It's a long way to go for a dish like this. I can say, it was okay but have had better.

I have never had any issues with staff, they are always friendly and helpful. I know they don't carry all products advertised in their flyer, but it is a smaller location so it is understandable. The employee that stands out to me the most is a cashier named Marilyn. She is an employer's dream come true. Always with a smile and a friendly greeting. Remembers past conversations, such as a time I had told her of a family member who had been in the hospital, and the next time I saw her she immediately inquired as to how they were. Such a gem! Overall, I enjoy shopping here and think they are doing a great job. Will continue to shop at this location when I'm in the area happily.

I headed over into the direction by the security guard, and I didn't see anybody there, nor where there lights on by the cashier's station. So I walked back, and went to cashier # 3. Well, the chap with the greyish hair and pony-tail came rushing over and glared at me with a dirty look (if looks could kill) and pointed to the direction of his cashier station with a mean face directing me to go there. I proceeded to cash out with cashier # 3, who was very nice. I was so insulted by this guy!! The staff at Independent City Market do not treat their customers that way. Highly recommended are the skirt steaks, short ribs and the petit tender which is actually a tender cut off the chuck. Amazing for steaks at really affordable price. There is also a wide range of condiments to pair your meat with, as well as a frozen section with great looking sausages. Tip: they also have an online store but for the best variety and advice, call ahead. The butchers are more than happy to guide you through what's best for the day/weekend.

You old timers know what I'm talking about, the kind of food that gives you the "itis" (look it up in an urban dictionary) and puts you in a food coma. Well! Butcher's Son knows how to put together a juicy, medium rare burger. Their special today was a brisket burger with double smoked bacon, a fried tomato and BBQ aoili. I loved the patty but what stood out for me was the delicious bacon: thick cut, smoky, crispy but not hard with a perfect fat to meat ratio. I just thought they were only a butcher's shop but they offer so much more. They have home made soups and chilis, single serve pot pies, lasagna, mini pizzas. There are marinated individual chicken breasts and marinated whole chickens, also Salem's Lott Scary Hot Sauces for sale and a small selection of goodies from Leah's bakery. I was eyeing their gorgeously marbled steaks; I can't wait to come back to try it in their sandwiches! Friendly and helpful staff.
