It's taken me a while to write this review, and that's mainly because I was a little tongue tied as how to describe how amazing I found Mission Break Out.
I'm pretty new to escape games, I've done a few in a few different formats, but nothing really prepared me for this one. This game, located in an abandoned tube station near Camden, is by far one of the most immersive experiences I've ever had.
Imagine it's the end of the Second World War, and your country needs you, deep down in a highly top secret bunker it's up to you and your team (up to 6 players), to decipher the clues and help win the war for good old Blighty.
The attention to detail, from use of vintage props, right down to the uniform jackets you're given, the content of the rooms themselves and the atmosphere, with rumbling trains overhead that gave you that war bunker vibe, was just superb. I couldn't find fault if I tried.
The mission itself was taxing enough, we managed to escape just in time, but we had to work hard to get there.
The mission itself was well thought out, the puzzles we needed to solve were executed well and frankly I came away my mind reeling with possibilities.
Considering the experience, I think the price is an absolute bargain, it's a really fun way to wile away an hour.
I'd expect it to be good for kids (they did mention they have a simplistic version for little ones), as well as for adults, groups of friends or as a team building exercise.
They also seem to looking to improve it based on participate feedback, which is good as I'd love to revisit.
I can sum up my experience as: Really impressed. read more
