Amazing photographer! We had Mischa and an assistant shoot our wedding. We had Mischa as our wedding photographer and he was amazing! He captured the moments that we are going to cherish forever, and we did not feel like we were posing for the camera, we were just having fun and he was capturing it. He did an amazing job at the church where we had the ceremony despite it being dark, the pictures turned out magnificent! Thank you!!! read more

Dear Mischa, I really really wanted to give you 5 stars. If I had written my review immediately following our wedding, you would have received 5 stars hands-down. You were professional, courteous and punctual. The pictures you took of our wedding and surrounding events were beautiful. We received so many compliments from our guests when you posted our pictures online. But, that was over a year and a half ago and today, I have to rate you 2 stars because dealing with you over the prints and our photo album - which we finally have in our possession as of today - was one of the worst experiences I have had from our wedding. We paid for the album in full because we trusted you to do an excellent, timely job as you had shown leading up to and during our wedding weekend. That was mistake #1 on our part. Mistake #2 was being understanding and flexible with you when you were late in getting back to us and late finishing up the album. When we got our album back the first time in June, we were surprised that we were disappointed with about half of the prints. The images we had proofed and approved online did not look the same as what you printed. We tried to work something out, but you never agreed with us that the prints looked bad and therefore you didn't go out of your way to ensure that we were ultimately happy with the album for the price that we paid (which happened to cost more than your photography services!). So now we're left with an album of which half of the prints we don't like at all. At least we own the digital files at this point so we can print everything ourselves. Unfortunately, I won't be able to recommend your services because your follow-through with printing the album was less than professional. We hired you to do the complete job and while you did a great job the first half, you really disappointed us in the end. read more

I did not hire them for a wedding or event. I purchased a $99 groupon for a photoshoot with one print. PROS: - They picked Crissy Field for the shoot on a holiday weekend (Thanksgiving) while construction was taking place. It took over 2 hours to get from Mountain View to SF. We were late but they still took us and even spent more time shooting. - The pictures produced are AMAZING. - Mischa & Bri are charming, sweet people. CONS: - No online viewing so you had to meet them in Sacramento or San Francisco on a weekday (or 9:00 AM on a weekend) to look at pictures. - Again, getting pictures from them requires taking time off of work. No additional help like emailing watermarked proofs, etc. - Once your there it's a hard sell because you've invested so much time at this point. - The pricing for their goods is outrageous! I've done a few shoots with several high end photographers and never seen such ridiculousness (well except from TinyWater) That said, I'll never get to use the awesomeness that I saw while viewing my photos at their studio. That makes me sad because the photos were really spectacular. I just could not justify spending $800 to get the 5 photos I wanted in a small prints in collage frame. Individually, not framed they ran $160. I regret purchasing the groupon and spending several hours at the shoot and viewing pictures. Next time I'll pay more for a more inclusive photo shoot and use a photographer with normal pricing. Oh and it took exactly one year to get my print. Half of that was my fault because I just couldn't ask for time off work to meet them & I took over a month to decide that I couldn't justify $800 for pictures when we were going to have wedding pictures later in the year. read more

Mischa's a bit modest, so here's a review from a very satisfied customer. For our wedding back in February, we decided that of all the vendors we had to work with, the photographer was the most important. After all, this was a one time event, and our children's children would be looking back at these photos someday (and wondering who those dorks are, but I digress). After reviewing lots of web sites, speaking with family and friends, and interviewing a number of photographers, we found Mischa's web site. Immediately, we fell in love with the pictures, and his sense of truly capturing the moment. When we then went to meet him, he turned out to be such a nice guy as well! We knew that we had found the right choice. Throughout the process of engagement photos, wedding photos, and wedding album selection, Mischa was always patient and friendly. Honestly, I know he must have wanted to slap us silly from time to time, but he kept smiling, laughing, and always made us feel totally at ease. During the wedding reception, he also acted as our impromptu coordinator (the man's been to a zillion weddings, so he knows his stuff). Again, everything was in a friendly, laid-back style, such as: Mischa: "Have you thought about when you want to cut the cake?" Us: "Nope" Mischa: "How about now?" Us: "Ok!" Now, I will admit that quality doesn't come cheap. But remember, we're not talking about Uncle Bob with his 20 year-old camera. And I honestly believe that Mischa's prices are about the best bang-for-the-buck that you're going to find. You could pay (a lot) more, but I don't think it's worth it! read more

Mischa is fantastic. On top of being a really talented photographer--he took wedding photos for my husband and I after we got back from our destination wedding in Hawaii--he is a really cool person, friendly, nice, has a sense of humor, and engages in conversation with you. I found myself looking for a photographer really quickly (for Labor Day weekend no less!) and the moment I spoke to him over the phone, I knew he was the right one. We went to China Beach for our photos and our wedding album is more beautiful than we ever could have dreamed of. We went to Mischa's studio/house to look at photos and had some wine while we did it. Everything went as well as could be expected, and better! I am a photographer myself, and I was really blown away by Mischa's talent, creativity, and artistry. I didn't need to interview any photographers after I spoke with Mischa--he was the one. And I'd recommend him to anyone! read more

Mischa and Brianne are such amazing and fun people to work with!! I honestly hate taking pictures and always feel so awkward but they made us laugh and have fun during our engagement and wedding photos!! They are very professional and organized. Never had to worry too much with things getting done by them. Mischa was very patient and worked with us through the entire wedding planning. He created our very cute save the dates and a beautiful guestbook for us! I definitely recommend getting the guestbook! Looks so great and it's fun reading and looking back at the photos!! We also got a canvas from him too. Can't wait to get our wedding pictures back!! Affordable prices and great quality! The photobooth was so much fun too! He said he built it himself and it was very impressive!! They are located in Sacramento and San Francisco!! read more

Our wedding album has made its rounds to family and friends and everyone has been impressed with the gorgeous layout and wonderful photos. We are delighted that Mischa captured so many memories beautifully... he is a true professional behind the lens. On top of that he was a breeze to work with and super friendly... we just could not have imagined a better experience or final product. This is an easy 5 stars. We look forward to enjoying our album for many years to come. Thanks for the great work Mischa! read more

During the entire process, Mischa went above and beyond his "duties". He helped me plan the time line, the color scheme, and even offered to come cake tasting with us (I think he just wanted the cake...) He is friendly, professional, reliable, thorough, and funny! He kept us laughing and at ease through the whole process. He was more than willing to offer advice in a non-intrusive way without making us feel like we HAD to do it that way. (But quite honestly, we took his advice. After all, he's been to a lot of weddings and really knows what he's talking about!) He is genuinely concerned with helping you create the most important day of your life... the way YOU dreamed it to be! We always felt like we were his ONLY clients. He was almost always available when we needed him and if he wasn't, he got back to us very quickly. I'm sure their were many times when he wanted to block me from his email or give me a slap upside the head... but he never made me feel that way! Mischa doesn't come cheap, but he gives SO MUCH MORE than you would expect. He is a brilliant artist and was able to capture our most precious moments and put them to print in a beautiful storyline! If you care about your photos and want something you can truly be proud of, hire Mischa! He's amazing in every sense of the word. If I had to say something negative, I'd be speechless (which doesn't happen to me often). Mischa is worth every penny spent. I wouldn't change a thing! 5 stars aren't enough to truly rate Mischa's work and professionalism. He deserves at least 10! read more

Mischa traveled to France to photograph our wedding last year. We couldn't be happier with all the beautiful photos he took. Mischa worked closely with us to understand what shots were important to us, and covered all of those and more! His candid photos are gorgeous and capture amazing moments of the day. Additionally, Mischa worked very naturally with the children at our wedding. All our guests were impressed with his friendliness and professionalism. He was a great help in keeping things moving swiftly throughout the day. We also appreciated how independent Mischa is. This being a destination wedding, it was great to work with someone who is so effective at navigating another country and culture on his own. But most importantly, Mischa's photos are truly unique, artistic photos. We love the beautiful momentos he's created for us. Thank you, Mischa! read more

Mischa is an unbelievable photographer, and I have worked with at least a few. I hired Mischa to provide photographs for my own marketing collateral, including the cover shot for my sophomore jazz album (Prelude by Milla Milojkovic - ha!) as well as my headshots. Mischa managed, under severe time restrictions, to provide so many different looks with the lighting he used, and provided me - not a model - with such great advice and direction on how to get the good shots, the ones we wanted and the ones that I ended up using. Besides the results, which far exceeded my expectations, Mischa is just a great guy. I felt totally at ease with him. He is super-friendly and easy-going, yet professional. I can't wait to work with him again!!! read more

I LOVED my pictures! I bought one of those deal of the day coupons online for a photo session and picture of my choice. At first I thought $50 for all that work? Now I know why, the pictures were so amazing that I obviously had to buy extras. Mischa & his girlfriend were super nice and made us and our puppies feel comfortable as they snapped away. We got to pick the location and we did a variety of scenes/poses so I had a ton to choose from. They were completely professional and a pleasure to work with! I saw my proofs yesterday and was extremely happy at how they all turned out. I ended up choosing 3 that I just had to have in different sizes. His working studio is completely professional and has all the capabilities to show you exactly what your picture is going to look like. I would definitely recommend them for a wedding, event, portrait, or even an every day pet photo shoot like I did! I can't wait til the print copies come out! Thanks again for making my puppies look so cute and photoshopping my legs to be way skinnier! read more

"How did you DO that?!" So we had this group photo session we needed done quickly: just some quick shots, we didn't need anything fancy, not a studio session, no giganto album, no frilly borders: just so we can maybe recognize the people. I'm sure I could have done it with my point-and-shoot and be done with it. But oh no. Yep, if I had done it with my point-and-shoot it would have looked like, well, I had done it my point-and-shoot. I honestly don't quite understand how he created the photos that he did. I was there for the photos, I saw the people he took pictures of. We don't look THAT good. He made that quick job look like we had a full-day photo shoot each. Everyone looked stunning. The lighting, the angle, the composition: it was all well thought out. Wow. Mischa the magic man behind the lens: thank you. read more

Yay for these two! Mischa and Bri knew the location where we eloped very well, which was a huge bonus for me because I hate photo sessions (even those impromptu group photos with friends' cameras) and they were able to take us directly from ideal photo scene to the next fast enough that we got all the shots we needed before I got photo-overload. These two each focus on a different type of shot so we had a really rounded variety of both the classic formal shots and also some more fun informal ones. They made it fun and comfortable to be in front of the camera, so major props for that, and in the middle of a crazy day they took so much stress out of the entire logistics of the photos. It wad a bit last minute we decided to elope at San Francisco City Hall. Mischa Photography was thankfully super-flexible in giving us the last-minute booking, which was ONLY open because it was a Thursday. They showed up a little bit early (which when you are getting married is great, as "right on time" is when you start to worry). I have yet to decide what all to order, there are so many great shots and I have limited wall space, but I think this is the better problem to have! read more

I hired Bri + Mischa to shoot my wedding in Santa Cruz last June, and we were over the moon with the resulting photos. They captured all the crucial moments--pre, ceremony, party, and some of the ones of just us two (which I highly recommend doing) we will use for a long time. All the shots had a gauzey, dreamy quality that captured our backyard DIY wedding. As photographers, they are natural and fun, but also operate with the utmost professionalism and efficiency. I have gotten massive compliments on the photos for their high quality and artistic angles and shot choices. I'm thrilled with our choice of photographer, and would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. read more

Mischa and Bri photographed my wedding and I am really happy with their work! Not only did they capture amazing photos, but they both have a really great energy! The husband and wife team works really well for them. From the first interaction I had with them through email all the way through receiving my photos (which were on time!) I had a very pleasant experience. Mischa Photography is well worth every dollar spent! Oh, and every photo idea I sent was either captured or at least attempted. Be vocal about what you want and you shall receive! read more

I had a photo shoot with Mischa and Brianna back in December for a holiday greeting card shoot. I will definitely be back. My son, 2 years old, and I showed up and were greeted promptly by Mischa. My son was a little apprehensive being in a new environment with new people and camera/lighting equipment. Mischa offered him a little yellow truck and that pretty much won him over. The photos are spectacular and the experience was fun. I won't wait until December to come back. read more

Awesome experience and awesome photos to show for it. We worked with Mischa for our engagement photos and really loved the ideas and techniques he brought to the table. We also worked with him to produce an album for our guests to sign at our engagement party and the quality of work is unmatched. Really glad we went with a package rather than trying to put together ourselves; leave it to the pros. Had we not already booked our ceremony photographer in Paris, we would have brought him along with us too! read more

Mischa is not only wonderful to work with--he did our family portrait and numerous head shots for me and my patients--he is extremely artistic, creative and knowledgeable. I've found him completely reliable and dependable in our dealings as well as cooperative. He's such a nice person with good humor, he's a pleasure to be with, not to mention his more than reasonable, competitive prices. Dr. Michael Hack read more

Mischa is amazing. A true artist. He recently did our wedding and we could not be happier. We searched far and wide for a photographer in the city and was so happy that Mischa was available. He is patient and prompt throughout the entire wedding process and does not make you feel like you are bothering him. His albums are BEAUTIFUL--the best we had seen from any other photographer. Really, people, AMAZING. After our engagement photo session, he had us back to his studio, to lay out how we wanted our engagement album to look! Talk about service!! Not only are his pictures and service fantastic, but he is also has a great attitude. He never made us feel rushed or stressed, which is always appreciated on the big day. We have a HUGE family and Mischa dealt with them so wonderfully. His assistant, Sandra, is also a god-sent. I am confused by the one negative comment and am sure it is taken way out of context. TWO DAYS after we got married, Mischa had emailed us about 15 of his favorite photos from the wedding and by the time we got back from our honeymoon, all of the pictures were available to view online. Soon after, we did another sit down with Mischa to go through all of the photos from the wedding and pick what we wanted in our wedding album and it all went so smoothly. He can add effects right then and there so that you can pick how you want your picture to look--black and white, film, antique, blue tone. It is pretty darn cool. Mischa--you RULE and we only wish to get married all over again so that you could capture it! read more

Mischa and Brianne were GREAT to work with. They took the time to get to know us and our personalities, which made the wedding day a breeze. Mischa was very personable and was very accommodating to us. The pictures from the wedding turned out great, there were a good variety of artistic shots and normal shots. The best thing about working with them is that they really take the time to know their customers and are extremely pleasant to work with. read more

Mischa, Mischa, Mischa! You're the man! You did an outstanding job of capturing the emotion of our wedding. My fiancee and I set out to hire a photographer who was more interested in the telling our wedding story through creative photography, rather than a photographer who was getting paid to snap a bunch of "posed for" pictures. You have been an absolute joy to work with and we couldn't be happier on our decision to hire you. Your creative genius, professionalism and fun loving personality were worth every penny! read more

Mischa and Brianne came over a few days ago to shoot some pics of our baby boy. They were both very sweet, very professional, and were able to work within the sometimes-challenging parameters of a newborn--waiting for him to feed and be warm and comfortable, listening to his needs when he got cold and fussy, and adjusting the plan to fit the moment. They had images for us to look at later that day, and we were extremely pleased with the results. A great team! read more

This is rather belated but I had to write because we're still getting compliments on the photo Mischa took of my Mom and I. I bought a Groupon for a session with Mischa on a whim knowing that my Mom was going to be in town for a visit and figuring I could pay her back for all the times she made me squirm in front of the camera. Mischa's easy going manner and his professionalism made the shoot relaxed and fun. He didn't rush us and didn't pressure me into purchasing more more prints than I wanted. I wish I could have afforded to buy more images but I would recommend Mischa in a heartbeat! read more

After dealing with a lot of wedding vendors, I've come up with a system for grading them/choosing the good ones. Each vendor essentially needs to do three things: communicate, interact, and produce. Many people get fooled by vendors who communicate and interact well but create poor finished products. Many more are baffled by those who show you great examples of finished products, but are so inept at communicating and interacting that you end up wondering if it was even worth it. Mischa and Brianne were perfect in all three of these respects, and I could hardly offer a higher recommendation. Communication: Responses to emails were prompt and thoughtful. We always felt like our opinions were being heard and taken to heart, but also knew we were not just being placated or told what we wanted to hear. Mischa would listen to our wishes and offer his professional opinions of how best to achieve them. Often this meant suggesting things we had not thought of, but we were always glad to be informed, and in the end it was always our opinions that counted most. A great example of this was the engagement photo session- we wanted to cut this out to cut costs, but Mischa felt it was important and talked us into doing it. Afterwards, we understood why he had made such a strong suggestion, and were very happy he had done so. We never had to wonder what was happening, when things would happen, or why. We felt very comfortable the whole way, and this was due to outstanding professionalism. Interaction: This is especially important for a photographer. They're going to be a part of your wedding, and all it takes is a bad attitude to tarnish a perfect day. Having Mischa and Brianne at our wedding was like having two extra friends. They were friendly (we had some great conversations while they photographed us getting ready), helpful (they kept us up to date on what was going on and even helped my wife lace up her dress), and professional (always keeping the job first priority, even when having fun). Our meeting with them post-wedding to review our pictures was so pleasant and enjoyable that we tried to think of new issues to review just to hang out. You can't say that about most vendors! Product: Superb. I don't feel like I have to go into too much detail on this one, because it's so easy to see for yourself. Go to the web page and look at the pictures. Beautiful, creative, artistic, personal- everything you could want. I feel bad being so late with my review (we got married a year and a half ago), but I've been toying with it to be sure I get it right. Simply put, you couldn't do better than Mischa. read more

We are so glad we went with Mischa Photography for our engagement and wedding pictures. The engagement session was really fun and it was a great way to start to feel comfortable in front of the camera, as neither of us have ever been on a photo shoot. Mischa and his wife Brianne are amazing! They shot our wedding on Angel Island in August and their photos turned out fantastic!!! Mischa Photography is the BEST! Mischa made our process seamless! He and his associate made us feel so comfortable. Our first meeting at his studio was very detailed and Mischa made us feel like we did not have to worry about a thing on that day and he did just that. His attitude through out our day was so upbeat and friendly. He made adjustments accordingly because our wedding was not so seamless yet he keep his cool and helped us feel the same way. Mischa also helped in other areas because we did not have a wedding planner. He even pulled out bobby pins when I needed help with my hair!!! AND THE PICTURES ARE AMAZING!!!! My husband and I look like we belong in a magazine :). THANK YOU Mischa! Juan and Stephanie Munoz read more

I hate to give a 1 star review based on a limited experience but my fiancee and I had an appointment with Mischa on Sunday and we had confirmation in writing (via email) of the appointment. We drove almost an hour from the San Jose area and he wasn't there! Somehow the appointment didn't get written on his calendar or whatever. Mistakes happen, but he didn't even apologize when he finally called us back as we were waiting in the cold outside of his office! He was abrupt and a little rude!!! The next day he did email offering $100 off any package we booked but not only is that a very small gesture (the package we ended up booking with another photographer was over $5k) but it isn't about money. I want to know that my photographer is going to be where I need them when I need them and be easy to work with. So while I certainly appreciate the follow up, it was just too little too late. read more

The photos speak for themselves!! Picking the photographer was our first priority and if I do say so myself, we nailed it!! Mischa and Bri have it all! They were prompt in ALL responses to emails/questions/travel arrangements/etc. We couldn't be happier with our photos and the talent, time, and effort they spent with and on us! Not only were they consummate professionals but they were so upbeat and positive that it felt like we had known them for much longer. We couldn't speak more highly of Mischa Photography! read more

You know all those mind blowing moments that you experience on your special day, and hope you remember forever... the way your husband swiped at his eyes with the back of his hand while you walked down the aisle, the toss of flower peddles against the sunlight as they drift down... well Mischa and Bri will do an amazing job of capturing every angle and giving you more that you ever expected in your wedding photos. Mischa took pictures I would never have thought about or have seen in other weddings shoots, and Bri captured the complimentary angle - them working side by side really differentiates them from other photographers we looked at. On top of that, they are more like friends than just another vendor helping with the wedding. I'd use them again in a heartbeat. I get goose bumps just thinking about the wedding album they did for us. Thanks Mischa and Bri! read more

Super belated review, but we absolutely loved working with mischa and bri for our wedding in September 2010! They were great for the engagement and wedding photos and we will still get compliments even today when people talk about the wedding. They get great angles without popping up awkwardly around you during private moments, and they really work with you concerning what you will get out of the pictures to fit your budget. For example, I was going to max out my photo budget after a certain number of hours, so mischa suggested that he only shoot the beginning of the dancing, enough to get some shots of our friends, but people don't tend to order nearly as many dancing shots of their guests as one might think, and he was right! One other great thing about mischa and bri is that they really enjoy working together, so on your special day of celebrating love, their great attitude and joy fits right in! read more
