Most of the time when dealing with medical professionals you get the idea that they are more interested in your wallet and prescribing then the actual health of the patient, this is NOT the case with Dr. Lane. I travel quite far to see him and do so every year. I tend to be more inclined to preventative medicine and vitamins, exercise etc and usually this is met with upset from doctors, having been trained to believe there is no other route other than prescriptions etc. Dr. Lane is respectful of my health and always is quick to check anything I want looked into. He also appreciates that I don't wait until something is wrong but am working to prevent things from going wrong through exercise, eating healthy and doing annual physicals. If you are looking for a someone who cares, go to Doctor Lane. His schedule is always packed, but its for good reason.

He will order the necessary tests, investigate abnormal results, return phone calls promptly, and provide referrals whenever necessary. I have been going to Dr. Lane for years now, and have never been disappointed in the level of service he provides. I was very surprised to see the negative yelp reviews, although they do seem mostly related to billing and scheduling issues.

A month later I find myself in the hospital with pneumonia. I have no insurance and after having paid his non insurance visit price, I've since been hounded by a billing company claiming extra charges for three visits. This is insane. Never again, after years as a patient. No ethics.

I moved to Hoboken less than a year ago and have had no need for a family doctor. I've been pretty sick the last few days and I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Tracey super-easily. I called on Thursday afternoon and was given 2 different times for Friday. I chose the 6pm one, so I could go after work on Friday. I ended up staying home from work and called to see if I could get in earlier - not a problem. Dr. Tracey's staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. When I arrived, I didn't see the doctor for about 30 minutes - which, on doctor's time, isn't that bad. He was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Not too quick to diagnose and weighed quite a few options. Overall, I liked the guy.

TLDR: great care by Dr.Karnik Patel but terrible billing office that is still billing me…read moreincorrectly after 4 months of service after confirming the practice was in network and covered by insurance. The two stars is for the truly amazing care that Dr.Patel offers at this practice. After being highly recommended I scheduled an apt 4 months in advance to switch my PCP. The appointment was efficient and covered all of my many needs. I also got blood work in-house and then was sent on my way. Shortly after I was billed over $400 for my visit as the service was considered not covered by my insurance. Note: I had called and cleared the dr by insurance prior to my visit. After calling my insurance they said they would work with the Hackensack to adjust, after a few months it was adjusted again but still over $200. I repeated the process again it was $152. My insurance is still confirming that this should be covered as it is my annual well visit by a PCP. I am still receiving bills however when I sign into mychart there is zero balance, yet on Hackensack billing portal there is the $152 balance. When I call Hackensack billing they also say I have no balance, yet they are still mailing me bills for all difference amounts ($15.45, and $152). It has now been over 4 months and I still cannot get the insurance and Hackensack group to align and am unfortunately never going to be able to see Dr.Patel again due to these struggles.

I had an urgent situation and called for an hour starting at 8:00AM. Someone did not answer until 9:30AM. They said they would call me back and hours went by. I called again at 2:00PM because their machine says out from 1-2 for lunch. It is now 3:00 and their office is "still closed." I suppose since they close at 4:00, I will not be getting my call back today. 2- They only accept cash (sketchy and terribly inconvenient considering its 2016). Oh, and fax only as well. 3- Some of the women at the front desk are nice but others are completely rude. 4- Every time I have ever gone to see the doctor, I arrive 15 minutes early. I wind up getting seen an hour or so after that. Again, not the doctors fault, but the people at the front desk. Unfortunately I will have to switch doctors because this just isn't working for me.
