My session was an anniversary gift from my husband. I have actually wanted to do boudoir pictures for a while now. I always felt like I wasn't ready (body image, confidence, etc), couldn't find a talented photographer (boy did he find a good one Jenn Cathers - umm WOW) & lord my make-up/hair I know a little, but what would I do? (Jamie Kimbrough is AHHHmazing- I mean freaking transforming here) Honestly, when he told me that I had a session booked I was super excited and I actually got really nervous like the day before and day of. I mean if you aren't your first time - are you normal?! Lol I kept saying that I was doing the pictures for him (even during the shoot) but what I really didn't realize is that I was doing them for me. This sheer amount of confidence- I can't even begin to describe! It was so weird because after the session I was emotional and just kept telling my husband thank you so so much for booking the session; for the experience. It felt like a new sense of freedom; for discovering a girl that I didn't know was hiding. Cannot express enough words here. When I saw my sneak peek I could not form a sentence. "I booked this boudoir session as a gift for my husband. This is something I said I'd do for him 3 years ago and didn't end up going through with it. I'm a photographer myself and used to being behind the camera, needless to say I was nervous! I calmed down once she started shooting, she knew exactly what she was doing and it wasn't uncomfortable at all. Proofs were ready quickly and The response to my session was better than what I expected, my husband was blown away. My favorite part of the session was the photos-they were stunning! I bought them all. To women who are on the fence: This is totally worth it- Jenn is awesome, very approachable and very professional. I wasn't the least bit worried about running around in lingerie the whole time she was here. She knew how to pose me to make me beautiful and used poses that were not too risqué since this was my first shoot. She also incorporated my ideas, i.e. Husbands Harley, his plaid shirt. Ladies, a boudoir photo session by Jenn is a gift that keeps giving. I did this for myself after a divorce and turning 40. I needed someone else, a female, to help show me who I was in that moment. I did a lot of research to find the right photographer and landed here. It was just perfect. The stories from the clients are what set my mind at ease. They also spoke of the confidence and beauty they found in themselves from doing the photo shoot. I can attest, it's all true. I'm not the perfect size and never have been. I'm a mom of two and work hard. I don't apply makeup well on myself. I didn't know I could look sexy or was sexy. I didn't want to spend "that kind of money on myself." I was afraid that I would regret this selfish gift. Jenn captured the goddess within me and have zero regrets. She helped make every pose look gorgeous for the camera. She even was careful with me because I had been in a wreck the day before my session. I was worried I would be too sore to get in poses. She was patient and worked quickly. What an amazing experience! When I arrived I was excited but so nervous I had butterflies the size of small birds in my stomach! As I walked in I was just taking it all in. Jenn put my mind at ease as we talked and I explained that this was years coming and a 50th birthday gift to myself a couple years late. Jamie, who did my makeup, came around the corner and the 3 of us just had fun as I modeled the lingerie I brought with me and some Jenn picked out for me. Then, off with Jamie I went for my makeup. Let me tell you I went from feeling pretty ok about how I looked to wowza fabulously beautiful. She was with me through the whole shoot to touch up here, flip my hair and help me with my poses. Jenn had me push those boobs up, bootie out, chin this way, eyes that way and boom....her talent made me look and feel sexy, glamorous, confident and just all around wonderful. This was, hands down, one of the best experiences of my life. The customer service started before I ever entered the studio. I was nervous and asked a ton of questions, but Jenn never shamed me and was super responsive. For the shoot itself, they did an amazing job making me feel comfortable and beautiful. I'm still trying to figure out how Jamie crafted cheekbones on my round face, but she is amazing and I felt gorgeous. The best part...the photos are breathtaking. As a plus size woman, I have always carried some insecurities. This experience showed me how, not just pretty, but sexy, I really am. This was an AMAZING experience !! I was so scarred to do this, but Jenn and Staci calmed all of my fears, made it fun and I had an amazing time. However, that was just the icing on the cake.
