Well, I went back there today purely out of convenience. Nothing has changed. I approached the counter in a nearly empty store, the cashier nearly slammed her phone down in disgust that she must actually do her job. Performed her job in the rudest way possible. Of course I apologized for interrupting her, and quietly exited. I'll say it again: I don't expect much, but basic human decency is lacking here. Do they seek out the worst? Do they train them to be miserable? Do they dock their salaries if they smile or are simply polite? All of the above? I don't know the answer, but I do know that I'll not be returning. Miron does have a decent wine selection. It's not great. I don't drink liquor so I can't comment on that. I agree with all the reviews commenting on customer service. It is bad. The staff behind the counter don't even put their phone away when a customer approaches. Oftentimes, they don't speak when you walk up and if they're in a conversation with another associate, they continue the conversation. I have attempted to be friendly; no luck. I don't know what else to say. If personal friendly service is important to you, look elsewhere. read more

Good, rotating bourbon selection at the most reasonable prices in the area. Staff is well versed in liquor and wine selections throughout the store. It is a pleasure to do business with a place that still believes in old fashioned customer service. read more

This place doesn't even deserve a star! I can't believe they just gave my husband who's disabled and has breathing issues such a hard time aboit his face shield! Don't buy here unless you drink your alcohol quickly!!! We have been customers for years. We have bought for ourselves, for gifts, and for numerous charitable events. We have never returned anything or complained about anything. I bought a bottle of Amarula which, when I opened it, turned out to be rancid and congealed. It took 3 calls and a detailed email over a number of weeks to finally get a response from a manager. I was told in a very condescending manner that, as it had been more than 30 days since it was purchased, there was no possibility of a return, exchange or refund. She explained that that was state law. I told her that refunds are store policy not state law. I pointed out that we have been customers for years and never returned anything. I also pointed out that we often don't open alcohol for more than 30 days because we buy several bottles at a time and don't consume it immediately. She told me she didn't care and that if I took my business elsewhere that would be fine. She also refused to have the owner call me. Proceed with caution. read more

I have been to hundreds of liquor stores, I work in the liquor industry and there has never been a store with worse customer service than Miron W&S. The owner should be ashamed at how his employees act. I will never come back. read more

Great spot for wine and liquor. We always stop here when ever we are in Kingston we always find a great selection and reasonable prices. Store is clean and well organized and we've always been asked if we need help and had our questions answered by the staff if we ever have any. I like that they have hard to find wines that I don't often see at my other local wine shops. And they have a nice loyalty program as well. read more

What a horrible business: arrogant, obnoxious managers who know little about wine and have absolutely no desire to help customers. Example: My husband bought a case of wine and two bottles extra to sample. He tasted and did not like the wine; it was sour, possibly bad. I hauled back the unopened case and asked to exchange it (not even return it!) The manager/owner? with whom I spoke told me he had to look it all up; this took 12 minutes in the "back office." He returned in a huff, I asked what was upsetting him so much, and he threw the receipt at me and told me I could not return the case. On the exchange, they lost the upsale as well as a customer -- forever. We will never return to this store. Ever again. And I mean. Ever. Again. read more

They discriminate against the disabled, they have deleted the reviews because they know they are in the wrong so I am leaving a review here. A gentleman who has serious disability issues including mental health disability issues attempted to go into the store today and was told his face shield was not good enough. They were demanding that he had to wear a facemask, the woman who was in the front was extremely nasty and rude to him and actually told him she did not care if he was disabled. Per New York State anywhere a mask Has to be worn a face shield is legally an equal substitute and must be excepted no exceptions. Their response was that they have store to car delivery, however as many of us know, you don't always know what you want ahead of time. You must go to the store and pick it out once you were there. Per New York State and Governor Cuomo a face mask is to be worn except where not medically tolerable in this particular circumstance this gentleman was not able to wear a mask and was Attempting to do his best buy at least wearing a face shield. Finally they did check him out but had the audacity to tell him he must come with medical documentation the next time he returns. That's a blatant violation of the ADA and a direct violation of his privacy rights per HIPPA. I encourage everyone to stay away from their store they have no respect for our disabled vets or the disabled in general. If you are disabled and wish to go to the store I suggest bringing a camera with you and recording them for their violations, this is grounds for a lawsuit. read more

Probably the best liquor store I've ever been too (and I've been to a bunch). I worked here for a summer once and learned more about wine and liquor in that summer than 4 years of drinking in New Orleans taught me (not much you can learn from a Pat 'Os Hurricane though). The manager, Eric, is very knowledgeable and slightly pretentious but he gets to be. He will laugh in your face for asking about White Zinfandel but he'll also open a bottle of particularly good wine on the spot for a customer. Wine tastings on Saturday were a blast too. It's nice to have a reason to be a little drunk at work. Additionally, they do discounts for seniors and on cases. And if you come in often enough, they start to give you a discount for being loyal. That's why local businesses rock. read more

And if they don't have something you are looking for ask to speak to the manager Leon (what a hunk!) he will try to get it for you at a reasonable cost. The staff there is knowledgable about most of the wines and liquors in the store (with a selection like that even a sommelier would have difficulty). This is a very square and sparse big box of a strip mall store. It looks like there might as well be auto parts lined up along the walls or in stacks in the middle of the floor. So, anyway. Embarrassingly, I couldn't remember what liquor went in a Manhattan -- was it bourbon, rye, possibly canadian whiskey? I asked someone from the store. Them: "I don't know". Me: "Is there a book around." Them: "Nope". So they're not so great with expertise . . but maybe their virtue is price or selection. Nope. I ended up figuring out what liquor you need for the Manhattans but they only have a poor selection of a few average quality, low-value bourbons like the pretty lousy Evan Williams and no Early Times (a remarkable value). Do not go to Mirons looking for someone to suggest a wine/liquour bottle that's a good value or of particularly high quality. They don't know. Go to a store that knows wine and liquor. However, I've tried Miron a couple more times and I got someone who knew bourbon. The staff might be a mtter of luck. I have no connection to the Merchant right down the street but they seem to have a distinct edge. Everything about them suggests that they're trying to run a quality liquor and wine store. Arrogant and not customer friendly. Bought some wine on close out "because we are not going to carry it any more." When I subsequently told them it was bad out of the bottle, even though I said I wasn't asking for a refund, they were nasty. A few days later I called and asked for the manager; he was nastier and hung up on me. My guess is they knew it was bad because he knew exactly which wine I was calling about. I'm giving 1 star because I don't think you can give none! read more

We are currently on the way to Vermont and stopped by this liquor store. We came in and the guy named Will said there was no space in the trash cans for our trash which was a paper bag- there were two trash cans right next to him. I love this place, but I do have to say I've been slightly disappointed lately. Their selections seems to have dwindled, in terms of what quantities they carry - quite limited. They have great prices, and great wine selection, and pretty expansive albeit standard liquor choices. I hope they go back to being the 10 star place I used to patron! read more

customer service is horrid..i like selection but its the service upon checkout that turns me off to go there..Theres not even a hello when you enter..the kids are too busy gossiping..And what do they know about wine and liquor in all there 21 years ?????????? Mirons hire knowledgeable socially skilled people and you will have more clientel!! not kids !!! One rude woman couldn't even hand me change it was left on the counter and she proceeded to walk away, not saying anything..i watched 2 employees instead of helping a man to find a brut champagne substitute of something equally or maybe even better for new years just talk down to him ,making him look stupid because they just didn't carry what he wanted ..I talked to him outside and told him another store that had what he wanted.. read more
