I had an amazing experience at Mirka Method in downtown Sarasota! The Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage was deeply relaxing, and the Mirka Method facial with oxygen infusion, microcurrent, and a hydrating mask left my skin glowing, plump, and refreshed. Mirka has a truly special touch, extensive experience, and such a warm, caring personality. I left feeling relaxed, renewed, and beautiful! Highly recommend her for a customized massage and facial experience in Sarasota. I can't wait to return! read more

Had a 90 minute massage and I can't say enough about how great it was. Mirka is so talented and I've had many massages, this was my best! Highly recommend! read more

I had the best facial today!!! I went in looking dull, old, and tired. I left looking young, vibrant, and glowing. I am very happy with my results!!! :) read more

So I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a 5 star review for Mirka! I've been getting facials from her since 2016 and she truly gives you a custom experience. My skin is constantly changing so I've never received the same facial twice. It's usually a combination of diamond microdermabrasion, extractions, peel, mask, lymphatic, light therapy, ultrasound, microcurrent facial toning, etc. I always know when I leave my face is going to be dewy, beautiful and obviously younger looking! read more

BEWARE if you are getting a wax done here. The wax that is sitting there, waiting for you, has already been contaminated by many people's private areas!! I moved to Bethesda from NY last year and was looking for a brazilian waxing place that did a decent job for good price. I've had a Brazilian done at Nails by Tammy in Bethesda and unfortunately, if you read my 1 star review there, they double dip. So after that, I've just steered clear from having another Brazilian done here and just got it done regularly at my go-to place, J'aime Day Spa, every time I visited NY. One day I came across a Groupon deal, saw raving reviews about this place and found that it was also located within 5 minutes walking distance from my apt. Naturally, I purchased the Groupon and went in for a Brazilian. I met Mirka who was very nice, we bonded because she also moved from NY after living there for over 20+ years. However to my horror, she was double dipping as she talked! I asked her "Ohno... are you double dipping?" She replied "Honey, I've been doing this for decades, it's not called double dipping because only the wax touches your skin, not the stick." Hmm.. really? But the wax that you touched my privates with, goes back into the scalding hot pot of wax that will be used for others. She was lecturing me about how bacteria doesn't spread because the wax is hot or blah blah, I forgot what she said, as I did not really listen. I just wanted to get the hell outta there so I can shower when I got home. Won't visit here again. Now after two brazilian-waxing horror stories in Bethesda, I would really appreciate anyone who can DM me and recommend to me a place in DMV (preferally Bethesda area) that doesn't double dip! read more

I discovered Mirka by chance a few years ago because of a groupon. I came in, hairy as ever, and we got to chatting. 45 minutes of laugher later, I had no hair from my belly button down to my toes. By the time she told me the price and I was in total disbelief. She knew I got an added charge everywhere I went because of how thick my hair is, and she said she wouldn't do that to me there. I've since moved almost an hour away from Bethesda, but going back to see Mirka is almost a pilgrimage. Love the wax, love the company, and recommend it to everyone. read more

Mirka is a wonderful esthetician who knows her craft very well. I have really sensitive skin, and Mirka treats my face very delicately. She takes her time and doesn't rush. She provides a calming, soothing environment that helps me relax from my daily stress, and most importantly, keeps me looking young and without wrinkles. She uses high-end products from France and advanced facial technological equipment. She is easy to get to in Bethesda and is very flexible with appointments. Her online booking service is very convenient. She is also a wonderful person and very compassionate and easy to get along with and be around. read more

Ok so before I begin I have to say I have been to at least 20 different estheticians/ facialists in my lifetime and Mirka is by far the best I have had the pleasure to work with. She is kind, passionate and extremely knowledgeable about skin and skin care and will coach you and your skin back into good/ better health. Another thing I will add is that she does not beat around the bush! She truly cares to help you and does not hold back when it comes to telling you what you need ! It's such a breath of fresh air to be around someone that truly wants to help you and isn't focused on the bottom dollar. Whatever your skin issues are I'm sure Mirka has all the tools available to help you out. With it being so hard to find good estheticians my glowing skin and I are so happy and grateful we found her :) read more

I had a facial with MiRka today and left glowing my skin was hydrated. I was very pleased and She is very knowledgeable about her product and knows what she is doing. I would definitely return. read more

I received a microdermoabrasion treatment with Mirka and it destroyed my skin. It has been over a month since I received the treatment and I still have raised bumps that look like small pimples on a one side of my face. Being acne-free runs in my family. I am horrified. Additionally, she did an extra treatment on her own and charged me an additional $10 when the bill came. That is not cool. But honestly, that is small fries in comparison to what has happened to my skin. I trusted the previous yelp reviews and am really let down. read more

4.5 stars Mirka is now situated in an individual room at Lux Studios in Bethesda, just around the corner from her old location. This caused silly me some confusion as I had the old address, but when I called, she helped me find my way and didn't begrudge me too much for therefore becoming late for my appointment. The salon/spa is very attractive, and her space is equally adorable and well-kept. The front desk attendant was friendly and took me back in person to her space. She was welcoming and friendly with me even though I came in late and in a flurry, and that helped the rest of the session feel much calmer. I came in for her waxing services, and I have to say that this experience was quite different from any other that I've had due to the fact that she uses hard wax. While I personally found it more painful than regular wax, she let me know that it should last longer, which was pretty exciting since my hair always grows back quite quickly. Mirka has great bedside manner and made me feel relaxed and at ease throughout. She was also very helpful in letting me know that she offers a significant student discount when she found out I was currently in grad school. I was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes, so she is very efficient with her time, too. The jury is still out on whether or not it lasts longer, as it has only been a few days since I went, but I can say that it was a relatively pleasant and calm experience. I would most definitely recommend her and her services to anyone I know. read more

I've only had brazillian waxes done at Bare Skin in Alexandria, but I moved so I decided to try a different place. My previous waxes have been done with soft wax as a disclaimer. I arrived about 15 minutes late. Part of me thought about canceling, but I decided to go through with the service. This was hands down the most painful wax I have ever had. I do not prefer hard wax, and to make things worse she used huge sections so that she could hurry me out and get to her next client. She waxed half of me in one super painful pull. To top things off, she definitely double dipped. I think she only used one stick one me the entire time. The service was so rushed I'm still picking residual wax from my neither regions. If she couldn't effectively perform the service in the time allowed she should not have performed it. Point blank period!!! read more

OK, listen up. If you miss out on a deal for Mirka's services, kick yourself. Not flexible enough to kick yourself? Get a friend to do it. In fact, they should kick you twice because you failed to tell your friend that you both could have gotten a discount on an excellent facial. And then you should make an appointment anyway. Mirka has a very business like approach to skin, she'll assess what it needs, make helpful suggestions and set to work with a deft, soothing touch. And if you're worried about strong arm tactics to buy products afterwards - Don't. read more

I have been to see Mirka three times now. Three waxes and one facial. I bought a Groupon for two Brazilian waxes with Mirka. I arrived at Le Ciel (Mirka's room is inside the salon) and did not have to wait long (I never have any of the times). I met Mirka, who was professional, nice, and very personable. It is really great having someone who's friendly and professional, because it makes the whole experience so much better. Mirka has a little room in the back of the salon. It's small, but cozy and it smells great! To be brief, the wax was great; Mirka uses a hard wax for the Brazilian, which is great for my sensitive skin. She talked to me through the whole thing and made it as comfortable as possible. Sometimes after a wax, I tend to have irritated skin, but after three waxes with Mirka I have had little to no irritation. Results have been great and I've been very happy with the service and prices, so I have been back once since my Groupons were redeemed. I plan to keep going to Mirka as long as I am in the Bethesda area. In my most recent visit, I scheduled a facial and a wax. Mirka did the wax first and did a great job. Somehow, it's much less painful with her than with many other people I had seen in the past. After the wax, she applied a mild chemical peel to my face and various cleansing and soothing products. She also used the light therapy machine on my face for a few minutes before applying a mask that sat for 10 minutes. My skin feels great! I definitely am glad that I found Age Smart by Mirka. Her prices and specials are great and her skills are amazing. I can't imagine going anywhere else. read more

Top notch Brazilian and facial!!! Mirka is awesome and easy to deal with. I have gotten the best Brazilian wax in 15 years! It has been 4weeks and almost hair free and feels great. I went back for microdermabrasion that she recommended and loved the results. I was looking for a deep cleanse of my pores and something that would be appropriate for my dull skin. My skin came out glowing and felt so clean. Can't wait to return to Mirka!!! She is a must try!!! read more

Mirka is the best. Initially, I came here because I had purchased a groupon and had not found a waxing home after being in the area for almost a year. Because the Brazilian is part of my routine maintenance I was getting tired of bouncing from place to place. At any rate after visiting the first time I am hooked. Mirka's waxing method is almost painless, it's quick and she talks to you so it's less uncomfortable. I've been coming to her regularly for the past 4 months now and will continue. I recommend her to anyone looking to get a Brazilian. read more

Absolutely fantastic waxing from Mirka. This is the first time I have really felt committed to a waxer. I'm not a frequent waxer, and I usually go when I'm able to find great deals (like I did for Mirka), but she totally changed my outlook. She was so nice, the hard wax was great and removed hair from the root, and she went through to extract my ingrown hairs. No one has ever done that for me. I was amazed. The waxing room smelled really nice, had relaxing music playing, and was very comfortable. I totally agree with whoever said to kick yourself if you miss out on a deal. She is amazing. Also, she offers reduced pricing to repeat customers. read more

Mirka for great skin! So glad I found Mirka - she's really amazing. I've had two facials with her so far, with another one already scheduled. She customized the facials to my skin, including doing micro-dermabrasion, and completely took her time. She explained everything as she went, and was incredibly nice, personable and funny, too! My skin looked wonderful - very smooth, hydrated and ...happy :) She also did a terrific job getting rid of some stubborn milia, one of which was very close to my eye; I felt very comfortable in her hands. A very relaxing, great experience - I highly recommend her. read more

This was my first Brazilian Wax. My friend convinced me to get one & scared me horribly prior too! I was having a terrible day & VERY uptight when I walked in but Mirka put me TOTALLY at ease! She explained everything she was doing as she went along. The salon was very clean & hygienic. To be perfectly honest the waxing of my of my eyebrows is more uncomfortable than this! I'll definitely be back & recommend friends! I used a Groupon & was able to book my appointment on line with ease! I was in & out! The only thing I'd recommend is plan to arrive early... there's not allot of on street parking near Lux Studios so I had to park in a garage a block over. read more

After calling and agreeing on what I felt was a good price. After the facial, which was substandard, Mirka charged me double our agreed price. Beware of her running up the price for a mediocre facial. I will not be a returning customer nor would I recommend her service. This is my first one-star review. read more

I went in today and had the body slimming treatment. Mirka was amazing, her customer service and congeniality is above par and the body wrap was amazing (2inch loss!) I recommend Mirka to everyone needing a bodyslimming wrap! read more

Mirka started as my wax technician and now is also my esthetician! She has done remarkable things to my face! I'm African American, I've been to 4 others who I thought would make my deep old acne scars faint and none have succeeded! Mirka has graciously improved my skin! I get complements from family(the very few who have seen me without make up previously) and I feel so much confidence while not wearing make up! I've had 4 facials so far and the results are amazing. I will continue my journey to clear skin with Mirka!! read more

Now more than ever it's important to take care of yourself and a facial with Mirka is one of the best ways to do that! Time with her is good for the spirit, soul and skin. Mirka is a truly talented facialist. She spent years at Georgette Klinger in NYC and you can tell she brings an avant-garde knowledge of the beauty marketplace. Her equipment is top-notch. For less than what I'd spend at Red Door I get a world class facial with microdermabrasian and a million other extras (chemical peels, best in class products). Mirka is also a generous person and sparkling conversationalist. I look 10 years younger since I've been going to her and I look forward to it every four weeks. She even throws in a shoulder and hand massage. The best! read more

Just got my first facial by Mirka and I absolutely love her. She's very good, has been doing it for a long time, her edu. background is impressive and she is very knowledgable. Gave me great advice from skin care to diet tips. She's not trying to sell you any products or convince you to get something you don't need. Very sweet and easy to get along with. Will be back soon! The salon itself is also nice, tastefully decorated and clean. The receptionist was welcoming and helpful. It is very easy to find even if you're not familiar with Bethesda. Right on the red line and if you decide to drive, there's street parking/parking garages. A+ overall read more

Truly wonderful experience from beginning to end. I'm not a high maintenance gal and really never spend on skincare. But pushing 50, the wrinkles are starting to widen and I just have "flaws"..various bumps and spots and bags and creases. I don't want to look 50! The Lux Studios are really cool..multiple shops and studios, salons, etc in a great old building. They share a reception area, everyone was very nice and welcoming. Mirka was amazing. You can tell she really loves what she does. I felt spoiled and pampered and my skin looks amazing! The microderabrasion was gentle and those bumps and spots are noticeably diminished. I will definitely be back. read more

The best place for braziliian waxes in this area. You get the red door spa treatment for an amazing price ($65 regular and $45 student). Mirka also offers great deals if you bring a friend. Seriously don't waste your time getting a brazillian anywhere else! read more

So, I purchased a groupon for a facial and read the raving reviews. My appointment was scheduled for 11 on a Saturday morning and when I arrived the very kind receptionist lead me into the waiting room. The salon is very nice as is the staff. I waited about 20 minutes when the receptionist apologized and informed me that mirka was actually out of town but that she had someone there covering for her that could see me. I said oh okay that's fine I'll wait. I waited about an hour a half and when the receptionist came to get me because she felt bad that I had waited so long when my appointment was set for 11. The receptionist apologized and asked me if I could reschedule or if I wanted the 215 appointment. Well I was already there so I decided to wait. I waited three hours for a facial and spent around $7 for parking. The woman who gave me a facial was very nice and did an okay job. I should have just rescheduled. Again, the salon and the staff itself is great! I emailed mirka after my appointment letting her know that I had purchased a groupon and the whole story. I informed her I was interested in another facial and if there was a possibility that she could give me a deal because I had waited three hours and because she had scheduled me wrong. Long story short she didn't even email back to apologize. So that's that. read more

Just had my first facial with Mirka a few days ago and my skin is still glowing! She gave me my first peel *which I was nervous about* and it went great. I had little to no irritation even after extractions. But the real test is that now 3 days later, I haven't had any breakouts! I would definitely recommend her! read more

Scared to post (STP). So this is one of those experiences that is so good and awesome you don't want to share so that you can always get an appointment and the prices won't go up. I had the best wax ever. Is that possible? Yes with Mirka it was true. Most of the groupons I buy I read reviews before purchasing. Everything that has already been sad is true!!!! Every woman needs a esthetician (sp) that they can be comfortable with like a girlfriend you have known for years. I was already booking my next appointment while still on the table in my head. Pampering yourself is so therapeutic especially when it is personalized and not like a factory. The area was clean and well organized. The towels were so nice I felt them multiple times because that is not the norm. The initial pull was well different because she does use hard wax. I have had hard wax on my eyebrows but never as a Brazilian. This may be my new and only way to go. The process while not pain free was to be expected but not awful. The conversation was so genuine and not forced. I will definitely be a regular. Thanks Mirka for allowing me to go back to hot yoga with a freshly waxed vj. read more

I have been going to Mirka for facials and waxing for over a year now. Not only is she a true professional, but she is so easy to chat with and can make you very comfortable while in a not-so-comfortable position. Not that Mirka even needs more positive reviews, but I have been going to her regularly for about 6 months and have no plans to stray! She is super personable and great at making you feel comfortable, even when you are getting waxed in the most uncomfortable place. She is very thorough with her waxing and will even remove any ingrown hairs you may have. While still painful, the hard wax is definitely less painful than other types and does a great job at removing hair from the root.
