They have different specialties depending on the day of the week, so it's worth checking the schedule. just keep in mind that some dishes are available only for a limited time and need to be ordered early. We came on Thursday and the deer cutlets were definitely a highlight. The veal medallions were excellent as well. And of course, you have to try the in-house Lehner's beers. Finish it all with an affogato coffee and you've got yourself a pretty perfect meal. Service was pleasant, attentive, and full of little details that make a difference. The outside patio is simple and cute, while the interior has a charming old-style feel with wooden furniture. Even the restrooms deserve a mention - surprisingly upscale, spotless, and equipped with everything you could possibly need (paper towel dispenser). Great food, in-house brewed beer, friendly service, and a very authentic atmosphere.

We had a tough time deciding what to order, so we had two classic soups (including a liver dumpling one), a mixed plate of roast pork, and a pork and veggie mix on an iron platter. Wish we had more time, more skill ordering, and more people to share this experience with. the crackling on my roast pork was the best I've ever had (maybe I've forgotten others, but it was right up there). We had so much, I had to take home over half the two slices, with potato dumplings and sweet saurkraut. What a meal. And a small glass of wheat beer. Unbelieveable start to our journey!

It's all of that and then some. In summer you can sit next to the old well in the Renaissance courtyard, drinking a local organic beer or have a glass of Austrian wine. In winter you can eat in the cozy tavern that makes you feel that it's been here for centuries. It has typical Austrian food. It's delicious but not exactly healthy. They do offer vegetarian meals but that will be the only meal that will have vegetables. The wait staff is amazing. The first time I went with my local family and we were treated wonderfully but I knew that my cousins were regulars. The second time I went without them and the staff was still amazing. You go for the history and the ambiance but you'll go back for the food and drink.

After having been on the road for several weeks already and not always eating the best food throughout the day, I decided to treat myself to a vegetable-forward dinner. A quick internet research led me to this place and I made a reservation for one. I wasn't disappointed at all. In fact, this was the best meals I've had in a long time. What I loved most about this place is how they structured their menu: vegan and vegetarian dishes first and then - almost as an afterthought- come the meat dishes. Well done! I'd cycle all the way to Linz again for this place.
