Goodness gracious was this a sad experience. I was super jazzed to find a groupon for them at a great deal. With a studio apartment I figured it was a nice treat to get a deep clean. False. I called and called and finally got a hold of them through the number on the website. It was 4:30pm and it was someones home number and they asked me to call back at 12-1pm the next day to schedule. After another week I finally got on the calendar for a month later. When I called to confirm the day before (I had to take off work) they forgot about me! And... the cleaning itself was terrible and awkward. I could have done a better job with some Clorox Wet Wipes. read more

Incredibly disappointed in my experience with Miracle Maids. This was my first time hiring a service to clean my house and I am moving out, so I was hopeful that this would be a great way to make my house perfect for the next tenant. Boy, was I wrong. First, the women who came to clean were late by a half an hour. I took off work to greet them, so it was quite disappointing to have my time disrespected like that. Secondly, they only stayed a half an hour. For a $140 service, this doesn't seem fair. Finally, the cleaning they did was the easy stuff that I can do. In fact, I had just vacuumed yesterday. They only vacuumed, wiped my counters and mopped my floors (but not hand washed - just with a standing mop). The Miracle Maids website lists over 2 dozen tasks that they will do which were not done at my house (dusting, microwave, hand washing floor) and since my house is basically empty for my move, I thought they would be willing to do a few extras (windows, walls, etc). I wish I would've seen the reviews prior. I just had my house cleaned and they did NOT do a good job! It took the lady 4 days to return my call and to schedule an appointment. I was then asked to pay a service charge (over $15). I left a note with a tip for them to mop my laundry room floor. They took the cash, but did not mop the floor. They also did not make my bed! I have used cleaning services in the past, and they are not up to par. I am very glad I only paid $69. Still though, their service was not worth the $69. I do not recommended them! read more

My experience was very very similar to the others reviewing them before me. I wish I had seen these reviews first. Terrible service. First, they gave me a 4 HOUR arrival window. If I had four hours to sit at home waiting for them, I'd clean the house myself. On top of that, they arrived 1.5 hours AFTER the window I was given. When called at the end of the 4 hour window to ask where they were, the owner (I assume) said "Oh they are still coming. They had a late start." What does that mean? Did they oversleep? When they finally called to say they were on their way, they had to ask me for directions (hello? Google Maps? GPS?), and then came into my house without waiting for me to answer the door. Very unprofessional. The cleaners were apathetic, did a terrible job, and simply said "we're done" and started to walk out the door. I had been told they would stay for 2.5 hours. They barely stayed for 1 hour. Will never even consider using them again even if I had a full refund. In June I purchased a Groupon for three two-hour sessions of house cleaning with Maid Perfect (also known as Miracle Maids). The first session took place this past week, and was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences, start to finish, that I have ever had. Some of the issues I encountered: -Difficulty scheduling - I had to call three times to make the appointment. -Poor communication of additional costs - When confirming the appointment, the representative asked for my credit card, stating that I was required to pay $22 in taxes and service fees. I thought this was a bit high on top of the Groupon cost, but agreed to pay. The next day, they charged $42 to my card. When I called to inquire, I was told that the $22 was for the first session, and that I was charged an additional $10 for each of the two remaining sessions. I voiced my displeasure at being charged more than I had approved, but let the charge stand. -Poor communication of time allotment - I expected 2 actual hours of service, not two people for one hour. I understand the logic here, but feel that it should have been communicated up front. -Damage to my property - The cleaning crew stripped the paint off of my range hood (over the stove). -Poor customer service interaction with the owner - The owner, Cheryl, was dismissive and curt when I called to report the damage. She made it clear that she didn't believe that her employees or the products that they used would cause damage. -Belligerent and insulting interaction with employee - After I reported the damage to Cheryl, one of the two representatives who did the actual cleaning called me and denied the damage. In the course of the conversation, he made derogatory comments about my home, accused me of lying, and stated that he "knew I would be a problem" based on how I treated them when they were at my house. His accusations were unfounded and highly insulting, especially the insinuation that I judged them based on race. I did report this to Cheryl. I have notified Cheryl that due to these issues, I am not comfortable continuing to use their services and would like her to refund the $20 in taxes and service fees that were charged for the second and third visits (which, as noted, were charged ahead of service.) I have yet to hear back from her or see a credit to my charge card. 9/6 UPDATE - The $20 refund, see above, was completed today. read more

If there was a "Zero" stars, that would have been the rating. I made the appointment for Miracle Maids and was excited to get a deep cleaning as I am 8 1/2 months pregnant and hand washing floors and dusting up high isn't easy. Well, when I got home to inspect the job done, I was disgusted to find the floors had not been mopped, vacuumed or even swept it seemed. In addition, there was a dirty rag left behind in the bathroom and hardly anything was cleaned. I paid for a 3 hour service and could have done a better job myself in less than an hour. I even left a nice note, some snacks and beverages for the cleaners, and they sure helped themselves to that! In fact, I think they spent more time eating and drinking than they did cleaning. I called that night to let the owner know how disappointed I was, and never heard back! They called a week later to "schedule an appointment" and I was able to voice my concerns, but they insisted the cleaners stayed for over 3 hours and mopped all the floors. Perhaps I should consider any cleaning I don't have to do a miracle but I was really disappointed in the Miracle Maids service. I bought a three cleaning Groupon for $159 and today was my second cleaning. I thought that maybe the first cleaning they just sent out some lazy people. Or maybe I was supposed to leave a tip (which I did this time). Nope, I just think the Miracle Maids company is bad. The first time I'm not sure what things they did, but mop the floor was not one of them. Therefore I left a note today saying "cleaning priorities are to sweep and mop the floor and disinfect the bathrooms." And that is ALL they did. For two hours, REALLY? No vacuuming, no dusting, didn't wipe down my glass tables (which I'm sure of since there are small food spills still on both). And they didn't even bother to do the floor in my small laundry room. I also wonder why I found my dustpan in my recycling bag. Aren't cleaning services supposed to bring their own supplies. And, hey, if you do need to use something I don't mind really. But put it back rather than leave it in the garbage. I wonder if I call Groupon if I can cancel my third cleaning and get my money back... I wouldn't give this business any stars, but I was forced to give at least one. I had a Crowd Cut deal for a 3 hour house cleaning for $65. When I called to schedule my cleaning, I was informed that the cleaning would actually be an additional $16 to cover mileage and tax. Then, when the day arrived that my cleaning was scheduled for, nobody showed! I called the business number several times and no one answered. I left several messages and emails and finally received a call later that day saying that someone in the crew was sick, which is why they didn't show. Wouldn't it have been nice for them to call me to inform me of this earlier that day so I didn't wait around for them all day?! They ended up coming a few days later and did a decent job. Nothing to write home about. Well, unfortunately, I purchased two Crowd Cut vouchers for this company and just scheduled my second cleaning. Once again, I've been waiting around for them all morning and still haven't seen or heard from them. This is completely unacceptable to me. People hire other people to clean their home because they don't have time to do it themselves. Clearly the owner of this business, Cheryl Barnes, does not understand that. Time is money and they have wasted enough of my time and money. I will be using a more reliable cleaning crew in the future. Purchased a groupon, in hopes of finding a long term cleaning service, but this will definitely not be it. -scheduling process took days and needs improvement -after purchasing the groupon, additional charges were required that were not stated in the groupon terms -cleaners arrived at the very end of their large 9am-4pm window of time that they gave us without prior notice as they told us when scheduling that we would receive a phone call when the cleaners were on their way -cleaners arrived smelling like cigarette smoke -actual cleaning was poor, surface cleaning only, leaving a residue on our hardwood floors, residue also left on sink and bathroom fixtures I do not recommend this service. VERY Shady! I would NEVER go with this cleaning service again!!!!!!!! I bought a "deal" through living social and thought I would give this company a try. Big mistake! I was charged additional fees when booking my appointment which were not disclosed in the "deal" The cleaning people did not show up in the time frame promised. My whole house was not cleaned. I purchased a voucher to clean between 1500 and 2500 sq feet. My home is 1600 sq feet. I was told that the sq feet is converted to hours and that they ran out of time. It wouldn't be so bad if what they actually had time for was exceptionally clean but it wasn't and I needed to re-clean the entire house myself. The person I talked to resolve the issues was extremely rude and condescending, Use this company at your own risk!! I wish I read the reviews before buying a groupon for 6 cleaning sessions. I scheduled 2 appointments up front. The fist one was just for bathrooms and the kitchen and the second session was actually a double session to give them time to clean the whole house. The first session (bathrooms and kitchen) - I could see there was someone in the bathroom because my hand towels we folded differently. Beyond that - I could not tell that anything was touched. The kitches was worse. The sink was not even wiped out. The second session was two days later and meant to vacuum, dust and wash the floors - they came with the wrong instructions and insisted they are only there to clean the bathrooms and kitchen and they stayed for less than one hour instead of two. Miracle Maids is a total waste of time and complere ripp-off. I will not even use the 3 sessions I have left. read more

I agree with the previous reviews. This was my first time paying to have my house cleaned and I wasn't all that impressed (thankfully I also purchased the service at a discounted price through Star Tribune Steals). It was cleaner when they left than when they arrived, but there were still things missed in the shower and bathrooms so I ultimately ended up cleaning those again myself. And I was also disappointed when it came to cleaning the floors since they just used a swiffer wet mop rather than actually washing the floors. But they did vacuum all the stairs (no other floors - I also did that after they left), "clean" all the bathrooms, dust the furniture and some of our woodwork, wipe down the kitchen, and swiffer the floors during their time at our house. When I scheduled the appointment I was told I'd receive an email confirmation the day before with the time I should expect them. I didn't receive anything and when I called to try and find out, all I got was an answering machine. You can never call to talk to a live person, you always have to leave a message and sit and wait for them to call back. Honestly I was just happy they showed up since I too took the day off work and didn't know if they would. Three days after our house cleaning we received a message on our answering machine that was very confusing asking me to call back to confirm the time of our cleaning. If i could give zero or negative stars I would. One star seems too generous. Let me start off by saying I used Miracle Maids before (late spring) and they did a really good job. So, I didn't hesitate to purchase an on-line deal for them. It cost $69 and said it was $139 value. My normal cleaning lady charges $75 for my house so I thought I would be getting a very deep cleaning considering the declared value. I don't think they turned the vacuum on in my house and I'm not exaggerating. My furniture was not vacuumed, neither set of my stairs were vacuumed, nor was my living room or kitchen. They wiped down the counters and may have wiped out the bathtub (I honestly can't tell). That's it. WTH?? The fact that my phone calls were not returned is not surprising. I have used a house cleaning service for 5 years and this was the WORST experience EVER. RUN away from this unprofessional company!! Don't waste even $69 for a "house cleaning". read more

I'm generally of the opinion that if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all... and most of the reviews I've posted are usually rave reviews for awesome service I've received. Unfortunately, I cannot say something nice about Miracle Maids... and the truth is, their service was so bad, that I feel I have to post to warn others. I only wish I had seen the other reviews posted on here before I'd attempted employ their services. To be clear, I have never even had them come to my house to clean, so I can't speak to their actual ability to get the job done... because I couldn't even get them to my house! But the time I spent dealing with the service on the phone wasted nearly a full hour of my time over several days. Ironic, since my purpose in buying the Groupon was to save time! I purchased a Groupon for 3 visits in preparation of having out of town guests. I called several times attempting to set up the initial cleaning which I bought well over a month before my guests would arrive. It took ever 2 weeks, and multiple messages from me to receive a return call and the cleaning couldn't be scheduled for another month!!! I explained that I purchased the services to have a clean house in advance of my guests arrival. The scheduler told me she would have the owner call me back to schedule but she needed my credit card to charge a trip fee and tip. What?!? I explained I would tip AFTER the service was complete and in accordance to how well the work was preformed. I did give the credit card for the trip fee which was not disclosed in the Groupon. When the owner called me back she was able to set up a time for the initial visit one day before my guest was to arrive (32 days after I purchased the Groupon). This was all very frustrating, but I was glad to at least be on their schedule. Unfortunately, on the day they were to arrive, no one showed up! I called the owner and she apologized asking if she could send someone out 3 days later (which would have fallen right in the middle of my guest's visit... all of which had been explained to both the owner and scheduler previously). I told her this was not acceptable, I had allowed plenty of time to get my house cleaned, did she have another team to cover for her in such an emergency? She said she did and would send someone right over. After 30 minutes, no one arrived! I called back and the owner seemed surprised. She'd find out what was going on a call me back. Another 30 minutes, I placed another call to the owner. I was told they would be to my house shortly, they were coming from a town 10 minutes away. Another 30 minutes and by now I have my house is nearly completely cleaned by myself (it's not a huge house and I'm single... I just wanted to have one less thing to worry about while prepping for my guest's arrival). I called the owner, told her her people never showed up and asked for a refund... which she gave me... that was the easiest part of the entire interaction! I then called Groupon and shared my concern and received a refund from them. I truly hope anyone else who attempts to do business with Miracle Maids has a better experience than I did. At least by posting this I hope people will know that it may not be the time saving service you are hoping for. read more

This cleaning service is a complete scam. I wish I would have read these reviews before purchasing a Groupon a few months ago. The voucher was finally redeemed today and the service was devastating. The scheduling was difficult. The service was unprofessional. The cleaners did not stay for the amount of time that I paid for, which MIGHT have been acceptable had they deep-cleaned all of the areas I had requested in a timely manner. The main office is very unprofessional. It took a while to get a hold of them and when I was finally called back, the woman acted like I was bothering her. Also, if you get a LivingSocial, Groupon or other daily deal with this company, they still charge you $15 for a transportation fee. This definitely put a red flag in my mind about how they operate. These costs should be baked into their total charge and it looks like another review had a similar charge but for a different reason. It's clear that customer service is not a priority for this company and they really need to improve how they manage execution. As far as the actual cleaning went, the cleaners did a good job. They cleaned things that I usually don't get to like my mini-blinds! Let me be clear - this poor review had nothing to do with the actual people cleaning my house, but rather the people owning the company. This is the second time that they have not even shown up even though I double and triple confirmed our appointment. I bought the deal from Groupon based on square footage based on their green cleaning. It took me a day or two to get ahold of Cheryl, but once I did it was easy. My first choice wasn't available but it's only because I was trying to book to close to the date. My only hitch was I thought I agreed to a day with a time between 9 - 12 and the confirmation came back (two days before) as the same day but between 12 - 4. Not that big of a deal for me but it could be for others. We got the "head's up" call they were on their way between the hours of 12 - 4 and arrived within the time they said (call at 2:40, arrival time before 3:00). Once here the team of two guessed their total time would be under 2 hours and it was. They were fast, thorough and friendly. Everything that we asked to be done was. It's very nice to wake up to a clean home and have such nice people preform the task. I did buy a second certificate which I plan on using shortly and would seriously consider hiring them on a semi-regular basis. Realize it's a smaller operation, but it's very personal. That may mean a longer wait for service but you will get more attention that a larger scale organization. read more

They were there for a total of 10 min., and they simply disappeared. They did not say goodbye - they didn't say anything at all. They just walked out to their car and left. Called the unbelievably rude owner who told me that the house was "too messy" to clean. I told her that I had another cleaning company who managed this house fine. Did NOT show up on date scheduled after calling twice to assure appointment. Had to reschedule around their schedule! We live in a rambler and completely organized so they could deep clean. WRONG! Cleaned 3 glass tables, did NOT clean the other 2 tables, built in or the small tv stand or tv screen. Semi cleaned the bathroom (though left everything out of position). Cleaned around items on kitchen counter. Did NOT sweep or mop ANY of our floors...at all! There were footprints across the kitchen floor! Did NOT touch our family room, I guess because I didn't call back to tell him what to do! All in all he did about 30-45 minutes worth of work at best. So much for $60 for 2 hours! RIP OFF!!! Horrible (ongoing) experience. I bought a Groupon and thought they did a fine job cleaning our house, nothing exceptional. We've been disappointed with all of the cleaning services we've used through Groupon, Crowd Cut, etc. So, after several crappy experiences, we decided to go with Miracle Maids and see how it worked out. I called to set up an appointment, which they require. For reasons that became evident, they need to have an appointment process with written documentation. They never showed up on 2/27, the scheduled day. Instead, I called about an hour into the appointment and the owner said she would look into it. I went to work. Several hours later in the afternoon I received a voicemail saying I "wasn't on the calendar." I never heard any follow up or explanation at all, and figured that was the end. A month later, at 9:30 while I was at work, I got a voicemail that a cleaner was trying to get into my house. I followed up the next day and told them not to send cleaners to my house. The next month I got another voicemail from a cleaner saying she was trying to get into my house. This time I wrote an email explaining that they should never send any cleaners to my house again. The best part: Miracle Maids had billed for for all 3 of the cleanings, even though they never provided any service at all! I contacted Miracle Maids and requested they refund my credit card for the 3 cleaning services. They never responded to me. I contacted my credit card and disputed the charges, and Miracle Maids still continued to refund all 3 of the charges. I will now file suit to recoup the money and will update this post as the saga continues. In the meantime, I strongly discourage anybody from using this company. read more

Called them back the same day 3 hours later and they apologized and said they would send someone our in two days. The day came and no one arrived at the appointment time, they sent someone out two hours after the appointment time when no one way home and charged me a trip charge, with out service. The person on the phone would hang up on me and not refund or rescheduled a time. Run away this company should be turned over to the Attorney General. I agree with the previous reviewers - this was by far the WORST cleaning experience I've had. I purchased a deal through a daily deal website for two cleanings. The first cleaner was 1.5 hours late and didn't stay for the full time I had paid for. He also missed several tasks from their "standard cleaning" list. When I wrote to complain, I received a nice response from their customer service stating my cleaner's name for next time AND that she would stay an extra half hour. Then the guy that had cleaned my house CALLED ME to ask what had been unsatisfactory and then told me I had done something wrong by not leaving a detailed list. Seriously?!?! I've never had to do that before. When the second cleaning date came around, I received a call from the person I had set the appointment up with. She was confused about the deal I had purchased and wanted to confirm. Then I received another call from someone who said she was scheduled to clean my house but wanted to reschedule because of car trouble (this was NOT the person that I had been told was coming to clean my house on this date). Whatever. So I rescheduled. Two cleaners showed up (late) and did a better job than the first guy but still missed several items from the standard cleaning. Seriously? You can't pull the cover up on my bed and straighten the pillows as your standard cleaning list says? Needless to say, I will NOT be using this service again. Called back on the day of, only for the admin to tell me the crew was off on that day and they thought there were no appointments for the day. I don't expect to use to use them again. I completely agree with reviewer Kristine Y, regarding Miracle Maids. If you see this as a Groupon special, Amazon Deals, (or any kind of "deal") run the other way! The owner was very condescending. She spoke to me as though I told her I have 2 small dogs, and had concerns about someone being "ok" with them. She assured me that all of her cleaning crews are dog-friendly, not to worry. So... I received a call from one of the women, saying they were afraid of the dogs and that this is a BIG problem. I called the owner, who then called the cleaning woman and calmed them down. She called me back and said they would be fine. This is not what I paid for. My tv's had both been turned on, I know because they were on channels I don't watch. I wouldn't mind this, had my house been cleaned, but it wasn't. The floors seemed to have been spot cleaned, the sofa had not been vacuumed (which I specifically requested). The only thing they did well was the dusting. Seriously. That's what I paid, for dusting? They cleaned my bathroom sink and toilet but didn't wash the floor. When I got home from work that day, I called the owner to express my dismay. I got her voicemail, but she must avoid negative feedback because she never called me back. I would have been satisfied with a return visit to clean my home, but after several attempts to reach her, I gave up. I specifically purchased the Amazon Deal to have my home cleaned for a Christmas eve family gathering. I had another cleaner come back and actually do the cleaning for me. Finally, of all the ridiculous things, last week she called and left me a voicemail asking if I'd be interested in being on their email list, to be notified of other specials, etc. Good Grief, NO! I called back and told her to lose my number. I reminded her of who I am, and told her that her management skills are lacking, to call me back after all these months, when she wouldn't return my call and make amends at the time of "service". I wish I had checked reviews prior to purchasing my Groupon for Miracle Maids. Luckily, I was able to get my money back from Groupon since I ended up not using the service. First of all, it took them 4 days to return my multiple calls. Once they finally called, they tried to charge me a $15 "gas" money fee upfront. When I questioned why it was so high and not stated in the Groupon voucher she said it's really gratuity. Well, what maid service actually DEMANDS gratuity up-front?! No show on day of appointment. No one called. Call and left VM multiple times after no show without reply. It's like the business is bankrupted and disappeared in thin air. Left VM at last to ask for refund for the bundle package (6 visits) on charged taxes and pre-paid $10 tip per visit, no reply yet. Took a day off from work sitting at home waiting around for them. This is a pattern as you can see. Now, I know I was not alone. This company is not professional. The owner is rude and their service (even in terms of scheduling) is terrible. If you are planning to use this housecleaning company, or buying a web coupon from them. BE AWARE! I honeslty advice you DO NOT DEAL with this business. There are many others good housecleaning services in the twin cities. The owner left me talking on the phone, I was so upset that I cried. I just gave birth, so maybe there is some of postpartum effect. However, I haven't be treated that badly before by a housecleaning company. Do they think they are giving us a gift by offering their service? We do pay and we are the clients. I have had positive experiences with other businesses in this sector. Again, check for customers' reviews. I can tell you it is not a coincidence this company has only 1 start (if we can leave 0 start we would do it, believe me!) Lesson: DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! They did not come to the house before to check the size or what we wanted. Didn't even ask if we had animals. Scheduling was terrible. Took me a month of calls and emails to finally get the dates and then no reminder calls or follow up. The day of the cleaning they did not arrive when stated and went to areas they were not authorized. They did a horrible job of cleaning. Floors were sticky and didn't even look like they cleaned the areas they stated. Then we found $240 missing. We called the owner and also filled a police report. The owner stated she terminated the people doing the cleaning, then changed it to only the new person. She would not reimburse us or even offer us our money back when we asked for a refund. She offered to send a new team out. I think NOT! You were awful the first time and stole from us why would I allow you back into my home again. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They have many reports filled against them with the Better Business Bureau. read more

if there was zero star choice, that's what i would rate these folks. they never did show up. as with the reviewer above, i got the run around on several occasions instead of them actually showing up. they entice customers thru the groupon style websites, that way they do not have to give the refund. stay away. these people belong in jail. read more

I too wish I had read this review prior to purchasing their ticket. I was encouraged to leave my house while cleaning was taking place. I left a nice tip for the 2 ladies that were going to clean my home. I came home to a place that was not so clean. More than half of the things they had stated that would be cleaned were not even touched. I should mention, being paranoid, the night before I hid any thing I felt to be valuable. A couple of things I thought of hiding, but thought that there is no way they would have the balls to take this stuff. Well they did!!!!! I immediately called the company and the owner states she doesn't believe the girl who cleaned would do something like that. I then stated that maybe the other girl had. The owner then told me there was only one girl there. I assured her there were two! She refused to do anything about it. I filed a police report, but nothing has been done. A month later I noted other items to be missing. I feel violated and disappointed how someone could do something like this. If you want to hire these people to clean your house, oh they will! Worst service ever! Many of the "standard" items were not even cleaned (sink, microwave, vacuuming, beds, floor), and yet when we called to complain, we were not offered any apology or compensation. I can't believe we paid $89 and still had a dirty house. This was an upgraded Living Social deal that turned out to be our biggest disappointment. We've used other online vouchers for local cleaning companies and have a good idea of the standards, but this company is a joke. It taught us a valuable lesson about checking out a company before handing over the money for the voucher. read more

Shockingly bad. I purchased 3 cleanings through Groupon, and the "standard" services they offered on their site is NOT what I received. The owner said "that's if we lived in a perfect world, but we don't." I told her that's not what standard means. It took 4-5 days to get a call back after I left a message (!) to make an appointment. Then they cleaned for a little over an hour for $140 worth of cleaning. In addition, I was charged EXTRA for tax and tip. The Groupon prople couldn't find this condition anywhere on the offer, but I didn't want to lose what I had already paid, so I went ahead resentfully. But their groupon reminds you to "tip generously", so that seems like a total scam. One time, the guy was supposed to call me before he came so I could come & unlock the door, but he didn't, so he just left. When I rescheduled, he was 3 hours late.
