This is nerve damage that won't get better with time. We discussed options and while I ultimately decided not to purchase the aids right now (these things are very expensive - from every/any where), the office has remained a tremendous help. Just today I requested a copy of my test, and information about how to cancel a financial account. I got my answer back within minutes. This was the 4th place that I went to get my cataracts fixed. If not for that 3+ year journey, I…read morewould not have a proper appreciation for finding Dr. Shah and all of the staff I encountered. More details below, but my experience here was the most professional medical experience I have had for many years - with one minor exception. The first place I went was where my cataracts were diagnosed, but when I called them to confirm my follow up appointment the next year it was not possible to just speak to a person. The second place left me alone in a room for a long time, the doctor asked me no questions and did not seem to have read my history. After a screaming match erupted outside the door, I knew I would not be back. The third try was not lucky either. After more than six months and my pre-op appointment, just days before the surgery I was contacted by an uninformed underling telling me that it was being canceled without any explanation offered. After I demanded that they contact my cardiologist and PCP they tried to reschedule it for deep in the winter. I no longer had enough trust in their professionalism to proceed. While the medical team at Eyecare Medical Group was absolutely A+ at all times and the scheduling office could probably use a better check list. It resulted in a temporary glitch that was worked out quickly and with extreme good graces. In the end I would do it all over again if I had to, but my vision came out practically perfect, so sadly I won't be back. They have created an exceptional template for handling out-patient procedures that the rest of the medical industry would do well to follow. P.S. As I was going in for my first appointment a gentleman and his wife were walking out. Unprompted he told me it was a great place, which proved to be accurate!
