After x-rays and other tests, the Dr. on duty said I needed to go to the ER. I had pneumonia (fluid in both lungs) and substantial fluid around my heart. The hospital agreed, and I was sent for surgery. I'm still recovering at home, but I know without a doubt that Carespot saved my life. When I walked in, the receptionist rudely yelled, "Do you have an appointment?!" with no greeting or professionalism. She continued to be rude, harsh, and spoke very loudly while attending me, which made the experience even worse. The office wasn't busy, yet there were still three of us waiting while staff chatted instead of working. When I was finally called back, the nurse addressed me only by my last name with no greeting, which felt cold and unprofessional. The one positive was that the nurse practitioner who saw me was nice and welcoming, but the process overall could have been much more efficient. Front desk and nursing staff set the tone for a visit, and in this case it was negative enough to make me consider going elsewhere.

So, after a month since the MRI, they called back and said my son had to make an appointment to get the results. The day of the appointment they asked for the CD from the MRI center. Mind, they never mentioned that when we called to make the appointment or emailed or texted asking to bring it. The lady at the front desk with the pony tail had an attitude and was rude when I showed her the text my son got not mentioning any CD. So, my son had to go back home to get it. We were taken back to a clean, well appointed examination room where Julia and Aimee took Mom's vital signs and really listened to her complaint. After which we had about a ten minute wait for our friendly care provider; Regi, reviewed the notes for Mom and then explained what they could do for her to ease her pain and provide us with a detailed explanation of what we could expect. There's no appointments but you can do the preregistration online to save time as well as view the wait times. There are 2 doctors I normally see, Dr Kelly and Dr Yi. Both are great. They spend time with you and go over your concerns. This last time I ran into a little trouble - apparently UHC does maintenance on Sundays, so they charge a flat rate of $50 because they can't run your insurance. I was told to call and they would rerun it and send whatever you were owed back to your card-- so don't get sick on Sunday's haha. The office staff is helpful if you have to call and get a follow up or refill a prescription. I know I need to get a PCP eventually, but it's nice knowing this place is right down the street when I need it.

They are not there to give you an earnest diagnosis, they want to get you in and out the door as quickly as possible to cash in on your insurance. My brother in law went in with severe abdominal pain, extremely high blood pressure and heart-rate, a fever and several other conditions that were obviously severe in nature. They sent him home within a few minutes of looking at him despite the severity of his symptoms. Within 24 hours, he was dead. The hospital was shocked and confused as to how appropriate medical attention was not taken a day earlier. Keep in mind he was very young (40) and in good shape-- it was determined he had experienced organ failure over several days which ultimately killer him. How a "urgent care" could be so shockingly obtuse is more than incompetence or negligent. It's genuinely evil. I will be telling everyone far and wide to avoid this location at all costs, if they had done their job he would still be alive. Horrifying.
