I flew into Orlando for a convention, staying near the Orange County Convention Center. I came down with a sudden illness - something that is out of the ordinary for me. I was fearing that I would have to postpone my travels back home because I would be too ill for flying.
After seeing what the local options were, I was glad to find a MinuteClinic close by the conference. I checked online for the wait time, it wasn't long at all, and I made my way there.
I ended up speaking to the manager of the store who was truly wonderful and sympathetic for me feeling ill. The RN was phenomenal, performed a few tests, and ordered me up some meds (for pick-up right there at CVS!). She told me signs to be aware of, and if those appeared to go to the nearest hospital; she told me where the hospital is and also offered up a suggestion for an immunity booster, and showed me her choices right there in the store.
The next morning, I was feeling marginally better and nearly 24-hours later I was feeling nearly 100% myself. I was able to rejoin the remaining portion of the conference.
When I was leaving the store, the manager wished me well and hoped that I would feel better soon. Really nice and caring folks. read more
