I'll be honest, I had never heard of Carbon Health, but I needed a quick visit and found them…read morein-network on my insurance provider's website. I booked an appt for the very next morning online and got there right as they opened for my 9 am visit. There were 2 other folks in line before me who had times after mine (9:15 am), but I'm not gonna hate on them for being more punctual. So, just something to keep in mind if you like being on time. Stormy at the front desk was super nice and welcoming, too. Overall, this was an efficient visit. I don't think I waited longer than 10 mins in the lobby before I was called back for vitals. There was some time between that and actually talking to the physician, but not that long. I felt the staff were professional and cared. I was in and out of there in under an hour. After my visit was done, Stormy let me know there are other locations where I'm from in TX, so that was definitely good to know for future use. I know some reviews have mentioned shady business as far as charges go, but I can't speak to that. I was happy to see my copay was only $25. I'd say overall, it was good quality care for the experience.

I came in after a sports injury with what turned out to be a complete Achilles tendon rupture,…read moreconfirmed by MRI three days later. At my visit to Carbon Care, however, the PA diagnosed me with a partial calf muscle strain and confidently ruled out an Achilles injury without performing the Thompson test, which I found out is the standard clinical test for this exact injury. I was told to follow up in two weeks with no imaging ordered. I want to be fair, the staff was kind and the PA wasn't dismissive. However, if you're not an expert in something, it's also okay, and I believe your medical responsibility, to say you're not the expert and refer me to one. The missed diagnosis meant I left without the correct treatment plan for a serious injury, and I only got clarity by seeking a second opinion the next day. If you come in with a suspected Achilles injury, especially after a pop during push-off, I'd encourage you to ask specifically whether the Thompson test has been performed and push for immediate imaging to confirm. Don't let two weeks pass before finding out. Fortunately I had some strong advocates in my corner to push for a second opinion.

Signed up for a slot to be seen because I was worried that I had a punctured ear drum. 7/17/2022…read more The nurse practitioner called me before I came in at 9:12am. She was very dismissive and even after hearing what happened to me the last time I had a puncture (horrible pain, horrible bilateral infection, had to have a procedure done by an ENT, 3 rounds of antibiotics, pain meds, couldn't hear, and panic attacks), told me she would not prescribe an oral antibiotic because it was too soon for an infection to have developed and "that's not how antibiotics work." She stated that even for a perforation, ear drops are not recommended. When I asked what could be the possible reason that I was in excruciating pain just 4 hrs after the rupture happened last time if infections take 2 days to develop, the response was "It doesn't look like you were seen by anyone in Saint Luke's Health System for that, so I would be unable to comment on what happened before, I can only address what's happening now." She said there would not be anything she could do for me since I did not have an infection yet. The implication was clearly "Don't come in." Not a bit of compassion. I saw a doctor at a different urgent care who told me the nurse practitioner's medical advice was INCORRECT and unprofessional. She was concerned that it was someone in her system and if it had been she would have "called and yelled at them". Her words. My drum was not perforated, yet the doctor prescribed me antibiotic ear drops prophylactically based on my history. I would not trust the bit@h you have working there to treat my DOG. In the words of Big Sean, "I don't fu$k with you, you little stupid a$$ bit@h I ain't fuc$king with you."

Check in was easy, the receptionist was very helpful and efficient. My daughter was crying and in so much pain and the nurse Dani who got us back to the room and did her vitals was so caring and attentive. Dani was very sweet with my daughter and empathized with how bad she was feeling. She offered her water and turned the bright lights down lower when she left to get the doctor. She even heard my daughter say she was cold and said she would turn the thermometer up. I've never been to a walk-in where someone was so thoughtful. The doctor was also so kind and efficient. I think her name might have been Emily. We had a pretty sleepless night before walking into the clinic and they made it so easy. We were in and out with a prescription in 15 minutes. I would definitely go back.

She acted like it was crazy I didn't come without an appointment and told me there was no way she can tell how long my wait time would be. She could have said it in a much nicer way. You're dealing with sick people or people bringing in sick people who are vulnerable. I would never come here again. We went to Carenow and were treated much better.
