BLUF: a comfortable restaurant with good food and great service…read more I went to Providence Oyster Bar for their buck a shuck but then got pulled in by their restaurant week menu. The buck a shuck oysters were limited to only one type of oyster, so trying other varieties was at full price. There was good quality all over the oysters, and I very much appreciated their chalk board giving origin, size, and brine level. Also on the value menu were U8 shrimp cocktail, so I had to try that as well. Not often you'll see shrimp that large nowadays, but these shrimp did not have any flavor of their own. Also tried were grilled oysters, seafood pot pie, baked stuffed lobster, and bread pudding. The grilled oysters were wonderful bits of smoky meat that I was happy to have had. The baked stuffed lobster was mostly okay. The stuffing was very cracker heavy, so it conflicted with the seafood flavor as a result. The lobster itself was super tasty, and the shell was pre-cracked so easy to get into the claws and tail. The seafood pot pie was essentially a seafood Newburg with a puff pastry on top. The puff pastry was uncooked on the bottom, so it was gooey and I just put it on the side plate. The manager did ask if I wanted a new one but I did not. The bread pudding was a revelation in this dessert because they baked the slice so the slice had a nice toasty edge on every side. The only ding on the service was, as much as every need was anticipated, the dessert didn't get put in before the meal was done, so a 20-minute gap there. From an accessibility standpoint, this restaurant is a gem. The front entrance has a giant ramp, easy to open door, wide rows between tables, and accessible bathrooms.

They also have bins where you can build your own figure just like the regular LEGO store. In the back, is a private room where you can host a LEGO birthday party as well. In addition to selling, they also buy used LEGOs for a great price. My son was able to sell a few sets and get $50 in credit that he used for some new figures. The owners are knowledgeable about their LEGOs. I was looking to complete my LEGO Muppet collection and they were able to pick out the EXACT pieces I needed by feeling the bag. They also said if they got it wrong, they would let me pick another one. They are incredibly kind and patient with the kids and adult collectors. New sets are a little pricier than they would be at Target or somewhere else, maybe by a dollar or two, but worth it to support such a great small business.

The bride and I planned a pit stop on our way back from a wedding on the cape and thanks to Yelp,…read morewe found this fantastic restaurant which is located just outside of the busy downtown area. Fairly busy Sunday afternoon but we were quickly seated at the raw bar with a great view of the kitchen, which BTW is a well oiled machined and fun to watch, not quite as crazy as the Bear, but impressive. Tuna tartar to start followed by some delicious cherrystones then we split the Mussels in coconut milk with lemon grass and cilantro and some amazing sour dough bread for dipping. 10/10!!!

We…read morewere told by the host that they would bring us a high chair, but after waiting, our server eventually asked "do you want me to see if I can find a high chair?" We had the request in the notes of our reservation, so it's a shame they didn't have it set up for us when we walked in or at least upon sitting down. There's no kids menu, and the regular menu is very limited if you have a child with a food allergy. My son has an egg allergy, and there were barely any options for him. There wasn't even a simple chicken option on the menu. We ultimately settled on a grilled cheese because it was essentially the only thing that worked, and no one offered to modify something or suggest another option that could accommodate him. The service overall wasn't particularly attentive, which made the limited options even more frustrating. Unfortunately, the food itself also didn't live up to the hype for us. I understand not every restaurant caters specifically to families, but a little more attentiveness and willingness to accommodate a child with a food allergy would have gone a long way. Based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for families with young kids or dietary restrictions.
