Their phone / appointment staff are some of the rudest, least helpful people I've ever heard of…read more If you can go there in person and avoid calling them, go for it (the staff in the actual location that treat/help you in person are great, luckily) - but avoid getting on the phone with them at all costs. My wife has a foot fracture and was trying to schedule a follow-up appointment for a specialist, that the CityMD Urgent Care set up for her initially. She called them today to ask if she could be given an appointment a bit closer to home for us than what they'd initially set up - and was told that there might be another option in Queens. We asked for the address of said place in Queens. Kinda important, since we're dealing with a foot fracture and can't move around super easily. At least the block or thereabouts. The lady on the phone flat out REFUSED to give us the address, despite being asked THREE TIMES "please let us know what the address of this place is, so we can see how to get there". Every time she'd avoid giving us a straight answer, almost aggressively. Somehow, someway, the person on the phone simply would not provide a geographical location/address - and doubled-down by telling my wife "if you don't make a decision now, and if you have to cancel the appointment, you'll be in trouble later". We'd completely understand if there were some rule or regulation keeping her from giving us a street address - but she never mentioned anything along those lines. She simply tried to be as unhelpful and rude as possible. Absolute sham of a service, almost malicious incompetence on display. Hope other CityMDs have better staff.

A few years ago, we brought my son in and the staff quickly recognized that he had pneumonia. They were thorough, attentive, and would not allow us to leave until they arranged a transfer to Elmhurst ER, which I truly appreciated. During what was a very stressful and scary situation as a parent, they took the time to explain everything clearly and made my son feel calm, safe, and comfortable. On another visit with my youngest child, we again received excellent care. The staff was kind, patient, and reassuring, and we never felt rushed. This location is also never busier than expected, and the registration process is always quick and efficient, which makes a big difference when you're there with a sick child. Overall, we've felt well cared for each time and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Urgent care…read morefacilities were available all throughout Astoria, but the idea of a big brand in a spacious, new facility became an easy option for many folks needing check-ups. Most of my experiences at this location have been smooth and straightforward, which is more than I can say about similar clinics. They offer a range of services here from physicals to vaccinations and even medical tests such as lab screenings and x-rays. Women's health, pediatric care, and occupational medicine are all areas of their specialty. They've done a good job at maintaining the place, which is impressive given how many folks they see on a daily basis. The only time I've ever seen it crazy here was during the pandemic. Lines out the door for COVID testing and despite social distancing, it felt like there were endless heaps of people. If there was any blemish, it may be the people behind the desk. Pharmacy prescription issues to semi-standoff'ish behavior have been a drag, but save for the actual medical staff who work for keeping the experiences otherwise relatively stress free.

What they didn't explain, was that when I was supposed to return for the results the process begins again. Literally the whole process of forms and waiting. Took over 1.5 hours and they still didn't see me for the results. I suppose they do this for double-billing as a second visit. I'll monitor and revert in the meantime, my family and I are done coming here. I'm the meantime, the wait room is packed with people with all sorts of ailments and I'm questioning whether there's proper ventilation. Too bad the facility had great promise.
