Oh man, this was a tough one to write. I went in a few weeks ago to see Yvette. I came across her Instagram and was super hopefully she would be able to help me achieve my hair goal. I asked her is she could put me down for a full balayage hair color. I had it done a couple years before and loved it but I took a break in between and was ready to bleach my hair again. When I got there she said that she'd have to do a hair correction on my hair. I was so confused as to why since I didn't have any permanent hair color or bleach in my hair. I did have a little bit of color left from when I bleached it a few years ago but she said that wouldn't be a problem when I booked it. I won't bore you with other details but long story short; she charged me $400 for a " color correction", left my hair orange and told me it would take a few sessions to get my desired hair goals. I felt that all that was very unfair because $400 for a color correction that ended up turning my hair orange ( see picture below) was way too much. Going in for at least three sessions was also a lie as I had to see someone else to get me my desired results and she was able to do it in one session ( again, see picture below). And lastly, she said my hair turning orange was completely normal. I was absolutely devastated about the way my hair turned out and expressed that to her. But she kept insisting she didn't do anything wrong. I am just giving you a heads up that she charges way too much, wants you to do "sessions" which stylist who want to overcharge often say and will just take any client even and not give you the desired result. Take a look at the pictures below. These results don't lie. I have the inspo picture, what she did to my hair and the results of how another stylist was able to fix my hair to get my desired results. I went for the first time to this salon and was taken care of by Erika. I've been struggling to find a hairstylist for a long time, but I think I finally found the one. Erika was super friendly off the bat and helped me out with some hair concerns that I've been having. I love the way my haircut came out and I am totally looking forward to having fun with this new hairstyle. The view from the studio was so nice and the location was super convenient since I could walk around and go get a drink after my appointment and then head over to the mall right across the street. My hair is very thin and I am always so afraid of more hair falling out and Yvette has always taken such care with my hair and does just what is necessary to get my roots done and to keep my hair looking healthy. Very disappointing. I had made an appointment for a haircut with Kylie, and confirmed the numerous requests from the reservation app Vagaro to confirm my appointment for 5:30 on Thursday, January 24th. I showed up for my appointment, but no one else did, including Kylie! I arrived at 5:20 to a locked door...I waited a bit, and then called the salon phone number and left a message that I was waiting outside the locked door for my appointment with Kylie. I waited a bit longer, and then it finally occurred to me to look up at the second floor window where the salon is located. All dark. No one from the salon has contacted me to apologize or explain how this miscommunication might have happened - even after I confirmed numerous times. I used to love coming here to see Kylie, but this last time she truly showed her true colors! I've always paid $120 for a cut and balayage highlights. Went in for normal and Kylie seemed almost rushed I didn't pay any attention to it sense she had always done a good job before, after she washed it out I noticed it was a little darker and she said let me blow dry it. She blow dried it and styled it. I still wasn't sure but the way she styled it it looked okay when I went to pay she charged me $140 when I said oh it's went up and wouldn't even look me in the eye and said yea. The next day when I brushed it you could totally see how she messed up that she put none in the front and completely missed sections of my hair. It took her a whole day to get back to me and her response was pretty much "not problem" attitude. I asked her to please fix my hair she never got back to me then I said I wanted half my money back she then got back to me saying she can't refund me because she did what was asked I sent her a ton of pictures even contacting hair dresser friends to make sure I wasn't seeing things, and she still wouldn't admit to her mistake. She never got back to me about coming in and still hasn't to this day! It has been 2 weeks. I ended up going somewhere else to get my hair fixed and that hair dresser was shocked that I was even charged $140 because what she had done wasn't even a partial! In the end Kylie is young and unprofessional and I will not be going back to her. I can't speak for any of the other hair dressers, but my experience was terrible and I'm extremely disappointed! read more

I had a rather mixed experience here. Some aspects were above average, others were very disappointing, so overall, it was a bit below average. I bought a Groupon for haircut + highlights and wanted to use it a particular week when I needed to beautify myself for some visitors :) I called and got their answering machine over and over. I left a message on their facebook page which went unanswered. Then, instead of waiting for a call back, which wasn't happening for a couple days, I went into each stylist's mailbox to see if they had an additional # to be reached at. A couple of them did, and I sent them a text message. Yay! Then I got a text back! Eventually someone called me and we set up an appointment. It was easy to find and was quite a nice space. I really like the location on the 2nd floor with the view of downtown. It had an interesting perspective. The stylist, whose name I believe was Crystal, was sweet and had a nice way about her. She did my highlights quite well. They look natural, which is the main thing I'm looking for. The cut however...OH GOD THE CUT!! Want to cry still, but have to be strong. I had a previous cut problem that I was hoping to rectify. I made it crystal clear what I DIDN'T WANT, which was what I call my dog ears to be shortened. I have this annoying shelf (my other name for it) or layer that is too short and too abrupt and is quite a lot of hair all at the same level, instead of gradual layers. I was hoping she would fix it, make the layers gradual, break up the big chunk...BUT ALAS, I still have my dog ears:( She may have even elongated the shelf :( It was tragic. I don't think I would go back. I'll take my dog ears elsewhere, thank you very much ;-) read more

I had a great experience with Kylie and raves about her. My coworker reached out to her to schedule her granddaughter for a appointment and she felt she was rude in her text. I clarified with Kylie about the text and she didn't mean to across rude with her and text miscommunication. Kylie text me saying she would reach out to her and she never did. I text her again saying I don't want to be in the middle of a appointment being schedule and I didn't get a response and neither did my friend. I truly had a great experience but after this happening with my friend I am truly disappointed that my word of someone was brokenness to upset my friend that trusted me. Will never go back. I seriously don't even know where to start. I have had the worst luck with hair experiences, but Kylie is SO amazing at what she does. I had a serious issue with my hair after getting it done at a different salon, I absolutely hated it. I decided to try and find someone to fix my hair & I am so glad I chose Kylie. I sent her photos of my hair and she immediately sent me photos back of how she wanted to fix my hair and what she wanted to do. I gave her some inspos and she went with them! My hair was extremely red, so gross. She totally covered up all the red with a dark brown, and after blow drying my hair, she noticed there was still red in it and didn't settle. She told me she would go over it AGAIN after the whole process was done. She wanted perfection, and I am so glad she cared as much about my hair as I did. She's extremely passionate at what she does and literally SAVED my hair. She knew about my broke college kid situation, and gave me a very reasonable price. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE WITH KYLIE SLOAN! If I could give 0 stars to represent how unpleasant of an experience I had, I would. I found this salon through Groupon and looked up the hairstylist Kylie Sloan on Instagram. Her work looked beautiful so I purchased two groupon deals, one for my mom and one for myself. I had sent Kylie messages on Instagram prior to purchase only for her to leave me on read. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and made the online appointments anyway. On the day of my mom's appointment, 2.5 hrs prior to the appointment time, she texts my mom saying she is sick therefore canceling. My mom took the day off to get her hair done. We wish we got more of a notice before her canceling especially since the appointment wasn't until 1:30PM. We were annoyed of the situation but again decided that these things happen. So we messaged her to reschedule. We waited 3 days for a reply only to be left on read and IGNORED ONCE AGAIN. Then I go on to her Instagram account to discover that she no longer accepts new groupon customers. It made me doubt if she was even sick to begin with. I then messaged her again asking for clarification. She AGAIN left me on read. Kylie is EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND NONRESPONSIVE. I have never received such terrible customer service. Thank goodness Groupon offered my refund. I DO NOT RECOMMEND KYLIE SLOAN TO ANYONE. YOU WILL REGRET IT!! read more

Janel is fantastic at what she does-- she listens to what you want, gives some pointers, and works her magic, all while keeping you in the loop about what she is doing. I bought a Groupon for haircut with full highlights from this salon a couple of months ago. When I called to schedule the appointment, I was told that they were slammed with Groupons and that it could take upwards of 4 weeks to get an appointment. I was not happy with that answer. I explained that I had some interviews coming up and needed to be seen sooner, which ended up being 3 weeks from the time that I called. I had clarified with the studio before I purchased the Groupon the difference between a partial highlight and a full highlight. I purchased a full highlight because I wanted them all over my head. Once there, the stylist informed me that while the highlights would be placed through out my hair that she would start them two inches away from my part. In other words, they'd look like grown out highlights. I think the stylist's name was Crystal. Then she told me that for an additional fee she would start them at the part. I had only brought enough money for a tip so I was out of luck on getting decent highlights. She hurried through my haircut and was upset when I asked for it to be slightly shorter. I came home with part of the hair cut unevenly and had to finish it up myself. I did not even get the value of the Groupon out of this experience, let alone the supposed $170 value. I don't think I would go back nor would I recommend them to anyone else. read more
