We are very disappointed with our experience at Elite. We are a military family and recently moved…read morefrom VA to PA and we're looking for a new martial arts program for our 6 year old son. We were very clear in our expectations that we wanted our son to learn focus and discipline as he needs help harnessing his energy. After our initial meeting with the owner, we were excited but after classes began we quickly became frustrated. This dojo was not the same as our previous one, which was truly a family. The owner is not involved in the classes with the young kids. He stops by and they all bow but there is no real interaction or instruction from him. He doesn't spend any one on one time with the kids. Never asks how school is or asks the parents how the kids are doing at home. I feel like there is not as much structure to the program and there may be just too many kids in the classes to really get the most out of it. Our son is a very busy kid with a heart of gold. He gets excited very easily and loves martial arts. However, he needs structure and clear expectations. And did not do well here. There is very little emphasis put on character, health, or discipline. I deeply disliked that they gave out candy after each class. In addition, The parents watch the classes but there is very little community. I tried several times to meet other parents as we were new to the area and people were cordial but no one was particularly welcoming. The waiting area for Ninja trix is very cramped, the chairs are not comfortable and the waiting area is not really great for Covid distancing. The thing that has bothered us the most is the owner approached me after about 8 weeks of class in the small Ninja Tix area with other parents sitting next to me and told me he didn't think Zeke was a fit. He didn't ask to talk to me after class or privately. Or try to work with me on strategies to help my son be successful in his program. He just gave up on him without really even getting to know him. I was shocked. I truly feel like this program is more concerned with getting as many kids into the program/money and not working with the kids they have. It makes us genuinely sad that this is the case. Since we were ultimately asked to leave the program, we asked for our prorated deposit back. They did not deliver on our expectations and did not want to provide the service offered. They refused to refund that money. We purchased a uniform and gear for Trix class and now have no use for that. I feel like this is a very greedy way to run a business. As a military family we don't have tons of extra resources, so this is exceptionally challenging. I understand that not every program may be a good fit for certain kids who have high energy and challenges with focusing , but at least you should not keep their money. And for this reason, I will not be recommending this martial arts center and I will tell as many people as I can about my experience so they don't lose their money and so their kid doesn't have the same disappointment my kid experienced. If your kid has any issues, like ADHD, ADD, Autism or is simply a high energy kid, this program is not for them.

Good class, my daughter is getting back into martial arts. Elite Martial Arts checked all the boxes…read morein terms of ease, access, and quality.
