As a real estate agent I keep my eyes open for good loan officers.
I listed a house for sale in Bloomington,MN and received an offer to purchase within a few days.
With a couple of "back & forths" we agree to terms on April 22, 2020. We are supposed to close tomorrow, June 19th, 2020.
I kept wondering when the appraisal would be done.
A few weeks before the scheduled closing date I called the buyer's loan officer and left messages asking about the appraisal. They would need to contact the listing agent (me) to schedule that. After a few days I received a call from this loan officer who told me it would be done that Saturday (6/13/2020). But no calls or emails or text messages did I receive to set up the appraisal. Then I was told it would be Monday (6/15/2020).
Just got the request for the appraiser to come through (which is needed to close the loan) next Friday, June 26th, 2020.
But wait, aren't we supposed to close June 19th, 2020, tomorrow.??
Poor attention to detail means my seller cannot perform at the closing of the house he was going to buy and those sellers cannot move on to close on the house that they were going to buy. I have heard different stories from the loan officer as to why we are in this situation. Bull!
He gives different stories to different people.
Obviously nobody was in charge and checking on loans in their pipeline. This company is a poor example of a mortgage company. This is one company and their loan officers that I will definitely steer clear of in the future.
