This is an old fashioned toy store with classic toys and modern, cool gifts and gadgets. Literally everywhere we looked there was something unique and cool, the type of toys you rarely see anymore but ones that every kid I know would love to receive on Christmas. All my friends I was with were very happy with their findings as well. The only negative thing I could possibly say about this awesome place was the young guy with glasses that rang me up at cash register two. After setting my basket down and getting out my credit card, I realize he must be waiting for me to get the books out, so no problem, I'm not above that. He waits for me to get all my books out, scans them, and that's it. Doesn't give me a bag to put my all my books in, or even help put back in the basket. No words to indicate the interaction is over until I awkwardly realize it on my own. He was very off-putting. I will still be back because this place, otherwise, is amazing and I want to bring some family members and friends who I know will have fun too.

She found McKay's online and it seemed to be the best place to do that. Wow -- we were not prepared for the massiveness of this super, super busy place! Being our first time and not knowing how it all worked, it didn't take us long to figure out where to go and what to do. There wasn't much of a line when we started. We placed her books in a bin, then waited to be called by a greeter. Our greeter quickly explained the process, gave the daughter a claim ticket, then we waited. In the 40 minutes it took for her claim number to come up on the screen, we were able to walk through most of the sections and pick out a couple things to buy. I was quite surprised to find so many things beyond books -- DVDs, VHS, vinyl records, CDs, cassette tapes, clothing, Pokémon cards, instruments, game consoles, accessories, Legos, toys, comic books, etc. It was seriously amazing. My daughter decided to take her sale in trade which gave her about 50% more to spend. For the books they didn't buy she was given the option to take them back or donate them there. She chose to donate. The husband loves old movies, art and music -- he will absolutely enjoy McKay's. I can't wait to bring him here! The parking lot is as massive, so I don't think there's ever an issue with that.

Such a cute little shop!…read more It's always such a pleasant surprise to find a store where you can find gifts that are unusual and not the typical "big box" offerings you could just as easily have ordered online. Many of the sellers here are offering original creations - some repurposed, some recycled and given new life, and more. I had a very disappointing experience at this Michael's…read more When I asked to use a cashier instead of self-checkout, I was told it was "corporate policy" to make customers use self-checkout. I don't work at Michael's, and I don't believe customers should be required to ring up their own purchases if they prefer a cashier. The interaction with the employee became unprofessional. She told me she only makes $11 an hour and doesn't get paid enough to deal with customers. When I explained that wasn't my responsibility and that I simply wanted to check out with a cashier, she asked me, "Are you lazy, or do you just not know how to do it?" She also said she didn't care if I never came back to that location. To make matters worse, I heard her yelling at her child in the store, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. This wasn't the first time I've witnessed that. Beyond the customer service, the store itself appeared dirty, poorly maintained, and understocked compared to other Michael's locations. I left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I'll gladly drive across town to shop at another Michael's rather than return to this location. I hope management addresses both the customer service issues and the overall condition of the store.

Pros: *Large venue *No super long lines for bathrooms or food *Constant stage activity *Music *Friendly staff and security *Multiple exclusive items at the Con store *Fun props *Plenty of seating if you needed a break *Club booths *Nice, down to Earth celebrities Cons: *Admission price was quite high, only $20 less than Celebration, but no big names. *Vendors for the middle class collectors were few and far between. *VIP's were allowed in an entire day and an additional 1 hour early which I believe contributed to limited items remaining from vendors. Which is probably a pro if you were a VIP but for everyone else it made the admission fee not worth it. *Bottle neck entry. Once your bag was searched there was only one person with a metal wand scanning everyone which created unorganized lines during the grand opening. Aside from a few negatives it was a fun event. Thanks to the organizers and staff. I will give it another chance next year.

Two of my favorite things about this location are seeing an amazing selection of rare and slab issues, plus a humongous dollar section. If you're in the area, I highly recommend that you stop by!
