I loved my experience with One City Tours so much, that I came two days in a row. Riding Segways is…read morea blast, but riding them through picturesque Strasbourg is a whole 'notha experience. The staff is super friendly, accommodating and helpful. I took a tour in English one day with some of my family who doesn't speak French and again the next day with my French family in French. Both tours were fabulous and very personal.

I've done several Segway tours throughout Europe and this has to be one of my least favorite…read moreexperiences with them. I'll start with the positive; the Segway experience itself was nice. Seeing the city and getting around quicker with the cool windy breeze was amazing and definitely is a great way to cite see. However, that is about all you are paying for...NOT the tour. You are essentially paying for using a Segway. We booked an English speaking 2 hour tour in hopes of learning more about the history of Strasbourg. Our guide was nice but could NOT speak English well and was misinformed. She couldn't answer basic questions and was extremely difficult to understand. She actually misinformed us about several of the locations we "visited" on our Segways which we later found out through research, other tours, and the boat tour. She also would try to guide the whole group across a busy street when the light was red or there was not enough space for all of us to pass. Several times she was the only one able to pass and had to wait across the street for us as we avoided onlooking traffic. Our tour guide was nice, but lacked any information about Strasbourg history, misinformed us, and couldn't speak English. Thus, only book an English tour if you plan on paying solely for the Segway experience and not the tour experience.

It was one of the most beautiful nights me and my wife have ever experienced. I'm very happy with this place and we plan to come back next year. It was very small but that's ok it was just me and her and it had so much charm. Thanks Giuseppe!!

Like the old residences, the stairs are complicated, the rooms not huge but always clean, with a warm welcome from all the staff from the owner always present and smiling, to the Italian waitress and maid with the most friendly Alsatian accent, smiling and available without forgetting all the staff trained in the image of the owner: competence, dedication and smile. This is a change from the usual French welcome, in this little corner of France that resembles the character of the people of Vancouver on the west coast of CANADA. Breakfast served here is exceptional fresh bread, croissants, kouglof etc., sweet: yoghurts, fruit salad, salted: eggs, shell eggs, delicatessen, cheese, not to mention a fresh orange juice that does not come out of the Tropicana box. One, two, three or even four cappuccinos served for the same customer...!!!!! I have seen many hotels all over the world this one for its value for money is unbeatable.

Situated in the beautiful red building at the Rathaus square in the city centre the Tourist…read moreInformation Centre is quite easy to find. A basic skill for staff at said place would be to speak decent English I'd say. Alas this is not the case here. I would also think that a city like Freiburg which for some reason calls itself a green city devoted to sustainability (which I honestly question after spending a week there, it is not something that is neither obvious nor general) and also boast about that on their website, should have lots of interesting tours and outings to said projects and businesses. Which they don't. In fact the guy at the tourist information wanted to know what I meant with 'green businesses' *insert gobsmacked face*. And the only suggestion I got was to visit suburb Vauban (which was a nice enough tram ride and walk, but without any specific tours). I asked about organic shops and he had to google that (obviously something I could have done myself, I was after a neat list when I asked, what I thought was the source of knowledge to Freiburg...). For some strange reason they didn't offer bus tours/hikes into the lush hills of Schwarzwald, only maps for doing it yourself. And yes, a very simple map cost 1€, seems a bit cheap. All and all, not really worth the visit. Google the information you want and get a free map at the hotel would be my best tip.
