Minerva's Lounge is the cafe situation inside the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing. It's opened to the public from very early in the morning with breakfast items and coffees and teas. They serve a classic canteen menu that changes weekly and the menu is posted every Monday. There's a salad bar, and you can order freshly prepared sandwich rolls at great value prices that are also available for takeaway. The cafe is quite small but has seating outside. Avoid lunching between 11:30 and 12:30 as it is packed with the Institute's employees.
I've also known the place to be hired out at the weekends for weddings and other parties so do enquire!
The toilets are also a bit out of the way in the main building but it's nice to have a look at the architecture of the building on your way there! read more
