Pretty cool station, this is Nassau County of Long Island , There a waiting Room on the New York city Bound Train Platform side , And there a Hospital -NYU Lagone Long Island as well near this Train station , And there major connection to the Mineola Intermodal center :N15,N22,N23,N24,N40,N41 and there soda /snack machine as well , And walk way stairway that leads to the East Point Platform and N.Y.C bound platform which upstairs on top of the platform , which gives you a beatiful view of Long Island !!!!!

Mineola train station has gone through many makeovers since 1837, the latest started sometime in 2018. When I am in Garden City, I usually travel from Mineola Station to New York City (NYC). There are better timetable options for traveling to NYC. But during rush hour, be prepared to stand and closely with other passengers. There are two side platforms and three tracks that accommodate twelve cars. The middle express track allows trains to skirt the station; safer for passengers standing by the platform waiting for their train. Mineola Station has a sizable eastbound and westbound platform with a covered overhead bridge to cross the tracks. But if its raining, be sure to have an umbrella. The train station has a ticket office usually with friendly staff members. There is also plenty of parking available by the station.

After a full day of a windy beatdown, the sight of a double available seat on the LIRRs double decker train was most welcome. The full day included a few brews, so within this pseudo self enclosed section of the car, I plopped myself into the well padded seat, absorbing the fresh feel of air conditioning. alAdditionally there was a bathroom close by and kept in very clean condition and thats always a welcome addition to any public ride. We placed our golf bags in a open area against a wall, the smoothness of the ride didn't disturb the equipment or the passengers. Using the LIRR Railroad app was super easy as your ticket is just a few clicks and a swipe away from completion. The ride time from Mineola to Jamacia seemed to pass with incredible ease and at under nine bucks it was a great deal.

Once you're there, you can purchase a ticket or what me and my friend did was just jump on tje train heading towards Penn Station. A train attendant will eventually ask all passenger for their tickets or pay onboard either using cash or credit card. How much was a one-way ticket to Penn Station? It was only $17/pax! Few shaded areas with lots of views making it a pretty awesome ride into Manhattan. You'll reach there in less than 30 minutes because on Sunday's it operates on a rapid express route skipping several stations. It's an enjoyable ride and per Google, there was an option to transfer at Jamaica Station. But since the faster route brought us to Penn, it cut even more time. Lot's of people seem to keep to themselves, I'm pretty sure that you will come across beggars or train performers, so always keep track of your belongings and stay vigilant as this is city public transportation. I bet on weekdays it can get extremely crowded like what you'd typically go through during rush hour. However you need to experience riding The Meteo in NYC. It's fun. Definitely recommend!

It is also possible to purchase tickets on-line. The train was very prompt and on schedule. The ride was quiet. The windows could have been cleaned so the we could enjoy looking outside. The inside of the train cars were very clean. My one big complaint is that when we arrived at the Carle Place station from Penn Station, the door opened for just a few seconds and we couldn't get off the train. We had to ride to the next station and walk 25 minutes to our destination. It was late at night. Luckily it was a safe neighborhood. I don't know if we were supposed to do something to get the door to open. There were no officials in our train car to ask.

Many of the LIRR stations look similar to me but Lee tells me the Country Life Press station is much more green than Wesbury. ------ I just took the LIRR from this station for the first time the other day at about 5pm. I've got to say, it was quite the calming, relaxing experience. There was only about 3 other ppl on the platform so I got to have my own personal section of peace and quiet. There was also families of birds chirping from the trees which only added to the serenity. I got my ticket and realized the train wasn't coming for another 30 minutes but I didn't mind one bit. I normally listen to music when waiting for the train but this time I just sat and enjoyed the moment.

Not that easy to locate. A one-track station with a single underpass at one end for us outcasts who don't possess the Village of Garden City parking permits. Today was our first time. The ticket machine must be at the other end as we missed it, but I sweet talked my way out of a surcharge when purchasing on board. Hey, it was Thanksgiving. Being this is our closest gateway to the city, you can bet we'll be back.

Understanding it was a little bit hard to get a reasonably priced cab right at the end of the concert I looked on my phone and I found Garden City Taxi and Airport Service. I got picked up in a brand new Lincoln town car and my driver absolutely did the right thing by me. The ride was smooth and he did not rely on GPS which makes me believe he is a real Long Island driver which is very much unlike some other drivers I've seen in the city. This company very forthright in their pricing which was a lot lower than what the taxis were trying to charge me coming out of the concert
