Good mental health practitioners, but horrific customer service and operations - ineffective billing/insurance office. Schedulers have no interpersonal effectiveness skills using invalidating language/tone which matters even more when dealing with this clientele. They double book and bill a lot for very short sessions. PROFIT OVER HEALTH/customer service. Context: I have been coordinating psychiatric care for a family member; I am also a licensed mental health practitioner who has worked on inpatient and outpatient settings. Psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners have been BOOKED in the COVID-19 pandemic - I attempted to utilize this new platform for telehealth medication support and group psychotherapy for my loved one. The schedulers don't follow the practitioners recommendation for scheduling follow-ups, then automatically book a session that is a conflict without consulting. When describing the situation, the scheduler and supervisor Jocelyn constantly used you statements and invalidating language "you were notified" did not take well to feedback and was extremely rude over all. The potential for these telehealth platforms are great, but mindful care falls flat on its face and is worse than many of these outpatient facilities I used to work for that double and triple book. read more

This place charged my credit card incorrectly multiple times. They also don't provide detailed invoices unless you ask which is unprofessional and weird. I'm happy to pay for services but I am also not interested in paying for things I did not attend. Kind of tiring always having to babysit my credit card when I'm charged incorrectly or without explanation. While the actual practitioner I was assigned was reasonably competent enough that is useless when you can't even get past the grossly mismanaged appointment follow up communication and customer care apparatus. My provider, Kathleen Patterson, PA really should go somewhere else so I can see her. Mindful care is awful and only cares about money. I had an appointment that was canceled after 5 minutes as I was running late. I've had to wait 10-15 minutes at times, which I understood since I know appointments can run over. My therapist's office waits 20 minutes before canceling the appointment. I've missed months of treatment due to last-minute cancellations and they have booked me with an incorrect provider which caused me to miss an appointment with my provider. However when life gets in my way and I need to cancel? $50 penalty. These people do not care about you. They are predatory, greedy, hypocrites. read more

I rescheduled my appt about 3 times due to work commitments in February. I was informed that because of that I would no longer be able to make an appt for a short time period. Understood. It is now April and apparently I am banned for life or an unspecified amount of time that the scheduler could not provide. For a mental health facility this is pretty shitty. I understand cancellations affect other patients but life isnt so black and white. Ans in a city where mental health services come up short this is yet another example of it. read more

They have been trying to charge me $300 saying my insurance company took back money they were owed. Spent hours on the phone with the insurance company to get all the details and reference numbers proving Mindful Care wrong. They admitted their mistake, and now a year later are telling me yet again I owe them this money even though I have all the proof that they have been paid. I have followed up 10 times over the last 6 months, and NO REPLY. This company preys on people who need help, and they are beyond incompetent. I am reporting them to the state. I can't believe I am still talking about this in 2023 when these appointments happened in early 2021. Avoid at all costs. read more

I have been double and triple charged for sessions that I've already paid for. Not to mention they make unauthorized transactions on your credit card without notifying you. Did not even schedule an appointment. Saw an ad for an evalutation to see which doctor would work best for me, and as soon as i finished this "free" evaluation it scheduled an appointment with the doctor immediately and automatically. Extremely predatory and a waste of money, as I had not actually fully commited to anything. Highly recommend any other business but this one, because that's all it really is, a business. I would give this place a zero if i could. My first appointment the provider complained about the banging in the building the whole time from construction. The next appt i was supposed to have a virtual assessment. I was sitting waiting for 20 minutes for the provider to join when i got a call from the office that she was going to be another 3-5 minutes late. After another 15 minutes i called the office and they said "Didnt you get the email we sent cancelling the appointment? the patient before you ran late so she cancelled you" Now first of all, you don't cancel an appointment half hr into someone elses appointment and through email non the less. Second of all, I work in the healthcare field. You stay until all your patients are seen not cancel someone because the person before them ran late how is that my problem? I requested the provider call me and a week later still no call. Absolutely disgraceful. Wouldn't even recommend this place to my dog. read more

Absolutely no bedside manner and made me feel like i was bothering her. Will not be going back or recommending this place to others. I filled out all of the paperwork online, then someone began texting me to make an appointment, which I find incredibly impersonal and mechanic. There then seemed to be a discrepancy between what is listed on the website as available appointments for in person care. I said okay, let's work with the completely different hours that I'm now being given. I was then told that you can't be seen by a psychiatrist - either a PA or a nurse practitioner. I asked if we could stop the texting and have an actual conversation and the person, Anecia, gave me a phone number to call. No one answered. I called Anecia's number. No answer. I called back the original number and someone finally answered and I was on hold for about 10-12 minutes while she checked and found that there was no in-person availability for anyone for an entire week. Then as she checked cancellations, putting me on hold yet again, she disconnected me. I called back. No answer. Called back again and got a new person. This new person very sing-songedly gave me the same speech that the person who had just disconnected me did. I told her I had just been disconnected and I had already gotten through all the paperwork, it was just a matter of getting the appointment. She interrupted me several times to let me know that she was new to me, that we hadn't spoken before (obviously), and that she needed to check out my situation. I sighed and expressed my frustration, which seemed to annoy her and I said, great, put me on hold yet again, and she said, "fabulous!" In a super snarky and sarcastic manner. There I go on hold again and she comes back on the line and decides to explain to me AGAIN why she was asking me the same questions as the person before me, and reiterated again that it was because she was new to the conversation. It became very clear that she was more interested in being defensive than actually helping me, nor was she adept at handling phone calls from people who are understandably frustrated at the hands of your employees. I have spent two hours filling out forms, making phone calls, answering texts, and I still can't get an appointment. There is no actual phone number or contact info listed for anyone other than the entry level people who answer the phone, and god forbid you want to speak to someone with a bit more experience or authority. They claim that you can get same day service, and they tout themselves as "urgent" care. There was nothing urgent about anything. I didn't begin my exchanges with these employees/company in a bad mood - dealing with the various employees is what got me there. read more

2/3 of the providers I've met with have not been competent. Getting in touch with your provider is literally impossible - they don't have a system to do so unlike every other medical practice that exists. It's very clear that they primarily care about money. Actually getting in touch with someone for scheduling has historically been difficult, but lately it seems like they've gotten better. Overall weird practices - you're treated like a med seeker for unscheduled prescriptions. It just feels very bureaucratic. I only continue to go because I like my provider a lot and have a stable care plan, but it's not somewhere I'd recommend to a new patient at all. read more

They really should change their name. They are neither "mindful" or "urgent care." I call to set up a same day appointment and there were no doctors/medical professionals working... on a weekday. Someone was on vacation and they didn't have a backup. You cannot call yourself 'urgent care' then. They only had a PA there, not even an MD. Clearly not experienced in nuances of mental health or empathetic to people suffering from something more complex than first-world-problem-depression. If you show any signs of high anxiety or paranoia they offer to toss you into the ER and refuse to help. Receptionists are equally as clueless to mental health and not empathetic. God, the mental health system is so shamefully primitive in this country. read more

I am so happy i found this place after wasting hundreds and hundreds of dollars on psychiatrists that just care about your money and what to prescribe you next. The office was beautiful and relaxing, sort of like a spa. With music, refreshments, and friendly, polite and informative woman at the front desk. I booked it through zocdoc so my first time paperwork was a breeze and i waited no longer than 10 mins to get called in. The PA Nick was great. I felt like he asked me all the right questions and didn't assume anything. He didn't try and prescribe me the next beat thing and listened to everything i had to say. He thoroughly and clearly explained things to me in terms i understood and it was just an overall very pleasant experience. I typically dread these appointments but not anymore. I'm a former employee of Mindful Care and I'm still fighting to get paid! They don't uphold their end of the contract and supply you with a laptop even when your personal laptop dies because of all the tabs you must have open. They made me get my own even when the IT Manager stayed to me that he had a company laptop and was ready to ship it he was told not to!The cost of the laptop was money I didn't have for that expense and caused me too use money for my cell bill for the purchase and they never compensated me a penny. They don't supply a monitor or tell you you need one prior to employment, which you can't do your job without because on a laptop you can't see but 2 letters of the providers name but they expect you to work like that! They train you at work speed and tell you feel free to ask for more training but yet when you do they fire you! They run their company like an assembly line and numbers are what matter and nothing else. There are many grey areas to this company. I don't get my pay for hours work for a couples of weeks none the less and I'm filing suit as they leave me no choice. I've done everything asked of me as far as paperwork just to be ignored so maybe an attorney will get their attention! read more

I initially was very happy with the psychiatric services here, and do like my doctor, but I am extremely frustrated because I requested for my pharmacy to be switched and my prescription to be refilled over a week and a half ago, and was told it would be switched and available in 48 hours. A week later I went to pick up my prescription and it hadn't been sent. I've now been out of meds for 4 days and on and off the phone all day today and yesterday, sending emails just to try to get my prescription filled. I've been repeatedly told it would be handled by the end of the day and then receive no follow-up and get voicemail when I call to get details. So now I will have to skip my medication yet again tomorrow. It feels incredibly unprofessional and inconsiderate to have had to work so hard just to get my prescription refilled, and even now I still do not have it. read more

this place is absolutely horrible. if i could give them 0 stars, i would. i have requested to be placed with a different provider 4 TIMES. and every time they say it's too hard to do over the phone with me being there so they will do it and then call me back. it never happens. the providers have the most soulless eyes and attitudes, they do not care about you. my appointments lasted 3 minutes long and just consisted of questions like "how are you, do your meds work, if you feel suicidal call 911." they also schedule your next appointment without consulting with you when it will be. so you have to call them up every single time and reschedule it or cancel. wouldn't it be easier for them to just ASK you when you can have your next appointment. because of this, i've missed out on refills on multiple occasions because they only allow bi-weekly appointments rather than monthly which is so annoying. why can't i just get my meds that have been working for me my entire life and then schedule an appointment in between if needed? when i finally got an appointment to reschedule with a new provider for a refill, they just scheduled me with the same one as always. they are awful. read more

They start off truly caring about you and trying to help you through your struggles. Then all of a sudden once they have you on regulated medication Nick Obertis completely forgets about you and never refills your prescriptions leaving you with begging for emergency prescription from the pharmacy until they can't anymore. I was prescribed Lexapro last June and for the past two months I have been receiving my medication in week increments and then all of a sudden within the the last two weeks they stopped refilling my prescriptions completely. They are not responsible in the slightest and nobody should ever go to them until they get their shit fixed. read more

I have been seeing Nicholas Obertis for a little over a month and he is by far the best psychiatrist I have ever seen. He is welcoming, genuine, and extremely thorough. What I appreciate most is his willingness and dedication to hearing me out and never making assumptions. He uses a person-centered approach and looks at everything an individual may be experiencing. He makes an effort to understand personal circumstances and how those circumstances can affect mental health before prescribing medications. With him as my psychiatrist, I know that I have the best professional support possible. I am treated for both PTSD and OCD and he understands the importance of addressing root issues. He also uses relevant literature in order to make well informed decisions and encourages therapy to get the best results possible. As a social worker and someone who has struggled with mental health issues my entire life, I am extremely grateful for the professionals at Mindful Urgent Care. read more
