Extremely frustrating and terrible experience with this provider. Despite being in-network with active mental health coverage, my card was charged without proper authorization instead of billing my insurance. When I tried to resolve the issue, the billing office was uncooperative and difficult to deal with. I was told I would not be given a superbill (including diagnosis and procedure codes) unless I first paid out of pocket, which prevented me from submitting a claim through my insurance. Communication was consistently unhelpful and dismissive, especially with the office manager Michael Anthony, and the overall handling of the situation felt unprofessional and lacking basic patient support. This created unnecessary financial stress and made a simple billing matter far more difficult than it should have been. HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE AVOID THIS PRACTICE - PLEASE READ: This place should not be allowed to treat vulnerable people. I'm genuinely still in disbelief that this happened. Please read this if you're considering going here, this is about Jane Statlander-Slote. I am seeking treatment for OCD, specifically ERP therapy, which is widely recognized as the gold standard, evidence based, clinically proven treatment for OCD. The International OCD Foundation and virtually every reputable OCD specialist supports ERP. This is not controversial. This is not experimental. This is basic, established care. The first thing she told me? "ERP won't work." Red flag number one. Then she went on and on bragging about how many traumatized people she's supposedly "cured." (Yes, she actually used the word cured.) Since she still hadn't answered my question, I calmly and politely asked again: "Do you or anyone in this practice provide ERP therapy?" She then stops and asks me, "Do you have a degree?".... I was stunned, but I immediately understood what she was doing. I said yes. She asked, "In what?" I replied, "Not psychology, since that's clearly what you're getting at." This was her way of talking down to me, implying I'm stupid, and positioning herself as superior because I dared to advocate for myself and ask for an evidence based treatment. Let me be very clear: I am not asking for some risky, experimental therapy. I am asking for the most standard, well researched, and widely recommended treatment for OCD!!!! The fact that this person dismisses ERP and then tries to intimidate patients with credential flexing is both ignorant and dangerous INSANE It is genuinely disturbing that this is a place serving people who are already struggling. Instead of being supportive, they are condescending, dismissive, and are bullying. It gets even better!!!! When I called back to speak to the receptionist (Mike), he told me: "How about you drop it and forget about it. She isn't a good match for you." Incredibly unprofessional. Wish I somehow recorded these calls to show how insane their behavior is. Save yourself the time, money, and emotional damage. Do not give this place a single dollar!!!!!! If you're reading this and you're struggling, I'm so sorry. You deserve real help, real compassion, and proper mental health care. There are good providers out there, this is not one of them. It's heartbreaking that in a field meant to help people, some "professionals" actively make things worse. Jane needs serious help... P.s. read the way they respond to all their bad reviews, that will show you how they talk down to people seeking help. They will also blame those leaving a bad review for "taking away their AMAZING services to those in need" This place needs to be shut down. If you have insurance that covers mental health, go somewhere else. Your mental health will suffer just dealing with their office & insurance payments. They are rude, condescending, and not at all supportive or helpful. The employee has to be a family member- in a normal business if an employee treated clients in this way, they would be fired. Please stay clear of this place. My experience was horrible!!! It's really hard to believe these people deal with behavior health. I agree with everything that has been written about them. 1. Josh is very rude. He has no phone etiquette. He is an insolent. 2. It is true that they will charge your credit card before your insurance pay out the claim. I have outrageous charges that were not authorized and had to dispute them my credit card company because they refused to explain why I was charged $525 along with other additional charges when all I was responsible for was my $20 copay. Don't even think about contacting Dr. Jane, with any of your concerns. It is a waste of words. I asked several times about what I was putting into my body that could be so bad, but no....I had to call a different number to get that information. I'm blown away that someone as educated as Dr. Jane, can be so inappropriate to ask personal and sexual questions in front of my children. Where is the common sense? This wasn't even my session! Also asking very off topic questions... Yes I have a juicer and yes my son sees a boy when he looks in the mirr and my daughter sees a girl, that's not what we're here for! Stay on topic! Three cell phones sat in front of her and she kept taking calls and text messages at our first and one and only appointment. This was our first time meeting, I had to introduce my self and my family since she did not introduce her self. Just zero manners! From beginning to end, uncomfortable, unprofessional, inappropriate questions and unorganized. I had to re-do all the paperwork I already did online because she couldn't find it or my card on file. What a disorganized mess and waste of our time... save yourself and keep looking! Dr. Statlander-Slote is a scammer. I can't believe the state allowed her to be licensed for mental health services. She is rude, impatient, and condescending. She judged my lifestyle because I drank alcohol socially and ate red meat. She said I need to get a juicer and start eating a vegetarian diet. Her website lists services that she told me she does not provide.
