But my man lives in Telluride and my friend Sheri wanted to go to the festival. I didn't expect much and I was very impressed. Mellow bands, mellow crowds. I expected food and drinks to be overpriced but actually everything was extremely reasonable. The best deal was the wine tent where I bought a huge cup of wine for $10 and refills were $8. They were very generous pours. I also had the best grilled fish taco ever woooot. Side of guac, black bean corn salsa. Oh yeah!!! One day of the festival was definitely enough for me. Steve Winwood was the final performer last night and was amazing. Day passes were $70 which is fair. Overall a very pleasant experience with great music and gorgeous breathtaking mountain scenery.

Think today's stars (Chris Thiele & Co, Della Mae, Steeldrivers, etc), as well as classics (Del, Sam Bush, etc). Something for everyone really. The festival itself is set in the beautiful town of Telluride which is down in a valley. We stayed on the other side of the mountain and took the gondola into town every day for the fest. This in itself was an incredible experience, especially late night riding back with strangers who are your new friends! The festival is well organized. Acts start on time. There are tons of vendors. When I went, the festival was sponsored by New Belgium brewing. For about $10 you could buy a reusable Kleen Kanteen cup and get $4 beer refills all weekend. The town of telluride was very welcoming. Most of the bands play shows around town all weekend, including a free show at the farmer's market. There are lots of great restaurants to check out in town, and even a brewery!

As a longtime festivalgoer, it's rare for me to experience so many artists for the very first time, but that added a fresh spark to the weekend. Jontavious Willis, Maggie Rose, Thundercat, Danielle Nicole, and Anders Osborne all left strong impressions, even if I can't list everyone here. That said, two performances in particular blew me away and would have been worth the trip from South Florida all on their own. Before getting to that, I have to highlight what makes this festival truly unique: the setting. Telluride Town Park sits in a valley almost completely surrounded by Colorado mountains. Having lived my whole life on flat Florida terrain, I was in awe. Pictures don't capture it--you simply have to be there. Our first day brought cold rain in the low 40s, and many people called it quits early. But those who stayed witnessed something unforgettable. In the middle of a downpour, Samantha Fish took the stage. Her voice and guitar work were so captivating that we almost forgot about the weather. Then, almost magically, the clouds parted, the sun broke through, and a stunning double rainbow arched over the snow-capped peaks that had just turned white from the storm. It was one of those rare, once-in-a-lifetime moments that I'll never forget. And just when I thought nothing could top that, The Black Crowes closed out Sunday night. As a Gen-Xer who lived through the '90s, seeing the Robinson brothers back together was surreal. Chris Robinson commanded the stage with charisma somewhere between Mick Jagger and Scott Weiland, while Rich Robinson's guitar transported me right back to my twenties. It was the perfect ending to a perfect trip out west. Thank you Colorado

The festival was great but... Last 5 minutes in town: * Parked behind another car in center-street 30-min max zone (engine running, hazards on) * Crew grabbed their ice cream treats from the sidewalk stand across the street * 90 seconds later - $50 ticket for "Permit Only" parking The catch? The words "Permit Required" was hidden under well-manicured flowers - on every planter down the middle of Main Street. Pictured officer as she lifted the blooms like a curtain to reveal it. Photos attached: 1. Officer holding back curtain of flowers exposing the key part of the sign 2. My spot with flowers untouched, covering the key part of sign 3. Several other cars parked in same zone and were being ticketed as fast as the officer could write them Zoom Call Court (1.5-hr wait; out-of-state Zoom Calls were last in line to be heard): * Victim before me, also out-of-state (Louisiana): Same story (but no pictures), Judge reduced fine to $40, or told to show up in court to fight * Me: Showed judge photographic evidence along with short to-the-point explanations during my hearing - still ordered to pay $40 or fly to Telluride to fight in court Judge Daniel Zemke ignored the evidence presented. This is clearly city-sanctioned "Trickery" & "Entrapment" targeting out-of-state visitors in rental cars (Locals know not to park there, or else). Paid the $40 (in pennies). Won't return (Sorry Blues & Brews); 47 other beautiful mountain towns do not hide their reasons for fines in flowerpots. ________________________________________ Beautiful town. Im going to give a stab at an honest review reflecting on our recent 4 day stay here as I so…read moredesperately tried to find current reviews and they were mixed/hard to find. The pluses...Location is prime (even in summer...I can only imagine how nice in ski season right next to gondola!) Friendly Staff..Jackie the "maintenance Mgr" was the first person I met when I accidentally entered the condo where we were to stay instead of checking in at the hotel side next door. She promptly issued a key and walked me to the room. Very friendly the entire stay! Doug the mgr I never actually met in person but he fielded my many calls/inquiries with warmth/patience and ultimately guided me to choose the condo option. I'm not sure if the condo parking is always included but it was so empty/off season he did provide us a parking pass for the rental car it's great to have covered parking just walk downstairs and get to the car! Speaking of car, Doug assured me no car needed in Telluride and that's true to a degree. If you plan to do nothing but stay in town you can get a shuttle for about $80 per person before tip ea way) and walk anywhere around town or take the little hop on bus if you don't like walking short distances. I know this as I came a day earlier than my husband and did that, but I can tell you how glad I was he arrived with the rental car (get a car unless ur skiing daily). We needed it to get to further trailheads and make side trip to Ourray and to meet his fishing guide Now back to the accommodations..It's SO confusing when you are researching the condos and hotel and trying to find pictures as they vary from unit to unit..we had #204 I will admit I am kind of picky about hotels rooms as I travel for a living and stay a lot of places and I just enjoy a luxurious comfortable room ..when I first walked in I was a little under impressed. It was very large but felt "dated" in decor and we couldn't find anywhere to plug cell phones in by the bed which was inconvenient, the kitchenette looked updated. But to further confuse you, when my husband walked in his impression is wow this is nice (as he took in the spacious living area). I had read about hot rooms/no AC in summer ..lucky for us this one had some type of window air pump in the living area with kitchenette remained quite cool though the bedroom was a bit warm (end of Aug) though the box fan and leaving a window open was fine for us we were comfortable, the bed was fine and the best thing for us was these units have two identical full size bathrooms! Never knew how much I would enjoy my husband having his own space. The bathtubs were very large and since I'm a "bath person" I appreciated that, but they are designed for very tall person and I couldn't get comfortable as the way they are designed you slip down the angled back (I finally figured a way to get myself turned around to put my head sideways on the faucet side to avoid the constant sliding down as my feet couldn't begin to touch the opposite end ..I've never had to describe a tub issue in a review before that's for sure If you are 6'5" and a bath person you will love these! Of course they have the shower as well. One thing that's very important to me is coffee in the morning. I'm not sure if it was an old Keurig or why, but it did not heat the water but the best part of staying in the condos is that they brew Starbucks coffee in the sunroom upstairs. It did seem that by the time I would get coffee at 7 AM it would usually require a little warming in the micro back in the room.. again I'm sure it was an issue with how empty the building was. The only other thing that I can review is, I just couldn't get excited about using the hot tub. Where it was located, kind of dreary and the water was not really hot or good jets. I will try to include some pictures with this review as I was desperately searching. It was not cheap by any means but for the area I think that I would stay here again. I certainly don't have any desire to stay up at Mountain Village. We took the free gondola up there and looked around. It was really dead and deserted this time of year. All in all I would stay here again I would just really try to research the unit. I hope this helps. I tried!
