After a walk-through of our dream basement, Matt was timely and thorough with our project estimates which we really appreciated. He answered any questions we had without hesitation, which made him very approachable. Throughout the entire project, we knew we could communicate with him via email or text, and he was always very up-to-date with how our project was progressing. He also came by every few weeks, and he made sure everything was going as planned. Luis, our project manager, was also a great person to work with. It took me so long to write this review because I don't like saying bad things about companies but after today December 8, 2018 when I found my BRAND NEW Redskins Hoodie turned inside out with PAINT and PLASTER all over it and stashed behind some storage boxes in an upstairs spare bedroom that was the last straw!!!!!! They took the time to turn it inside out and hide it. I did not have work done in any bedrooms so there was no reason for them to even open the door. I had all 3 bedroom doors closed. I'm sure this was done when I left my elderly family member here for 1 day because I had to go back to work. They actually took the hoodie off the hanger and rubbed it in paint on purpose. I only found it because I was pulling out Christmas decorations. These people are evil and I guess they are not Redskins fans. If I could leave my phone number in this review I would just so I can tell you the horrors I went thru. They drank 2 cases of my water without my permission and then put the half empty bottles in my freezer. I had to trash everything in the fridge. They left water rings from the bottles on my furniture. They wrote the words F**k You on my laminate flooring boxes. I reported this to the owner Sergio and he was supposed to come and talk to me but he sent his son to talk to me which was a waste of time. In October I was moving stuff around and saw some strange symbols carved in my brand new $1500 Bose Soundbar box. This box was behind my sofa unopened for 6 years and no one ever touched it but me so who carved this crap? It was not there went I bought it from Circuit City. When my house flooded I didn't want any electronics put in storage so this box was in the room where they were working. I was looking around my house for 2 months for my brand new hoodie and today I find it covered in paint. I left Sergio a message and sent him pictures of my hoodie. I'm sure I will get no response. My concern now is how many other things will I find in my house that was destroyed by these people. I am so mad right now I want to get the police involved. I was very nice to these guys ....I bought them lunch one day and I gave them water everyday not knowing that they were stealing water I had in my storage room. Sergio kept telling me it was ok to leave them in my house alone I said no I don't leave anyone in my house alone. I ended up using most of my vacation time. Oh...did I mention the spit I found on my floor after they left. DO NOT LEAVE THESE PEOPLE IN YOUR HOUSE ALONE. I have cameras but with the construction going on I turned them off. BIG MISTAKE on my part. I would have had the person on camera. My project was supposed to take 3 maybe 4 days but it ended up taking 8 or 9 days just to paint and add flooring to the first floor of a very small townhouse. Then they had to come back on a Saturday to fix things that they did wrong or sloppy. I have baseboards that are not straight. I have quarter round that is not attached (I went to sweep and the section just came off). They had to come back and re paint my whole kitchen. You could still see the old white walls thru the new gray paint (they did a rush job on the kitchen). If you decide to use this people wait at least 2 weeks after the work is completed because you will find tons of stuff that is not done properly. They installed a powder room light fixture and I touched and it fell sideways. I pulled the bathroom sink stopper pole up and it came all the way out in my hand. I have paint spots on my new paver patio in the backyard (still cant figure out why they were in my backyard with paint) I paid them to paint my front door but they did not do it. I had to call and finally they came back and painted it. Sergio refused to fix my baseboards . He said my floors are not level..LOL. I might be a woman but I'm not stupid. I sent Sergio a text message and I told him he needed to send his workers back to fix this stuff and call me to discuss. He replied "I have nothing to discuss the work is over". But had the nerve to ask me for the money for installing a bathroom light that almost fell off the wall when I touched it. The transition piece of wood between the hall and laundry room was not even glued down. It was sticking up. They painted my laundry room and storage room bi-fold doors and didn't let them dry but placed them up against each other so all 3 doors stuck together and were damaged when they pulled them apart. I could go on and on....but I wont. I will be reporting this company to every agency I can find.

I special ordered a cast iron tub which Jimmy and his team picked up and delivered. The bathroom was renovated three months ago. Since that time, I've had different people visit the house and I shared pictures of the bathroom online and everyone was super impressed. Ascension did a terrific job with the bathroom remodel and even went above and beyond to fix a few other things. They also installed a new window to the bathroom and it looks great. I took bids for the contract for my rental property and invited Ascensions to participate. I had got as many as 6 bids. I had a couple bids that was just so low that I had to consider that sometimes going cheap isn't the correct way because I had a deadline and had to have good quality of work to get my house on the market with a good price. So I decided to not take the gamble and go cheap and slow. So I decided to go with Ascension for a couple of reasons. One reason is because I had a good customer service experience with Ascension Home Contractors before. The confusion was on how the tiles was to be laid on the Salon floor with stencils or not. Well after half the ceramic floor was already set and pasted on the 1200 sqft. floor. It didn't look like the way I wanted. So I told Jimmy the owner that I didn't like it. Without an augment as I expected from many. Jimmy gathered his team the next day and picked up about 600 sqft. ceramic tile and reinstalled it the way I wanted. The second reason is that Ascension is like a one stop shop. They do everything. They will project management for you so you do not have to stress and find other contractors. If you need junk removal, house cleaning, tree cutting, or anything related. Ascensions have the resources to get the job done the right way and fast. Yeah I paid more of the top end for Ascension but I had peace of mind and got the job done the right way with out the worry that someone may do a bad job or run off with my money. I had a few Handymen that does work that was not insured or licensed. So be careful about that. Those are the people that may not have a big team but will give you a lower price and you will just have to take a gamble with. Ascensions is License and Insured and it is a reason why you have to pay a premium when you want good work done with good customer service. So this is why I would recommend Ascensions Home Contractors for your home or business. Also Jimmy the owner is very knowledgeable and will inherit your project as if it is were his own and make the right recommendations for your goals.

They worked with us on the design so everything was exactly what we wanted and the project manager Mark was always available to answer questions when the guys were working on the house. We had used KBD before on a simpler renovation (new master bath shower) and we were delighted with their work, so didn't hesitate to engage them for this far more elaborate project. Why are these guys such great remodelers? Let me list just a few of the reasons. * Completeness: Except for appliances, KBD displays and sources everything that is required. You aren't sent around to countless vendors to look at their wares and then be the middleman in negotiating appropriateness, availability, prices, etc. * Design assistance: You are offered as much or as little as you need. But be forewarned, Rich and Olga are likely to be much more familiar with design issues than you - so that when they make their suggestions, you will hit yourself on the side of the head and wonder why you didn't think of these issues or ideas yourself. * Craftsmanship: With remodeling, everything doesn't always exactly fit together. Walls are not perfectly plumb, corners not perfectly square, ceiling heights may be wavy and floors are not perfectly flat. Thus, craftsmanship is required to neatly mount cabinets and appliances to that they look seamless. KBD installers (who are direct employees, not subcontractors) all made the extra effort to ensure that everything (even stuff that we would never would have noticed) was done right and looked perfect. We…read morehad three quotes and while they were not the least expensive of the three it was clear upon meeting Michael Marzullo (the father of the father-son duo) that he cared about his work. I am SO glad we chose to go with them and our assessment that they cared about their work was spot on. I have a handful of examples of times they went above and beyond to make something perfect; - the particular cut of a tile so that it would line up against the drain, - using additional support to lock down shelving because they didn't like manufacturer's suggestion, - purchasing two door knobs to match the inside of the bathroom (brushed nickel) and the outside hallway, (brass), and - adding a 2" connector to the shower head so that it would have a nicer range. They understood our short time frame and worked overtime to provide a working shower for our home. They stayed on budget and keep us in the loop with daily phone calls to update us on their work and clarify any questions we may have had. I felt completely comfortable knowing they were inside the home while we were away. If I were to have any complaint it would be the light film of dust that covered our home- but given the demolition and tile work it's understandable and was easy enough to clean up. We will use them again for our next home improvement project and will recommend them to anyone.
