As this was our first time purchasing a used boat, we were new to the process. Jay, our broker, was knowledgeable, honest, and went out of his way to ensure the deal went as smoothly as possible. He was always readily reachable and flexible with our scheduling, surveys, and haul outs. After the closing of the deal, there was a miscommunication (most likely our fault) about how long we would be able to keep the boat in its current slip. A week prior to our planned relocation, Jay informed us that the lease for the slip was up that day. We were panicked, with nowhere to keep the boat for at least a couple days. Without batting an eye, Jay went to the boat and moved it to their brokerage dock until we could sort out the relocation. Thank you, Jay, for going above and beyond and turning a stressful situation into a seamless one. 10/10 would do business with this company again.

While their self described passion is "...to deliver the best of the boating lifestyle", it appears…read moretheir main passion is to hoard dock carts that belong to the marina and the city of Long Beach. They hide them on the docks and keep them locked up when they are not even there. It is not clear to me what they need 2 - 3 dock carts for since these boats stay in a slip all the time, but if this is the way they treat their neighbors, I would not trust them to sell my yacht, and would not trust them to broker a purchase. The pic was taken on a busy Sunday morning in summer when they are closed, and dock carts are difficult to come by.

Avoid At All Cost!!!!…read more I hate to do this because I love to see small businesses succeed but this experience was beyond horrible. I contacted Chad Pordes (aka Pordes Marine, Southern California Boatworks, South Bay Boatworks, possibly others but those are the three business names I've found him to be using) in mid September to service my outboard engine. He was informative and seemed reliable so I brought my engine to him. The next day he told me it was ready for pickup. Seemed fast but I appreciated the quick turnaround so I went to his shop, picked up the engine and paid him $388(over $100 more than he quoted me for the job). That same afternoon I ran the engine but it was worse than before, idled very high, had difficulty shifting into gear and would occasionally shut off. I immediately let him know but he told me that I needed to let the new fluids run through and that once everything burned off it would be back to normal. Fast forward two weeks and still no improvement. I contacted him again and he said that he'd take care of it. This is where things got bad. He said he couldn't duplicate the issues in his shop so he'd meet me at my slip the following day at 9am which was October 8. He was a no show and didn't even have the decency to call and let me know. Its a 45 min drive from my house to the marina so rather inconsiderate. I call him, he offers no apology but says he'll be there the next morning. Once again he was a no show. That happened 4 times before he finally came on October 15th. He looked things over and agreed that it wasn't running right but said that he wasn't able to fix the issue there and would need to take the carburetor back to his shop but would have it done and replaced in a day or two. I dealt with 3 weeks of his lies repeatedly telling me that he'd take care of it tomorrow. Obviously that never happened and then last week he stopped answering my calls or responding to texts all together. Finally November 4th I contacted the Marina Del Rey sheriff to see what my options where. I'm not sure if they contacted him or if it was just coincidence but about an hour later I had a text from him saying that I could pick up the unserviced carburetor from a box on his front porch. So now I have a disassembled carburetor and an unusable outboard for my trip to Catalina this weekend. It's unfortunate because he seemed like a decent guy at the beginning. If I had to guess, my assumption would be drugs. His behavior seemed consistent with an addict. Trying to earn my business he was friendly and responsive but once he got paid it was all lies until he finally cut off communication and tried to steal from me. Do better Chad

I'm normally not a yelp poster but I am writing this as a rebuttal to Scott M that felt he was…read moreentitled to have first right or refusal to a boat that' he wanted and I bought. I live in Seattle and actually have worked in the yacht brokerage / yacht repair business for 20 years. My girlfriend found the boat on Saturday morning and i called Nancy. I was told the exact same things he was - mechanic was working on it trying to figure out why it continued to overheats told me the scoop and symptoms. Told me exactly what was wrong with the boat and then we zoom'ed the next morning ( sunday 05/25) by the end of the zoom Call I was booking a flight and hotel to Long Beach to see this boat. Nancy sent me a contract and I was on the way. I saw a deal there just like this guy did and while yeah - Nancy can be a bit scattered cause she's a one man show at 70 years old out working me at 40 - it's not right to badmouth her or her business cause he didn't have the testicular fortitude to put up or shut up. Now he's sour - I have been a captain, yacht broker and owned boat dealerships. I am a very experienced buyer when it comes to yachts and I knew if the boat wasn't what she said it would be - I could get any moneys spent ( less airfare) back. So him not being close is just him crying. I was 1700 miles away. Also - Nancy has been as efficient and speedy once the deal is underway as anyone I have ever worked with. No one is perfect and people do make mistakes - but this dude is just crying cause he's mad at himself and wants to bad mouth a 70 year old woman's business. Come for a boat ride, scott!

Nancy had a mechanic working on the engine everyday because it would overheat. She would end our almost daily conversation stating she would keep me posted on the progress. I would call her everyday for an update and half the time she forgot who I even was. Nancy told me that the kids from the estate just wanted it sold but once again Nancy tells me she has a mechanic working on the engine.. today I called for an update and she tells me it's sold. I won't go through all the minute details but I feel Nancy didn't act in good faith.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Breeze Marine Boat Services LLC was…read moreextremely disappointing. The project took 5-6 times longer than originally promised, and what started as an estimated $12,000 job ended up costing nearly $20,000. Despite paying significantly more, the quality of the work did not meet my expectations. When I picked up my classic boat, I found mechanical grease smudged on the seats and other areas, showing a lack of care for the vessel while it was in their possession. I was also disappointed to discover that they cut into the boat's original electrical system to install new equipment, including the squid lights, bait tank, bilge pump, and other components. On a classic boat, preserving the original wiring where possible is important, and I was never comfortable with how that part of the installation was handled. Communication throughout the project was another major issue. The business is run by a father-and-son team, but the father--the primary person I dealt with--doesn't speak English and relied on a phone translation app for nearly every conversation. This made it difficult to discuss technical details, ask questions, or resolve concerns efficiently. The most frustrating part is that after spending almost $20,000, I left feeling like I'll have to pay another professional to correct or redo parts of the work. That's not the outcome anyone expects after making such a significant investment. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Breeze Marine Boat Service.
