We reached out right away, explained everything and asked if they could make an exception. They absolutely could have if they wanted to, but instead chose to charge us close to $2,000 and kept pointing us back to the contract and legal language. I even appealed directly to both the outgoing and incoming heads of the school, hoping there would be some understanding given the circumstances and how quickly we notified them. Unfortunately, there was none. The saving grace for us was my son's teachers, Mr. Rao and Mrs. Joshi. They were wonderful and we genuinely appreciated them. Beyond that, I was never particularly impressed with the administration or the overall experience. For a school that positions itself as a premier institution and has so many positive accolades, our experience was very different. To us, it felt like a pretty average/subpar school packaged and marketed as something much more. If you are considering AIA, just make sure you read every line of what you sign. Don't assume there will be any flexibility or understanding even when circumstances change within a matter of days.

Staff at St. Aiden's made my child's first day of preschool a living nightmare…read more Upon picking my child up from his first day of school he informed me that another child had hit him. I approached his teacher, Ms. Patty, and asked to speak with her in regards to this matter. Once I told Ms. Patty what my son had told me she instantly became very defensive. She immediately came to the other child's defense and straight out accused my son of lying. I asked her how they handle altercations between children and her response was "typically we would speak to both students and their parents BUT it didn't happen." After several minutes of being accused of lying I decided to leave with my son. Not only did this upset my son but it also tainted the image I had portrayed of how teachers are supposed to be. Supportive, friendly and trustworthy. Our experience with Ms. Patty was none of the above. To make matters worse, minutes after leaving the facility I received an extremely aggressive email from the director, Julie. She did not ask me any questions about the conversation that took place. Instead, she came to Ms. Patty's defense and threatened to kick my son out. Given the experience we had on our son's first day, my husband and I agreed we were not comfortable leaving our son in their care. Leaving us no choice, we removed our son from this preschool. We let the director know our decision and requested a full refund. We were only given a PARTIAL refund and were still charged fees. Nothing was explained to us and no further contact was made by the school. I made the mistake of assuming this preschool was a warm, inviting environment due to it being linked to a church. I was sadly mistaken. Patty was extremely bias and made my child feel embarrassed, unheard and unworthy. Julie, the director, turned around and did the same to me.

She loves going to school everyday and a huge part of that is the environment that St. Aidans fosters. Their curriculum has always been exactly what she needed and her teachers have always been able to challenge her academically and encourage her imagination and creativity as well. The class sizes are just right so that she is provided with personalized instruction as well as lots of friends to play with! St. Aidans has been such a blessing to us these last three years! On March 16, we received an email stating that our son had been experiencing significant behavioral challenges "over the past several months," including safety and hygiene concerns, and that we should seek an alternative placement. This was the first time we had ever been informed of concerns of this magnitude. If a school truly believes a child is struggling behaviorally or may need additional support, parents should be informed early and consistently, not for the first time in a single email recommending removal. After requesting documentation multiple times, the school was only able to provide one minor incident report (throwing a toy) and routine app logs, with no formal records reflecting the ongoing pattern of serious concerns that had been described. We fully understand that not every classroom is the right fit for every child. However, if there were genuine concerns regarding our child's behavior or development, those should have been clearly communicated and documented well before recommending that he leave the program. The lack of communication, documentation, and partnership with parents in this situation was extremely disappointing. We have since moved our son to another daycare where communication has been much more proactive and collaborative.
