There sure aren't many people yelping in Brooks or passing through I guess. My friend and I were on…read morea 2 week road trip with his two boys, aged 11 and 9, and stopped in here for breakfast about a week and a half ago. Denny's restaurants as those in the know will concur are pretty consistent wherever you go. We had a good time visiting this one. It may have been the fact that we had kids with us and we made it in and out without them screaming or making a mess, but they were other aspects that made it a good stop. Despite what someone else wrote we got so many coffee refills I had to start turning them down before I floated away out of my chair. Good coffee too. We ordered big breakfasts all around which were delicious and filling. I got a skillet and joked with our server that I could eat another one. I actually wasn't joking. The Denny's is part of a building that houses a gas station as well so to use the washroom you have to walk out the restaurant and down a very small hallway to what is an acceptable if not reasonably presented spot. Really friendly and knowledgable staff; considering we were asking about directions and road conditions while getting our coffees filled up. I don't know what other places and Brooks are like but this Denny's is worth it if you need somewhere to rest and fuel up.

Alert! Delicious donuts coming your way!…read more Check out the likes of these babies. My lovely friend and coworker Angie at Black Dog Ranch (check out her account for adorable dog photos) has a beautiful ranch south of the city and she led me to these donuts that are the talk of Black Diamond. Naturally I had to get my hands on some. Rules for ordering your Westwood Donuts: 1 They change up their flavours every week, so if a round appeals to you, jump on it! 2 You have to place your order on Wednesday before they sell out. Don't press the snooze on this. 3 There's only a short window on Saturday for pick-up (12-3PM on Saturdays). Once you've completed the steps above, you're on your way to donut heaven. RATING: 9/10 - Westwood: Donuts The dough is everything you want it to be--soft, fluffy and fresh. It makes a great base for the various donut creations. I had the pleasure of trying these flavours: Chocolate Fudge Filled: With rich chocolate custard and coated in cinnamon sugar. You can't go wrong here. Banana Cream Pie: This tasted exactly like it sounds. Fragrant banana custard with whip and bananas on top. If you did a blind taste test, it would be hard to differentiate this from the real pie. Nerds Glaze: Imagine a blue raspberry starburst. This one was sweet, tropical and sour. Lemon Glaze: Pound cake in donut form. I adored the natural lemon flavour! The Banana Cream Pie stole my heart, but they were all worth writing home about. I can't wait to have an excuse to try these glorious donuts again and check out Westwood's food and patio. Black Diamond here I come!

Definitely not appealing. The place was also really noisy, the acoustics are bad and they played loud rock music which only added to the din. I won't be back unless I'm desperate.
