This is the second time I have had a "save the day" experience with Felix at Budget automotive…read more This time I stopped by to see if I could make an appointment with Felix to have him look at a check engine light and a couple problem codes onstar sent me. He asked me where it was at (I pointed outside in the parking lot) and he grabbed his diagnostic tool and went out to look at it. Then he opened the hood, crawled over the engine and emerged with a broken serpentine fan belt. He went on to say the idler pulley had failed and chewed up the belt. At that point he went to work finding the parts (newer Duramax parts are not as easy to find as you would think) and located the belt locally but the idler pulley had to be ordered from Chevrolet and it would be the next morning before it was there. The next morning Port Lavaca had a severe storm that knocked out all power and communications until that afternoon. I called Felix and he told me the pulley was there but it was the wrong belt they had. I had to be in Kenedy for work the following morning so it was important that I got my truck back. Felix finally found a belt in Victoria and knowing I needed my truck he drove over from Port Lavaca and picked it up. By now it was getting late. I had my wife take me to the shop so I could get it as soon as it was done and Felix would not have to wait on us (we live in Seadrift). To wrap this up he didn't finish until 11:30pm that night. When he finished he was more worried about wiping down the hood, bumper and fender where he had been working than getting paid. The bill was within a few dollars of what he quoted me (the correct belt actually was more expensive) despite all the things he had to do to finish the job. I said it before and I will say it again, if your not taking your car to Felix your not getting the best service and your likely paying too much.

I will start by saying my husband and I do a lot of homework before we ever set foot in any dealership on vehicles. We were starting our search for a larger vehicle that was better suited for a family of four and filled out a form to get the best price in vehicles for having a Sams club membership. We immediately were contacted by about 5 dealers, out of all the dealers Chelsea in customer relations was the only one of the five to answer my questions first and then request for me to come in and check out vehicles second. It was refreshing to see her concern for what my husband and I were looking for before selling us something we didn't need or want. We went in the next day with a no pressure just wanted to test drive attitude and she set us up with Horace. Horace treated us immediately like family, to include my husband and my daughter in many many long talks and tangents each time we went in. He set us up with two test drives that day, we fell in love with one and sent us home to think about what we wanted. We went back the next day to discussed budgeting. Of course the one we loved was just a bit out of our range so Horace and Angel the sales manager worked really hard to find us another car on the lot that worked, they even brought over a car for us! I'm pretty sure I am one of the most picky people that this dealership has come across all things considered I had to test drive every single vehicle and go home every night only to call Horace the next day and go in to find another. In the end Horace and Angel made our dreams come true with a vehicle we both love. Mike was extremely helpful with paperwork and was very clear with financing and options we had. I will go back over and over to this dealership just for Horace even though I'm a little afraid he's gonna retire before it's time for another vehicle. So if you are looking for a new car and really want an incredible salesman go find Horace and work with the entire team at Port Lavaca. They made magic happen for us with an experience we wouldn't trade no matter how stressful the entire car buying experience was.
