Another superb business in support of my beloved football team. This wonderful fish and chip shop,…read morededicated to Manchester United, is situated moments from Old Trafford, alongside United Off Licence and Legends Fast-Food and Take-Away, all wonderful establishments. The row is a real part of Manchester United culture, which as the biggest football team in the World, is in turn a real part of Manchester culture. On match day this road is a hubbub of activity, with fans gathering to enjoy a few drinks and bit of pre-game food. After the game the streets are lined with fans celebrating the inevitable Manchester United victory. This shop, along with Lou Maracri's Fish & Chips, deserves a monition, (I) for dedicating itself to the cause of Manchester United, and (ii) for serving great quality fish and chips when it could get away with anything given its location. Gorgeous crispy battered fish and a large portion of chips, plus all the northern options like gravy, and though not cheap, portions are so big that you'll let them off, especially given that its match day. Grab some fish from here or Lou's, or a burger from Legends, a beer from next door and crack on! United!

I've had fish & chips from there on numerous occasions and been given chips that had been sat under a heater drying up for hours and then re fried, you could break your teeth on them. A friend ordered a burger with onions and got a fish with onions on top, their piza's are the most disgusting I've ever had, a dried up base with what tastes like left over kebab meat with cheap chedder on top. I'm sure I could have found more paletable food in the bin....

Ordered the Haddock Fish with an order of chips and mushy peas. Fish was great! Chips were decent, not the best, but the fish was definitely the star of the show, cooked to perfection in a light, not overly oil-saturated batter. The kind lady behind the counter let me try a dollop of their gravy (it was wonderful)! Such a gem with good quality food in a no frills package! Great for a quick lunch or dinner as you're walking about and exploring the area. Would definitely come back!

I instead order a battered sausage and some chips. the ambiance was terrible with a thick clammy smell as if there was no airflow for years. Alright food but wouldn't consider going back until they figure out their problems and get their priorities straight and hire new faster less judging eyeing staff who clearly did not like my appearance and hope they figure out what the smell is and that they remove it immediately. really a shame about those because the food was great and five stars just wasn't worth the wait and the smell.

From the moment I stepped foot into the shop, I was greeted with warm smiles and a delightful aroma of freshly fried fish and chips. The menu at Tib Street Chippy offered a wide variety of options, catering to both traditional and modern tastes. I opted for their classic fish and chips, and I was blown away by the quality and flavour. The fish was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The chips were golden and had that ideal combination of fluffy interior and crispy exterior. It was truly a match made in culinary heaven. What impressed me the most, however, was the promptness of the service. Despite the busy evening rush, the staff at Tib Street Chippy managed to deliver my order in record time. They were efficient, ensuring that every customer received their food with minimal wait. The attention to detail and dedication to providing excellent service was evident in every interaction I had with the staff. Not only was the food exceptional and the service prompt, but the atmosphere at Tib Street Chippy was also inviting. The cozy seating area and charming decor added to the overall experience. It was clear that the owners and staff took great pride in creating a welcoming environment for their customers. In conclusion, I highly recommend Tib Street Chippy to anyone craving delicious fish and chips. The exceptional quality of the food, combined with the prompt and attentive service, make it a standout eatery. I can't wait to visit again and indulge in their mouthwatering offerings. Next time I'll try the sausage.

In response to this question my friend clearly and politely stated, 'no thanks.' The woman serving us proceeded to pour lashings of vinegar onto her chips. I probably would have been too polite to complain, but she wasn't. The lady didn't seem put out, she simply and silently threw the chips away and served up a fresh bag with no salt and vinegar. I think that's probably the best customer service you could expect here, but it was sufficient, and no-one comes to buy fish and chips for a chit-chat. The portions are very generously sized and reasonably priced - around £5 for a large fish, chips and peas. The food is always hot and tasty. There is usually a large queue in the evenings, and the recent opening of competitor Atlantic doesn't seem to have affected this Chorlton favourite. Just make sure you go after your visit to the baths opposite. I once made the mistake of going first, and it really didn't make for a pleasant swimming experience!

It's almost criminal that in a North West city there are so few stonking chippies so imagine my delight when I discovered this one in Chorlton. I'm a fan of Holland's pies and they should be in residence at any good chip shop, so I was pleased to find them here (delivered fresh every morning). It's popular, as you can tell from the long queues you'll see snaking from the counter on Friday and Saturday nights, and it would be with such huge portions at teeny prices. It'll certainly fill you up and won't lighten your pocket. And there's even a range of pop in glass bottles! That's the best way to ingest your favourite fizzy beverage.
