My 100th First to Review!…read more I always find it somewhat awkward reviewing medical professionals... from doctors to dentists, therapists and the like, the unique relationship formed between specialists and their patients seem a strange thing to attach a review to. In any case, the scenario is easier when you have only good things to report. Over the years I have had to switch primary physicians a number of times. Since having left my pediatrician for obvious reasons, insurance changes have forced these necessary adjustments. Fortunately, these exchanges have led me to Dr. Michael Campbell's care. Dr. Campbell is an energetic, knowledgeable, and personable physician practicing Family and Internal Medicine in Fall River, MA. A 2001 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, this physician works out of Millview Medical Associates and is affiliated with several surrounding medical establishments. As a healthcare professional myself, it is sometimes difficult to find a physician who will treat you like a patient. What I mean by that is many physicians expect and assume that you know everything there is to know about certain conditions, lab work findings, and medications. This is not the case with Dr. Campbell. He takes the time to willingly review and explain concepts that though familiar to me, are a nice reminder, refresher, or lesson when it comes to my own life. I can only imagine this service is enhanced for those lacking a medical background. He never appears to be in a rush with appointments and don't let this statement fool you... I usually only have to wait about 15 minutes to be called into an examine room. I always feel as though my statements and concerns are heard thoroughly and options in care carefully weighed between the benefits, risks, and what would work best for me individually. It's nice to feel as though you have a working and collaborative relationship with your physician. If you are looking for a primary care physician and he is available to accept new patients, I highly recommend Dr. Campbell for your overall health needs.

I wasn't happy when she "skewed" my bloodwork data with a formula for an "average smoker" which I was not, causing my cholesterol levels to go up and then she tries to push a statin med on me which my body did not require! The last straw was her inability to diagnose a skin infection after I was strung by a bee. The woman left me in pain calling it neuropathy trying to get me on Gabapentin! I had to go to the ER for proper treatment! I am a smart, educated woman, I know what is wrong with me, and funny once I got on an antibiotic......I got better!! She does not listen to the patient, she has HER notion in her head and doesn't go beyond what she feels, doesn't matter what we say. Had I not gone and gotten on an antibiotic God only knows how far the infection would have gone. And it is on my head, near my eye I might add. I cannot continue to see a Dr I feel is not treating me correctly, and I feel I know more about my problem than she does.

Caring primary care providers and other services under one roof. There's a mix of patients here;…read moresome (like me) are in active recovery, some are here just for regular primary care. They take MassHealth and all those insurances under the Health Connector. I have a PCP here (she's a Nurse Practitioner -- there are a lot of NPs and a couple of MDs), see a psych provider here, see a cardiologist here, and have been to the Nutritionist here. I'm in the Suboxone program and go to group meeting here. Everyone is kind, straight-talking, and it's a non-judgmental zone as there are all kinds of folks here from every walk of life. NO one -- from my PCP to the other docs to my counselors - looks down on me here, talks down to me, or makes me feel like an addict. The care is good, and the staff are "real". I get called for outside quickly. It feels like family here. Even the folks that work here seem to like each other, and down-to-earth, and obviously like their jobs. The only fault is that their phones are good/not good and often have something screwy going on and I get transferred around a lot, but I can deal with it for the good care I get.
