Very impressed considering this is a large beverage chain. The staff were very friendly and the cookies simply divine. Missed a star due to price but still not stupid money. read more

They have a good range of pasties including several vegetarian options (including spicy vegetable, mushroom and cheese and brocolli). The prices are reasonable; cheaper than getting a packaged sandwich but more expensive than a rubbish pasty from a certain bakery chain which will remain nameless. The Pasty Place also offers a range of sweet pasties as well as cookies, crisps and drinks which are priced at the usual small shop rates. There is rarely a queue, but this is because the service is so quick, rather than a lack of customers

I cannot recommend Cake highly enough. My daughters wedding cake was absolutely fabulous and far…read moreexceeded our expectations. We took them a couple of pictures we had found on the internet and asked them to provide a beach themed cake. We had a 3 tier cake with fruit, chocolate and vanilla sponge layers. The decoration must have taken hours! There were all kinds of shells and starfish with tiny details all over them. I think more people photographed the cake than they did the guests! Then with 4 days notice we asked for fairy cakes for the children. We expected standard cakes with a few sprinkles on top. We got 50 cakes that exactly matched the wedding cake in their sand colour with tiny shells and starfish as decoration. Nothing is too much trouble and the service is second to none. We have another 4 daughters to be married, and 2 sons so we will definately be using them in the future. Thank You Cake.

It does a wide selection of hot and cold food, although the best item (a pizza slice) keeps going up in price every time I visit. They also do a nice Rum Truffle, although if you get one after they have been out all week they do tend to taste a little stale. Actually the more I write the more I realise that Chatwins isn't very good after all. The bread is far more expensive than other bakers in the area, its nearly impossible to queue because the shop is so narrow and the mince pies cost nearly twice that of the ones sold by Sayers a minute's walk away.

I actually only tried a Krispy Kreme donut for the first time around 4 months ago, this is about the time that they secured a franchise deal with Tesco, around a month prior to Britain's obesity levels steadily beginning to increase. But who can deny them? I mean they are the best donuts available to mankind! What a great idea, get a load of high sugar donuts, add some inventive flavours, then pump them full of cream! But beware, these things are pricey,, and they encourage you to buy them by the dozen to save money!
