This is a great small zoo! It was nice to be able to get a good look at the animals. The staff was awesome. They were around showing off some of the animals and answering questions. There are shady areas for relaxing too.

A very nicely designed small zoo with a very interesting collection of animals. Part of Miller Park, the zoo actively works with endangered species.

Very good zoo given the size of Bloomington. Don't expect a "big city" zoo; yet get better than you'd think. We spent just under 2 hours here. Easy to follow paths. Wide variety of animals: Australian walk-about, tortoise, wolves, birds, goats (can be fed and petted), guanacos, flamingos, otters, tiger, red pandas and more. They have a lunch counter; plenty of tables. Plenty of shade (we went on a warm day), yet also open areas. Great for kids of all ages.

Landmark Review This is a unique zoo run by the city of Bloomington. We got here late so we had to run through the exhibits. It's located in the middle of a park. There is plenty of parking around if there is an activities going on. We had some issues finding parking and had to walk a long way to get to the zoo. It is seven dollars admission for adults and five dollars for kids. Children under two are free. I am surprised by the animals that you can see here which included lions, kangaroo, tortoise, and seals. This is not a Brookfield zoo by any chance so you won't see any pandas, giraffes, or other exotic animals however it's a great place to visit for families. Hidden deal: Free parking on the park side streets

For a small zoo, this is a wonderful place. I love the rainforest exhibit so much.

Really enjoy this zoo and park. It is perfect for pre school aged children. Nicely kept grounds. Big old trees.

Actually it has an interesting history itself. The zoo has its own business page on Yelp. As for the rest of the park, there's other stuff worth exploring. There's a pretty big lake. Go take a walk across the stone bridge. The park also has a mini golf course and softball fields among other things. Also check out a preserved steam locomotive. There's also a pavilion for those wanting to have a picnic. Has lots of activities throughout the year including festivals and fireworks. It's located east of Morris Avenue and south of Wood Street. Review Visit: October 28th, 2012…read more A place that brings back wonderful childhood memories. As a kid, this place was a destination for field trips. I remember coming out here ones or twice and having the time of my life. I blame these field trips for fostering my love for nature and being outside. So, it was only fitting that I revisit Wildlife Nostalgic Park... I mean Wildlife Prairie Park. WPP for short, this place is a fantastic destination for anyone living in Central Illinois or really anywhere in Illinois. During this fall visit, it was my girlfriend and my friend. We casually strolled the main parts while sipping some delicious coffee. The park had changed so much from when I was a kid. There were a few things I remember, but they have since expanded or updated mostly everything. They have a pretty cool snake area that is slightly modeled like a... snake. We played around on some trains and took some goofy photos with those "face cut out" displays. The bulk of the park are the nature preserves with wild floral and fauna. You could spend all day slowly walking through the park, seeing wild cows, wolves, deer, humans, birds, and various other interesting animals. Not only can you visit and see nature, they also have cabins/camping areas to rent out. I haven't personally done this as my group of friends aren't big into camping, but I would love to check it out some day. The prices seem really fair for what you get. Last but not least, they hold events throughout the year. Check out their website for details but I've been to their Ren Faire (Olde English Festival) and it was a blast. They also have a wildly popular Wildlife Scary Park each year for October/Halloween. One of my friends has a membership for WPP and said she has tickets to ride the train. Should this rain ever subside, I think it's time to take her up on her offer to go visit! We only have one Earth. Please treat it with respect. Don't litter. Recycle. Leave nature places cleaner than when you arrived. Future generations will appreciate it.
