Nona, the N.P. here is absolutely the best health care provider I have ever had in my entire life…read more(I am in my 70's). She not only cares about your gyn issues, she cares about your entire body, right down to the psychological aspect. I have been seeing Nona for years now after switching from my children's pediatrician's because they were not as good as Nona for my children. When she first saw them she spoke to them from seatbelts to gyn issues in the future. Nona has literally saved my life when I was misdiagnosed by a gynecologist in the past. She was able to diagnose something that the previous gyn missed. I would be dead if it weren't for her. I dread the fact that she will retire some day, but she will well deserve it when she does. Thank you ALL ABOUT WOMEN, for having Nona there to care for us. 5 stars are not near enough for Nona. Annemarie Latimer, R.N., M.Ed, M.A., N.C.S.N.

Highly disappointed, terrible service and unprofessional.

I came here with my family member as a driver since she required anesthesia for her surgical…read moreprocedure. I helped her with researching different clinics and we decided upon this one based on the positive reviews, a recommendation from a friend and that they were the only reputable clinic which offered a no-scraping procedure (called a Manual Vaccuum Aspiration "MVA") and also provided full asleep anesthesia. As some of the other reviewers commented, there is a lot of paperwork so you should come early. Took about 20 minutes to complete together. The wait was not bad, but we came on a Wednesday evening which is probably a less busy appointment time I would imagine. I went in with her for the admission interview with the administrator and she was very thorough and reassuring. When we asked to see the MVA aspirator, she obliged and showed it to us while reviewing how it works and is different from the traditional method which requires scarping. Decided to go with the MVA to reduce chances of future problems getting pregnant and that it is supposed to cause less post procedure cramping. There was an additional fee since her insurance only covers the standard "D&C" method with scraping, but it was not that much (I cannot recall the exact amount). Office is modern, very clean and appears new. The reception staff was professional and helpful. Big choice of magazines, coffee and water were available as refreshments and there was a TV in the waiting room which was comfortable. I had to use the bathroom while waiting and it was pleasantly clean. The whole stay from arrival to going home was about 2 and a half hours, about what we were told to expect when we made the appointment. She stated the nurses, gynecologist and anesthesologist were all comforting and professional. My friend surprisingly did not appear groggy at all afterwards and had hardly any pain. She did take some Advil when she got home though and started cramping. It is hard to say whether there was really less cramping that a "normal" D&C with scrapping, since she has no basis for comparison. However, she stated the cramping was mild and less than her normal menstrual pain so it seems like it was better. I can definitely recommend this place and actually made an appointment for myself here for an IUD placement under anesthesia before going back to Florida (visiting my family in NJ for a few weeks). I'll try to update this review afterwards on my experiences. Unfortunately, my insurance sucks and they will not pay to use the IUD the facility has in stock, but instead are mailing me one and then I need to bring it to the clnic myself (FYI, Cigna is the worst!).

I had a very weird experience with Dr. Prefer. I had been her patient for about 8 months and over…read morethe holiday break went to schedule my annual mammogram. I didn't have a prescription for a mammogram in the portal, and as I had an appointment with her in January I figured I'd get a prescription for it then as it was only a couple weeks away. That would have made me about 4 weeks overdue for a mammogram. During my January appointment I asked Dr. Prefer for a mammogram prescription and immediately after our appointment I got a very hostile note in the portal from her basically saying I was a terrible patient for not having a mammogram and I best shape up if I wanted to be her patient. Baring in mind that I was 4 weeks overdue AND I DIDN'T HAVE A PRESCRIPTION from her for a mammogram. I'm not sure what she had expected me to do without a prescription, and I began to wonder if I was supposed to get one without a prescription and called the imaging center. They said I could "self refer" if I met certain low risk criteria. So I scheduled an appointment as a self referral for later that week. In the meantime I went to the pharmacy for a flu shot and the pharmacy tech told me that they tried to auto refill my usual prescriptions but my doctor had called and canceled all my women's health prescriptions. I asked who would cancel basic maintenance meds and - it was Dr. Prefer. The pharmacy said they never see this. She canceled them the very same day as our appointment. Because I was 4 weeks overdue for a mammogram - AND AGAIN - DID NOT have a prescription. I had my self referred results sent to a new provider who shared in my outrage. People project all sorts of nonsense onto others - but at the point I'm paying $200 for a 20 minute appointment filled with projections of nastiness and hostility is completely unacceptable and frankly entitled and gross. Shame on her.

Dr Prefer has been a blessing to my life and my health for the past 25 years!…read more I first went to Dr. Prefer when I was about 20. For many young women, going for the first ever gynecological exam feels frightening and/or embarrassing. Back then, I was anxious about all medical exams and procedures. Physicians in general scared me and I had already had a bad experience with the very first gynecologist I had tried. Dr Prefer listened to my fears and reassured me in a very calm, soothing voice. She really took her time explaining everything and getting me used to the whole idea of a gynecological exam. I trusted her and was able to relax. Over the last 25 years, Dr Prefer has been there for me consistently, even once late at night for an emergency. I appreciate so much how she has taken care of me all the way from young adulthood through to perimenopause! There's a reason that I drive an hour to see Dr Prefer, and it's that she is and one of the top three doctors I have ever been to for anything in my entire life! Really, I can't imagine a Dr being more caring, approachable, knowledgeable, kind, and thorough than Dr Prefer is. Thank you Dr Prefer!

I've been coming here for years for my mammograms and I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else…read more The physicians and staff are all board certified and hold the highest degrees along with matching experience to handle their patients' needs. I was there last week for my yearly mammogram and a diagnostic ultrasound. I was a bit on edge due to having some pains in my breasts. Apparently I didn't have all the necessary documents in order for the service to be covered by insurance, so they were kind enough to allow me to stay seated at the registration desk in order to call my gynecologist and have the paperwork faxed. I reached out to my gynecologist and broke down crying in the midst of it; it was all so emotional to me not knowing if there was something serious going on with my health or if my visit would have to be postponed but the staff took extra care to get me tissues and keep me calm. The only reason why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I feel like there could have been a bit more initiative for them to reach out to my physician. Rather then to write the facility's fax # and what I needed to ask for on a post it note, they could have easily taken care of that; especially with me being so upset. My gynecologist office wasn't so quick to fax over the info so the registration associate had me call the doctor again and ask if they would please expedite it- again, this could easily have been done by The Breast Center (I would not accept any excuse indicating it can't be done due to PHI or Hipaa -that's definitely not the case) All in all, I really appreciated all of their services and when I left, I was advised of my mammogram and ultrasound results - something that is not generally disclosed on the same day by your average facility. However, it allowed me to rest easy that evening. In addition, I also appreciated all of the wiping down, disinfecting and extra care taken due to Covid-19. I will forever come to this place and highly recommend it as well.
