My son just graduated last week and after 4 years of my son going here, here's my thought. My wife and I really liked this school and my son also really liked it. It isn't a big school by any means and of course it has its problems, no school is going to be perfect. If you get bad students, it's going to drag the school down....and bad students start at home, ladies and gentlemen. So parent up and stop leaving it up to the school to raise your kid. Of course there were fights, but in the 4 years my son went there, he told me their were probably around 16 fights, that's 4 fights a year...not bad for a high school. I can't comment on discipline because my son never got into a fight or was the victim of any fight (Thank God). One of his friends did transfer to another school in 11th grade because he claims he was being bullied in the bathrooms. So my son had no idea it was happening. My son had some great teachers he's really going to miss and several that were just "whatever". My sons absolute favorite was Mrs. Schwab, such an amazing teacher who truly is a great man. Mr. Stewart, Mr. Kent, Mrs. Pollard and Mrs. Mencia were other ones he liked alot. I would say that 90% of my sons teachers were great and 10% were just "there". But none of his teachers were "bad". The horseshoe roundabout is a complete nightmare when picking up your child. Avoid it at all costs, you will thank me. Parents double park all over the place, they go out the entrance and enter thru the exit...they basically make it a horror show. I recommend picking up your child on Plummer or what i used to do....have your child walk down Zelzah to the CSUN parking lot and wait for them there. It was a life saver. They had a lot of events on Friday nights thoughtout the years like Fall Festival, Banda Night, Paint Night and so many others. So would I recommend this school? Absolutely. My son is really going to miss this school and I will also as a parent.

Mr. Goar shows favoritism towards certain students and neglects other students. He tries to focus on those that are troubled and give them special privileges rather than punishments. Mr. Goar is overall an unlikeable person and his connection to the students is very weak. Each time that there is an issue between two students, rather than hearing out both sides and figuring out the truth, he jumps straight to punishment, even for an innocent student. His logic is flawed, and I hate to have him as a vice principal at Northridge.

It has comes to the point where we have to ask our nephew if someone hurt him today because he always comes home telling us he got beaten, punch, and hurt at school, and the faculty would not do anything. The faculty keep telling us the bully "already went home or already got picked up", "A Good Child", and "we are keeping an eye on them", but they're clearly do not; My nephew was hurt, punched in the chest every single day this week, and he's been afraid of going to school. They also often do not bring anything to our attention regarding the bullying unless we inquire about it first, and the last time it happened they said, "It did happen yesterday", but they did not report it to us, so if you do care about the safety of your children, I would high recommend avoiding this school unless they make some changes. A lot more children will have to suffer and get hurt because someone lack the required means or conviction to do the job, and how could you even begin educating and inspiring children when you can't even secure their safety.

The Spanish immersion program has been amazing for our family. Spanish isn't the dominant language in our home, yet our son (currently in second grade) comes home speaking and reading Spanish with confidence. We've even had native Spanish speakers compliment how well he speaks. We're incredibly grateful for the education and encouragement he receives at MLC and highly recommend the school to other families.

The school is very artistic, really influences students to develop their artistic interests meanwhile getting the required education they need to graduate high school.
