Colvins did a great job installing our new furnace. First off, this furnace replacement job…read morerequired some tricky scheduling as I needed to travel from out of town and only had a small window (one day) to have this project completed. When I explained the situation over the phone, Amy at Colvins was tremendously pleasant and helpful--what a great asset to the company to have such a welcoming, professional voice to assist customers! On the day of installation, the work crew showed up on time, talked me through what they would be doing, and were very efficient in getting their work done. They swapped out our 20+ year old dinosaur for a super efficient Rheem two-stage furnace, installed an easy-access air filter replacement door, and installed a new digital thermostat (bye-bye antique dial-type thermostat). But in full disclosure, the install was not entirely flawless. While ascending our attic ladder to check a whistling noise in the ducting, the attic ladder was broken by the work crew, but I appreciated that they were up front about the accident, and they encouraged me to call the store to make arrangements for Colvins to assist with the cost of replacement--and, of course, Amy was exceptionally accommodating in this respect when I shared with her what had happened. And to top off the experience, a couple of days after the job was finished, I received an unexpected gift in the mail--an overnighted package containing a tin of cookies with a note from Colvins thanking me for choosing them. Well, thanks right back at you, Colvins! All in all, my experience with Colvins was very positive, and I would confidently recommend their work.

David was especially unhelpful (go call someone else)and service manager was mouthy when i said I…read moredo not like someone in their employ and asked for someone else they said no we are not a good fit call someone else, doesnt seem like they are good listeners and it way too difficult to realize a different tech could be on the job to start and i had no original issue with them or company just prefer a different tech..use someone else anyway to avoid their ridiculous wait. Also the plumbers not colvins are cheaper and honestly did a better job. To point out i had already used colvins for a repair on a furnace called them back for the same furnace in 1 month and a dryer gas line install and got denied because i didnt want the guy that made original repair. He said it works though. Also despite your reply I have not heard from colvins and nothing is likely to come from a public response as opposed to actually reaching out to me you do have my number...

5 years ago I went into Dean's Flooring talk to someone about hardwood flooring for our cabin and…read moreended up discussing everything from boat covers to trailer storage with the owner Dean himself. The location is on the main road into the small town of St.Helen in Roscommon County MI. Dean is almost always there and will do everything he can to make sure you are satisfied with his work. He will give you his cell phone number and encourage you to call if you ever need anything. The personal attention you get from Dean is great and only seems to happen from small town business with people that still take pride in their customers' satisfaction. Since then I have had him make a custom boat cover which came out great. He actually picked our boat up, made the cover, and delivered the boat back to our driveway with the new cover on. Boat covers aren't cheap and Dean put a lot of craftsmanship into the cover. We also store our snowmobile trailer in his lot all summer. For $2ft per month you can't beat it. This way it doesn't take up space in our yard and we don't get the "garage sale" appearance curb appeal . The storage lot is locked with a high fence and on the main road into town. We personally haven't had Dean's install any flooring for us but our neighbor just did... again, and he was very pleased. He has been using him for years and is always happy with the work and the sections he has. He does carpet, hardwood flooring, and tile flooring. His shop has all kinds of samples for you to look at. We will continue to use Dean's for his services and appreciate that he is there.

First, I would have rated the project higher should I have been treated after the job as well as I…read morewas treated before the job. Overall I am happy with the outcome - approximately 5000 sq feet and $23,350. I haven't driven on the driveway as yet because it has only been 5 days since it was laid. When Don (owner) came and did the preparation, I asked him to fill in some of the low areas next to the driveway with my own sand and gravel he was removing to create a finished grade. He did so and I have since raked it out to somewhat level. The driveway and parking area job went well and I am pleased. However, I called and asked Sandy to contact Don to and ask him to drop off two yards of additional sand / gravel from some other driveway so I could fill in the space between the asphalt the edge of the dirt below. Sandy checked and Don and he allegedly said he left plenty and NO he wasn't goint to drop off any more. First, I don't believe it costs him anything to drop off the requested filler, but maybe more importantly I don't believe it necessary for Sandy to communicate like she was fed up or angry with the request. There is no reason to treat customers so poorly. I guess I should have gotten the agreement for a couple added yards of sand to be dropped off before I paid the money.
