With a shortage of MDs in Florida, you may have to book an appointment well in advance. In the interim you can schedule with a physician's assistant, likely at a different location. (Lee Health has facilities throughout town.) Dr. Fraga is competent, proactive and thorough. She is easy to work with, and easy to talk to, quick to respond to messages sent on My Chart. Lee is part of the Epic System, with records accessible to Epic providers throughout the country. ( The network facilitates continuity of care and should be mandatory everywhere. Unfortunately, it's not.) I'd also like to give a shout-out to the on-premises lab. It's efficient and well run. Walk-ins welcome, frequently with minimal wait.

So I tried calling my ophthalmologist. The message said to leave a message or call the Dr. directly. I did both and nobody called me back. So I got up early today and tried the office again, even though I doubted they would be there. Next, the primary doctor. They had a service call but I decided to go to Lee Convenient Care instead. By the time i got there the other eye was just as red. Check in was a breeze and the friendly receptionist made me feel more relaxed. I was called in by the nurse literally 20 minutes after arriving. I explained my problem and another young woman did a Covid, Flu etc. swab in a jiffy. The nurse practitioner came in and was so kind and listened to want was bothering me. She wrote two scripts and hopefully that will get me feeling better. Kind, caring and total reassuring was my experience this morning at the convenient care. I didn't get into all the gritty details, but wanted to share my positive experience with you! Thank you Lee Convenient Care and happy Holidays!

...............09 July 2026 …read more................ .............Outpatient Center ............ I had a recent visit to the Emergency Room at Cape Coral Hospital. I was examened and released with instructions to see my primary physician for a follow up. My primary doctor was not available and I was seen by Melonie Santiago , P. A. at the Outpatient Center. P. A. Santiago was very patient and listened to all of my concerns and addressed each one in great detail. She made a couple of referrals to specialists for follow through visits to ensure that my health concerns were being monitored by doctors who specialized in the treatment for the medical issues that were of concern to me. P. A. Santiago Put me at ease with her demeanor, smile , tone and empathy all while maintaining a sense of professional decorum. I was super anxious prior to my visit after experiencing some odd symptoms that I had never experienced before. P. A. Santiago LISTENED to me and my concerns , unlike some of the other medical "professionals" with whom I have been interacting recently. Kudos to P. A. Santiago !! I felt so relieved after my visit with her and realized that I had spent 50 minutes with her in her office. I was so appreciative of her spending so much time with me allowing me to voice my concerns and of her understanding and explaining everything to me to my satisfaction. Also thankful that P. A. Santiago provided me with the 2 referrals to specialists who can continue providing me with the patient care necessary at this time. In my endeavor to cope with my anxiety I forgot to take photos. While the facility may not scream state of the art, the solid customer service, professional and courteous staff, efficiency, and overall great medical care make this facility worth driving out of our way for. There were a few urgent care within 10 minutes of the house but taking the extra time (40 minutes each way) was really worth it. Hassle free accurate medical care. I picked them primarily for their location and very glad I did. It is a walk in so my concern was being there for hours. I arrived about 10am and was called in within about 15 or so minutes. The doctor whom I saw was Dr Erika Johnson. Dr Johnson was very nice to deal with, discussed my situation and we had a plan. I think the best thing is you never felt rushed or that it was some sort of treadmill type of facility. It was as if I was at my physicians office back home. Would not hesitate to use them again and will recommend them and Dr Johnson as well.

After waiting nearly an hr in waiting room, there was no communication btwn staff, we must've seen 3 MAs over 5 different times for a walking boot. The DO claims she read his PMH and RX list which included anticoagulant and still pushed for NSAIDs.. which I refused. She came in with an aircast that could fit my kid. When I refused to the aircast she returned w/a walk-in boot which she handed to me saying " u do this all the time, so u do it".
