The two orgs connect by a hallway so you can walk indoor back and forth. Parking is an ease. Sadly but vitally there is now great security. You must show ID as well as them taking a pic of you before entering. The Childrens hospital is new and as awesome as the lobby of Healthpark. It looks like a mall here, clear elevators, stores and coffee shops ease the negative thoughts of having to be here when you rather not. The children's hospital is bright, happy, and they just got a brand new electronic piano in the lobby. (I got to break it in! ). Open and clean, this place still smells new. There's a gift shop, lots of different seatings for waiting. There's a wall size screen for movies, Tv, Whatever. I regret no pics of it but my mind was occupied by business. Will def take one next time. Every single staff member that I passed during the hours I spent there were friendly, smiled and helpful. Btw they do employ a music therapist, Love it. (My first career) We are so blessed to have this caring institution here.

Her internal bleeding went undiagnosed for about eight hours despite glaring signs. Once imaging was finally ordered and active internal bleeding was confirmed, surgery was delayed for roughly seven more hours. In the meantime, the doctor ordered mass blood transfusion in an improper way that worsened her condition instead of stabilizing her, while failing to move the central line that was improperly placed and that the radiologist recommended be repositioned. HCA Healthcare has faced no consequences, and there is no way for people researching physicians through the Florida Department of Health (DOH), the medical licensing board, to see what happened to my daughter. Because she was 25, unmarried, and had no children, Florida's 'Free Kill' law strategically blocked me from pursuing legal recourse to ensure the hospital and its physicians are held accountable so the harm does not continue. Was given contradicting statements about my health from the ER and the hospital floor staff (they put me in children orthopedics wing and I'm 31 with sepsis... make that make sense). The staff was super nice and accommodating but they essentially kicked me out Christmas morning. I had to go back in the next day because I was even worse, checked in and waited 7 hours with not even an update so I left and drove to Tampa. DO NOT RECOMMEND IN REAL EMERGENCIES because this is not an emergency room. They just allow everyone in, broken bones, spraines, cuts, etc.

After waiting all that time we only received IV fluids and didnt even get meds that night. Doctor was a joke. Had to wait till the next day to fill a prescription. Malpractice at its best. Complete waste of time and money. We were supposed to get a follow up of blood work 4 hours later and that never happened so the nurse finally did it when we were seen. She was frustrated at our care as were we. We were told we could not drink or eat anything this entire time too even though all tests had already been completed. Only good thing about our visit was our nurse and the triage staff. Beyond frustrated overall. Worst ER I have ever been to and will never return.
