The teachers really push the kids to excel in their academics. They have a nice mixture of academics and athletics. School meals gave changed to healthier choices and served fresh daily. Parking lot is also used for the kids to play and their is also a toddler lot in the front of the school. The parent association has strived to make things better for the students and are trying to improve communications with the parents on school and fundraising activities. My son has entered kindergarten and has shown dramatic changes in a month of attending. I highly recommend you send your children here for a quality education.

My girls are absolute ambassadors of OKS, as I see the totality of what Oak Knoll offers, in them. The teachers and faculty are like family, the care they exude is ever so natural and nurturing. Don't get me started on the academics. In the lower school, the classes are interwoven. I was actually intrigued to learn that in the sixth grade for instance, as the origin of the golden ratio was being taught in math class, the students were also being shown how it was applied to the Mona Lisa painting in their Arts class, it's application in the Renaissance era in Social Studies, and there was reference to the concept in Science, and even in the library classes. My sixth grader was absolutely fascinated relating her experience. As for the nurturing environment, you can sense the importance of core values in the school, it only takes one visit to feel it in the air. The students are also exposed to practical religious tenets, helping those in need, etc. I honestly cannot say enough about Oak Knoll. This provides them with the ability to achieve excellence. The graduates matriculate at some of the finest universities in the country. The school population is incredibly diverse. The kids who go here find college easy after passing through this fine institution. The facilities are in need of some upgrading but macs in every room and excellent audio visual equipment abound. Labs are phenomenal and by that I mean college level. Intellectual ferment is a hallmark here. The kids are so engaged that it astounds me. This is the public high school to be in New Jersey.

From the outside there doesn't seem to be much to be impressed with but , alas, "don't judge this book by it's cover". The moment you are buzzed through the doors and are greeted by Miss Denise you begin to understand what separates Crossroads from the rest-THE PEOPLE!!! You feel the love the moment you walk in. It's genuine. The staff to student ratio is close to 1/1.The administration and faculty do so much of the heavy lifting for the parents it"s impossible to thank them properly.The Teachers , Aides, Therapists, Administrators, Maintenance workers and volunteers alike put Crossroads above and beyond all others. As a parent of a Special Needs child I''ll be forever grateful for and awe-struck by the Crossroads family. They turned what began as a devastating blow and utter despair into progress , possibilities and hope . There aren't enough stars to award.
