    Another part of hike

Beautiful although humid day in Northeast Ohio. This is the first time I hiked at this park. We did the Red Trail 5.49 miles. There is another trail that I would say is about 1.8 miles. The longest being over 8 miles. Every where you looked it was a green hue of leaves with the different shades of tree park. The sun peeks through and reveals secrets all around. The little frogs were jumping and we also found a raccoon climbing up and frozen in time as it were a statue. Right above her was her baby "Mama who are those strangers?" You can almost feel her saying shut up and play possum. So I picked up my little dog and walked a little bit more so they would not feel we were threat. I was so happy to capture that image. My Fitbit tracker was happy it was getting some big numbers. After I was done it tracked over 5.80 miles, 28 floors and many calories burned. Pros: Great workout as the trails can be just a little steep but very gradual. The trail will at times take you close to the street and civilization. Photographers paradise. The lighting is beautiful. They do have mile markers, great to see progress. There's not a con per say, but advice. It can get a little muddy when there's been some rain, but you can usually walk around it. Be prepared to see frogs, little garden snakes (harmless) and respect nature. Some little creatures are with their babies leave them be. Bring lots of water!! We had two bottles and we felt like we were in a forest with no way of getting to civilization. So we had to be careful as not to drink it all quickly. When we saw the last mile our half a bottle of water was gone! We also had our doggie sharing water. Go out! Have fun! Reminder it's a bike trail respect the people on bikes. Have fun! Peace out!

Years ago I was a lifeguard at Wallace Lake, so it was fun to return and take a walk in the area. The trails are kept up nicely - lots to see from the waterfalls at Baldwin Lake to the music mound to the critters all over the place: frogs, geese, rabbits and loads of birds. We love this spot for walking, running and biking. Even took a spin over to the beach for old time's sake. We had a blast playing euchre here on the rainy days when there were no swimmers :)

MTB Time what a ride...Trails are solid and dry

You can hear her continually say "oh how beautiful". Just being a witness to how alive she becomes here makes me very happy. They work very hard weeding the grounds and it's hard work. In this trip we met one of the seasonal workers. She collected our entry fee of $5 each and asked us if we have visited in the past. Very nice young person. They are looking for volunteers and it would be s nice place for someone to de-stress and get their hands a little dirty. Also, gardening does burn calories. Every season you will see new plants and flowers coming up. It's not your perfectly polished garden, but it's your rough work in progress labor of love. You will always see the groundskeepers, seasonal workers and volunteers working hard there.

The park is well-maintained and the variety of plants and flowers is truly stunning. I enjoyed walking through the different gardens, each with its own unique character and charm. They just opened on April 1st for the season so not everything was in bloom (obviously) but my minds eye could imagine if. What impressed me the most was the attention to detail and the dedication of the staff to ensure that everything was in pristine condition. I could tell that they take great pride in their work and it definitely shows. Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Strongsville Gardenview Horticultural Park. It's a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city and a true gem for nature lovers. Five stars all around!

We decided to go last minute and it was past 2 pm when we tried to reserve tickets (it wouldn't let us). We decided to call the park website and the employee helping me was able to put my name down for the last few slots at 3 pm. That was very kind of them. You are required to wear gloves when you go down on the toboggan (probably to protect your fingers from the cold since you are required to grip ropes). There are a number of stairs you have to climb to get to the top. There were a good amount of people there and we probably needed to wait 15 minutes each time to ride, but the line got shorter as it got closer to closing time. They didn't allow people to enter the line past 4:45 pm since it closes at 5 pm. It was $15 per person but so worth it! What a fun and unique experience. I got to go with my 66 year old dad, my 33 year old sister, and my 18 year old brother as the toboggan sits up to 4. With this many big people on, it made the toboggan go pretty fast! There's a speedometer that calculates your speed for you. It's a little scary but thrilling! Follow the employee's instructions. We even got to race each other because there are 2 chutes. Our respective employees each tried to give our team boosts (my employee hurried to let us out first while the other employee pushed my brother and dad a bit for them to catch up). Would definitely come here again!
