He must have been having a bad day as he just "went off" on us, telling us to go "find a fancy private club." They had a couple of large groups in and there were way too many people on the course. Understanding that it is a very short season - and many of those days are probably not the greatest, they seem to cram as many people out as possible. Four hour rounds are understandable, but over five hours is unacceptable. The good (which out weighs the bad): Course was in nice condition. It had rained the previous day and we were impressed with how well it drained. Very tough course with extremely penal rough. If planning to play, make sure you play from the correct t boxes. Outside of the grumpy Superintendent, the staff seemed to do a good job given the impossible amount of golfers that were on the course. None better than the person running the Pro Shop Desk. His name is Mr. Lasorsa and he was the kindest, funniest, and most professional person that you would ever want to meet. His "welcoming" demeanor was incredible and he must have a great memory as he seemed to know everyone walking in to check in for golf. You could just tell the guy was a great listener and, also tremendous problem solver. We were also extremely impressed that Mr. Lasorsa came out to the course. He thanked us for choosing Kennsington to spend our day at. He actually talked us into staying for a meal in the attached restaurant, which did not disappoint. Guys like him are few and far between on public golf courses. He clearly enjoys his work and certainly treated all customers with the utmost respect. Next time we are in the area, we plan on being back. Mr. Lasorsa also explained something called a "Stay and Play" package where people stay at the hotels on property . It sounds like a great idea!

Spring 2026 Got a group of co workers together and rent a simulator for 4 hours. Played for 20 minutes and it crashes. Zero refund and STILL charged for time used... pattern developing here. You've lost a customer for life and I will never have a positive thing to say about your facility.

Was in the area for our annual golf outing. We played three courses over three days and Deer Creek…read morewas the last of three. It was awful. Not one of our party of 20 golfers dissented on this opinion. I appreciate the course is a family run affair, but frankly, the condition of the course was unacceptable. Sand traps hard packed with excessive weeds and no rakes. The greens were among the most poorly maintained I've ever seen. It was hard scrabble and poor course management. Each tee box had only one marker for the hole, and the layout of the course made it tough for anyone unfamiliar with the layout to navigate from hole to hole. Daly out confusing. Golfers should be aware of the numerous electrical towers and power lines that criss-cross the course. While this is not under control of the course, but it is another strike against the already difficult playing conditions. When we walked in at the start of the day for our tee time, the course seemed unprepared for us. Pin markers were not ready, and the poor young lady behind the counter in the snack bar was in full blown panic mode trying serve us , get things ready for golfers, and answering the phone. The final strike was the course had no liquor license, so they couldn't sell beer or drinks. That blew our minds. There are plenty of excellent course nearby to play just over the border in PA. Avoid this one.

Started playing here often. Fun course. They are more relaxed in cart rules then most courses. $21…read moreduring the week with cart!

There are three different halls of which we were in the "Red Room". Although they recently did an entire make over and renovation, it still had the old mafioso feel that is or at least was the mystique of the Mahoning Valley. It was a ball room style hall with a large dance floor, good size bar and plenty of seating for the 250 or so guests. The decor was beautiful and was exactly what my sister wanted. The food. I must say the food was pretty darn good. It was a buffet style set up that included salad, fresh bread and rolls, pasta and meatballs, baked chicken, marinated roast beef with mushrooms, butter potatoes and garlic and almond green beans. I had a little of everything and it was all very tasty. Much better than the last time I was here of which was several years ago. I heard that new owners took over which could be the reason for the better food and building face lift. A great choice in the area for a wedding reception, graduation party or banquet. yes, they have an 18 hole golf course of which I can't review at this time as I haven't played in approx. 5 years.

I live in California and was in Ohio to DJ the wedding reception of my cousin, who lives in Canfield. Prior to the event I didn't have any contact with the Country Club, so I had no idea what to expect. Upon my arrival, the staff was very friendly, led me to where I was to setup and offered me the password to their wifi and showed me the best place to plug in. Once I was setup, a server brought me a pitcher of water and a couple glasses. Now you may be thinking - this is standard stuff right? Well, not really. And especially not how most places treat a VENDOR. In my experience, when places roll out the red carpet for the vendors, they really know how to treat people.
