Despite my pollen based misery I thoroughly enjoyed strolling through the many greenhouses. Prices are noticeably lower than the Home Improvement mega-stores in the area, and plants appear in better health. The staff knows their stuff! I came hope with not only bedding plants but lettuces they had started as well as a few pots and topiary decorations. The best part was their customer service!! Wow!! They were incredibly helpful and soooo friendly!! I live 45 minutes from them but I can assure you that they will my source from now on. Others have mentioned their price point being higher than others but I found it quite competitive and reasonable. The fact they have employee who care and enjoy their job make it worth every penny!! Also, I would much rather support a local business as opposed to a box chain!

..I visited J+W Nursery (6 hours round trip) and purchased some trees and plants. I give the owner…read moreand employee good marks for helpfulness but they have a few issues. One thing that would eliminate one of my concerns is they only give a cash register receipt. They dont provide a ticket/invoice which spells out what is purchased. I didn't realize I was overcharged for 2 trees until I returned home. I notified them and they are in the process of sending a check for the difference. The other concern is even though they had the trees separated by variety under signs, I ended up not getting the trees I wanted and ended up having to drive 6 hours to exchange them. I admit I should have checked but I didn't ring up the sale and the employee helped me get the trees. So, check the sales slip and check the tags on the plants and trees. Hopefully the plants andvtrees survive since there is no warranty of survival.
