Not many people know about this gym that is part of the Hillsborough County Park and Recreation department. We have use this gym for our badminton club free play night for almost a year. This facilities have soccer field at the back of the building. Many activities took place at this location include children soccer team. The media room have computer for the after school care. They also have the theater performance art class. They have high impact aerobic class and low impact exercise class. The gym floor is two basketball courts two volley ball courts or four badminton courts. Our badminton club play two night a week. This building is actually our tax money to build it. The gym floor is spring board with wood flooring. They are very nice. Please check out the available classes that are ongoing now by calling the center or walk up to the main lobby for the available exercise class. Make good use of this new facilities.

I snagged the last parking spot (as others have mentioned the parking lot is small, but you can park at the school if you can't find a spot.) I only walked through the actual rec building to get to the park. I was amazed by the outside area. The benches are covered and there are a ton of cubby holes where you can store your stuff. The playground is covered too! We're in Florida, shade matters! There is also a huge grassy area in case you want to throw a ball or just let your child run around and blow off steam. Whatever floats your boat. Once my child starts walking I'm sure we will be back many times.

This meant that on hot summer days we could play without overheating quickly. Recently my visits have been to the softball fields and not to the park. Before Covid shit everything down, they appeared to be in the process of updating it. During the winter and early spring I participate in a softball league that plays at the fields located at the back of this complex. The fields are always well maintained and ready to go when we show up to play. Only once or twice in my four years playing has something happened that caused a delay. The manager of the fields was there and was able to quickly rectify it. The complex also features a skate park, a dog park, and soccer fields. They also have large mixed use fields located under the lights.

There are a couple huge open spaces which work for pickup soccer games. The Community Center also has a huge baseball/softball field with lights. I've played many a game under those lights. Definitely no complaints there. Beyond the fence in the outfield is another huge open area where we've practiced softball. There are also football goalposts set up and I've seen a number of midget teams practicing there. The community center also offers public bathrooms. These are nothing special but they are always stocked with toilet paper and have running water. There is also a water fountain (if needed). The final piece of the puzzle is a small, one basket, basketball court. If you are into sports, looking for a playground or just a place to sit under the tree, the Land O' Lakes community center might just do the trick.

There's plenty of shade over the playground and benches for parents. The newly opened splash pad was a hit with my kids. Plenty of shaded seating for parents and bathrooms are nearby. Don't forget to pack snacks for the kids (please clean up after your family), sunscreen and reusable water bottles. Not as crowded before 12 pm.
