Seriously, if there is a place or person that watches kids in South Brunswick, I have interviewed them and might have even sent my girls there. We were lucky and had some good situations for daycare for our daughters over the years but we were never 100% thrilled with where they were. Of course, no one is going to love and care for your child the way that you do, so you become critical of things. Well, that all changed when we found The Montessori Learning House. Debbie Starinski is amazing, she runs her school with pride and love....you can feel it! All the of staff members are so sweet with the kids. Currently, 2 of my girls go to the school. Jo is in the preschool and Franki is in the toddler program. They are learning so much! Every day they come home with new work and art projects. Franki is speaking so much too. Everyday she has more words and sentences added to her speech! The school also uses an app that the teachers use to let parents know how the day went and what the kids did all day. I love the app!! Communication is a huge component to making me happy about childcare and Debbie and the teachers are great at it. There has never been a moment that I felt "in the dark" about what was going on at the school. The teachers and before/after care staff is so sweet and caring. There are times that I come to pick up the girls and Franki will be sitting on the after care teachers lap giggling...just so happy! They are always smiling when they are dropped off and when they get picked up. Mrs Allen told me that it was taking Franki some time getting used to sleeping on a cot. So she sits with her and rubs her back until she falls asleep...I seriously almost cried! Instead of just scolding her for not sleeping, they took the time to help her adjust to her new situation! Another person mentioned that the school is closed a few days a year for in service days...this is very common with not only private schools but people that do daycare out of their homes as well. What the person failed to mention is that this is one of the VERY FEW schools that is open on school holidays. In the past I have had to find placement for my girls on school holidays...I didn't have off but they did! This school is open the week of Spring Break and Christmas Break. They are also open on Holidays like Martin Luther King day....a lot of schools are closed! As a working parent, I don't mind the schedule they have...I actually love it! I keep coming back because of the curriculum and because the well being of the children and staff is a top priority here. They have become an extension of my family. My 18 mo old just started this week in Ms. Allen's class and is having a tough transition. Ms. Allen holds him until he is acclimated and everyday when I come to pick him up he is sitting in her lap. It warms my heart how loving and caring she is with him as he struggles to separate from me. I have even sat in the office to watch him on the screen and she encourages him to be independent but is still loving in how she speaks to him. Each day I get the update on his and my daughter's progress (she is in the PreK program) in an email and on the app, but Ms. Allen also takes the time to update me, very honestly, on what went well and what didn't go well for him each day. Teachers don't always take the time to do that, but she knew that my son and I were adjusting during this first week and she did what she could to help us transition. My 4 year old daughter is now in her third year at this school. I loved my experience here and any time one of the parents voiced a concern about something, the school addressed it, including adding the daily reports, shifting staff, and even adding flexible hours for parents who need it. Mrs. Crandall is wonderful with the preschoolers. My daughter is learning social skills in addition to academics. She has the kids shake hands and make eye contact as they leave. She does this with each child, excusing them one at a time, to make sure they get the individual attention needed. I also have every confidence that she will be reading before she starts KG this fall. My older 2 were also reading at 4 years old, before they started KG in public school. Again, this is a school that has just recently offered daycare hours, due to parent request. This is not a standard daycare. With that in mind, there is a focus on education and enrichment and they have to follow school schedules and rules. I feel badly about the one other reviewer's experience. It's not easy when our child is struggling and needs some type of disciplinary attention. But, like any other school, they have to watch out for the other children and for the teachers. If a child is hitting, there are a few options they try but if the behavior doesn't stop, the child has to be taken out of class. They have to do it because otherwise you are putting the other children at risk.

We enrolled our daughter in the Nido classroom (infant) at Guidepost Kendall Park at the tender age…read moreof 4 months. As first time parents, we were extremely nervous to put our infant in daycare. We were new to the area and selected the school because it was within a 13 min drive to our home. We had no idea what to expect and just prayed that everything would work out. From day 1, we were struck by the remarkable level of care and attention provided by the teachers, known as "guides." These guides have shaped our daughter's early life with their boundless patience (with us), kindness, and genuine devotion to each child's unique development -- (Shout out to Ms. Vijaya, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Manisha, Ms. Fozia). Along with all the extensive training they go through, most of the guides are parents to young children themselves. They were able to help us navigate being first time parents and what to expect with our daughter's milestones, etc. During pickup, they would say, "Charlotte looks like she is ready to start walking in the next week or so" and like clockwork, she started walking. I would have never known the signs of readiness without the help of the knowledgeable guides.  The transparency and responsiveness of the administrators, Dr. Ali (Head of School) and Ms. Stephanie (Assistant Head of School) has been a constant source of reassurance for us. Dr. Ali and Ms. Stephanie know everyone's name (parents included) and the goingabouts in each classroom. We also regularly see them playing with the children because they genuinely care about the students.  As for the "montessori philosophy," I just thought it was another gimmick. But I was wrong! Our daughter's time at Guidepost Kendall Park has been marked by independence, curiosity, and a love for learning. Each day she comes home having learned a new skill (e.g., completing complex puzzles, drinking out of a tiny cup on her own, knowing how to put her toys away, doing the hand motions to "the itzy bitzy spider," etc.). I know she did not learn that stuff from us and I believe that not all daycares have the structure in place that enables children to learn these skills. To sum it up, Guidepost Kendall Park has given our daughter the best possible start in life, and for that, we're immensely grateful. Unfortunately, we are moving out of state and have to leave Guidepost Kendall Park at the end of the month. We will be transferring to another Guidepost school (which Dr. Ali and Ms. Stephanie helped facilitate). We can only hope the new school will be as great as the Kendall Park school.

If I Could Give Kiddie Academy of North Brunswick More Than 5 Stars, I Would…read more I don't normally write reviews this long, but after our daughter's preschool orientation today, I felt compelled to share our family's experience with Kiddie Academy of North Brunswick. This isn't based on one visit--our daughter has been part of the Kiddie Academy family since she was 14 months old, and our younger son now attends as well. When it came time for our daughter to transition into preschool through the township, keeping her at Kiddie Academy was incredibly important to us. Thankfully, Michele from the township helped make that possible so she could remain at the school she already knows and loves. As two full-time working parents who depend on before- and after-care, having a place where we genuinely trust the people caring for our children is priceless. If staying at Kiddie Academy hadn't worked out through the township, we honestly would have continued paying privately rather than move her. That's how strongly we feel about this school. Our son only started last week. This morning, my wife and I arrived around 8:10 AM, well before the 9:00 AM orientation, because we wanted time to speak with his teacher about how he was adjusting. One thing we love is the camera access. We've seen that our son is understandably having a difficult time adjusting to a new environment, but we've also watched how incredibly patient, loving, and attentive his teachers have been. Watching someone comfort your child when you aren't there tells you everything about the people you've trusted them with. And then there is Ms. Jay. In such a short time, she has become his friend, comfort, and protector--and apparently sometimes his preferred parent . Last week, he actually wanted Ms. Jay instead of me! As a father, you can't be offended; you appreciate how safe and loved your child must feel for that bond to develop. Ms. Ashleigh, the Director, is equally exceptional--sweet, patient, professional, and someone who treats these children almost as if she is a second mother to them. You can tell this isn't simply a job for her. Dr. Rick Burghli, the owner, has created something special. He goes far beyond what I'd expect from the owner of a childcare center. He holds events for children and families, introduces us to his own family, and makes parents feel like we're part of the Kiddie Academy family. Some of the experiences they create genuinely feel like a little Disney experience for the kids. And I cannot leave out Mrs. Abeer and the food! The woman is fantastic. Our daughter actually craves her meals . When your child comes home excited about what the school chef made, they're doing something right! I also want to mention something from today's orientation because reviews should be fair and based on firsthand experience. We were physically there before orientation began. During that time, we understood staff was waiting for another family experiencing an issue completing the township's registration/medical clearance requirements. From what was explained at the school, these were township requirements, not rules Kiddie Academy simply decided to impose. Despite the situation, the Academy offered to accommodate the family separately with a private tour and, when that didn't work out, another opportunity to reschedule. I won't speak for another family's experience because I wasn't part of their private conversations. I can only speak to what I personally witnessed and our family's years of experience. What I witnessed was a school trying to follow required procedures while still offering alternatives to accommodate a family. That is consistent with the Kiddie Academy we have known for years. We've recommended Kiddie Academy to multiple friends. Some chose Dr. Rick's East Brunswick location because it was closer, while others joined us in North Brunswick. I would never recommend somewhere to friends for their children if I didn't completely trust that place with my own. No childcare center, teacher, director, parent--or child--is going to have a perfect day every day. What matters is the culture, how my children are treated when I'm not there, whether they're safe, loved, learning, and whether the people responsible for them genuinely care. After years with Kiddie Academy, I can confidently say the answer to all of those questions is yes. To Dr. Rick, Ms. Ashleigh, Ms. Jay, Mrs. Abeer, the teachers, and the entire Kiddie Academy of North Brunswick team: thank you for loving our children, caring for them, teaching them, feeding them (apparently better than we do ), and giving two working parents peace of mind every day. You don't just operate a daycare or preschool. You've created a community our children consider a second home--and we're incredibly grateful to be part of it.

The problems at this school began when the previous head of school, Mr. James, left. Since Mr. James left we have experienced the following: 1. The School LOST our child - On one occasion, our child left her classroom and the school did not know where she was. To make it worse, they never informed us about the incident and had to learn about it from another parent whose child left the classroom with my child. I was told by other parents that this was not a singular event. After the incident, the school (after refusing my request to fire the teacher) agreed to never assign that teacher to supervise my child ever again. This agreement lasted for several months until the school started assigning that teacher to watch my child again. Additionally, when I confronted the head of school about the event, he informed me that he did not tell me about the event because I was pregnant and he did not want to "upset" me. 2. TIME OUTS - My child kept complaining that a particular teacher would separate her from other kids and put her in time outs. The time outs would occur on a chair that was away from other kids. 3. TELLING/MAKING MY DAUGHTER FEEL THAT SHE IS A BAD GIRL - My child told me that a particular teacher tells her that she is a "bad girl". 4. TICKS - The playground is full of ticks. After finding two giant ticks on my child, I informed the school of the problem. They did not respond to my email or treat the playground for ticks. Since then, I have learned that other children have also come home with lots of ticks. 5. DEPOSIT - When I informed the school that I was leaving, the school told me that they would be returning my entire deposit. I believe they did this due to my experience and to deter me from speaking out against them. Well...low and behold, I never received the deposit and when I confronted the school several months after I left, I was told that they never said that they would be returning my money despite me having the emails to prove it. The school's (almost) saving grace are Ms. Puja, Ms. Savi, and Ms. Varshini, who are caring teachers. Unfortunately, the administration's incompetence and carelessness is too much to overcome. If you are interested in a Montessori education, I have heard good things about the Guidepost Lawrenceville location. Just please for your mental health and your children's safety DO NOT enroll them in the Princeton Meadows school.

Despite multiple conversations, written documentation, and coordination with her therapists--including Early Intervention providers visiting the school--the staff consistently failed to meet her basic safety needs. On her final day, I discovered she had been given water by a teacher who was unaware of her feeding plan. My child has documented swallowing difficulties and is not permitted to drink water at daycare. I received two completely different explanations from staff: one teacher (Ms. Subarna) claimed in writing that she had not been given water at all, while another (Ms. Corrine) told me she had. After I raised the concern, the Brightwheel log was altered to remove the mention of water. This wasn't just a mistake--it was a serious communication breakdown with conflicting accounts and document tampering. Before I even arrived to pick her up, I watched via the classroom camera as my child picked up another child's water bottle, put it in her mouth, then handed it back. No adult was present at the table. She could have choked or aspirated. No one informed me of this--I saw it myself. The administrators later admitted it happened and described it as "unacceptable" and promised to retrain staff. But that's not good enough when you're talking about a child's medical safety. This was not an isolated issue. On another occasion, I watched via the cameras as my child was left unsupervised at a table with another child who had a cracker. She took the cracker and put it in her mouth. At the time, she did not eat solids and this posed a clear choking hazard. No one notified me--it was something I discovered on my own. Incidents like this were repeated and avoidable, and reflect a serious failure of basic supervision protocols. Throughout our time there, we experienced: * Staff regularly failing to follow her feeding therapy plan * Teachers giving her bottles after purée against clear written instructions * Another child sleeping on her crib sheet, and her sleeping on another child's bedding * Ongoing lack of support despite her being diagnosed with global developmental delays * Frequent turnover of teachers, many of whom were unfamiliar with her accommodations * Repeated miscommunications, lack of consistency, and disregard for therapist recommendations Even more troubling, the head teacher of the infant classroom repeatedly told me my child was meeting her milestones--despite our child receiving Early Intervention services and having a formal diagnosis of global developmental delay. After I shared the findings of her speech-language pathologist, this teacher admitted they have "more information and training for toddlers not meeting milestones," and that they "don't have much training on infants with delays." That is unacceptable. That is their job. They are entrusted with the care and developmental monitoring of infants, and this admission reveals a lack of basic preparedness and staff training that puts children at risk. When I brought these concerns to the director, Ms. Krupa, I was told there are "tons of other great schools in Plainsboro." Rather than taking immediate responsibility, I was subtly encouraged to find a better fit. That's exactly what I did. This will be documented with the state. My child should not have had to be the reason they finally decided to 'do better.' If your child has special needs, medical concerns, or requires any accommodations--I urge you to look elsewhere. I hope no other child gets hurt before real changes are made.

We are amazed to see how Ms. Geetha cares for each and every child. We have our peace of mind knowing that our daughter is in good hands. TLE West Windsor is doing their best in this crisis situation. They strictly follow all the CDC guidelines and try to make it a safe place for everyone. We visited the center and were impressed by it for sure as it was neat , clean , big , digital screen, main street usa and all. But unfortunately the most important part of the whole experience - the toddler classroom teacher/caretaker was not so good. We first met her when she came to Directors office while we were there for our tour appointment and she was staring at our kids weirdly [ so much and so long ] that even the director Ms. Geetha had to ask her why is she staring like that. We ignored at that point , and then I scheduled a play date before I get my kids enrolled. During our tour [ we had taken our kids for it] we went to the toddler classroom. kids were still getting up from their nap. but I saw almost no interaction from her with them and there was another helper Bhoomi who was doing it all. during our play date, just before we enter the classroom with kids we saw she just picked up the box full of blocks [ I suspect that she got notified that we are coming to room] and just emptied it on floor [without even bending down]. Again there was just no conversation with any of the kids there what so ever.. not even come lets play, lets build blocks etc.. kids started playing on their own. then while we were there another parent came to pick up her kid and again there was no hello or any conversation initiated by her until the parent ask her about how did her child do today. and I was surprised to see her response on the question.. she just said that the toddler still takes off her shoe [nothing about what did she do through out the day] and that's it. on top of it, we still thought that let the kids play for some time and we waited outside to see how good they are feeling with the place. then we waited in the Directors office , where within 5 mins we heard and saw them crying on the tv installed in directors office. we still waited for another few mins before rushing to classroom, as we thought that teacher will make some attempt to calm the kids and literally there was hardly any and she immediately called us to come and get them. and she said that they were playing well [ which we were seeing the tv from office], an one put something in mouth, where she asked to take that out, and the kid started crying. then we just came out and in spite of all great things about the center we decided not to opt for the same atleast till my toddler goes to next class or at least the teacher is changed. We went to some other classrooms where elder kids were there and we found them and teacher enjoying and learning on the digital screen. I would definitely vote for this center apart from toddler class.
