A small but well stocked shop which I found by accident today. The staff are friendly and well…read moreinformed and knowledgeable. They had the very camera lens I was looking for and I was able to fit it onto my camera and try it out for a while. It's possible to trade in cameras and lenses as they buy and sell secondhand equipment as well as selling brand new.

Having once been a `pro` J&A customer my feelings could not have changed more dramatically…read more Beware ! despite claiming to be a small & friendly `local` business, they have been very quick to claim that their website prices are completely seperate from their instore prices. Do not be fooled by their `price watch` signs instore or the salesman telling you that the instore prices are as good as you can get. We bought a pair of binoculars from them for £99.99 only to get home to find them on their website for £79.99 plus £10 p&p. On phoning later the same day as purchasing, initially I was told the store knew nothing about it ! , then that the website should have said `web exclusive` & then that many businesses operate websites with different prices to their stores. After many many calls & unreturned messages I eventually spoke to the M.D. of J&A Cameras who continued the `website is a seperate entity `line, and by now the website listing for the binoculars had been changed to `web exclusive`- funny that ! Ultimately I was offered a £10 voucher from him which I politely refused as he obviously needs it more than I do. DON`T BE FOOLED - THEY ARE AS MERCENARY AS THE REST - SHOP AROUND & IF NEED BE USE THE WEBSITE AS IT`S THE ONLY WAY TO TRULY `PRICE WATCH` AS THEY SAY.
