It turns out Material World has been here long before the Nora District sprang up. Material World is owned by Rachelle Tenace. Although the showroom is small, there is a carefully curated selection of colorful dresses, jewelry, pillows, sandals, hats, scarves, and other unique items from world wide artisans. Rachelle also sells some of her own handmade jewelry. In the back is Rachelle's custom fabric businesses and she purchases her material also mainly from overseas. She sells the fabric to wholesalers who in turn sell to interior designers. Everything in this cute shop is so colorful, bright, and cheerful. Purchases made through Material World help to support struggling artists around the world. I love how you can purchase something for yourself or as a gift and help someone else at the same time.

This is my kind of shop!!! I enjoyed the hats, bags, jewelry, sandals, hair scrunchies, and all of those fabulous decorating ideas that popped up on her screen. Everything was very unusual and truly one of a kind. This is what I want my home to reflect all of the beautiful special places I've been. She has information about all of the international artisans and has made a personal connection with them. I have a new shop to purchase gifts from and I am thrilled. Rachelle has a vision to expand and do events; I will be back!

It is along the stretch of Worth Ave where most of the premium brands and their stores are. You may park either in a public lot or find a pay-for spot on the street. For the latter, it is better to try to go before the stores open for a good spot. (As you can pay for the amount of time you wish to spend there and walk along all of the shops during your visit.) The racks were labeled clearly with various designers or collections, such as Chanel Edit, Special Occasion, etc. The clothes curated there for that location were more fitting to Palm Beach, as I saw more warmer weather styles, vibrant colors, and fun prints. The location has a couple of displays of luxury handbags, some watches and jewelry, and a few accessories and shoes, along with the racks of clothing. Prices do vary based on condition, designer, and time the piece has been available. The staff were kind to check or share that you can scan the tags for any of the pieces for more information with their app and you can see if there are discounts available for items. In addition to selling consignment items, they will take items for consignment in the shop. I saw some clients stopping in to drop off items to be consigned and listed. I did try some pieces on, but didn't purchase as I was not 100% in love with the items once I tried them on or looked them over. Overall, this is a fun location to stop into. The staff here were more friendly and approachable, which helped to make the experience a pleasant one.

I bought a cute pair of pants from White House Black Market. My friend got a couple of shirts from Under Armour. Make sure to ask for a healthcare provider discount. Parking was easy. All I did was unfold a T-shirt, and the associate immediately confronted me and yelled. His tone and attitude were so aggressive that I genuinely felt harassed. Feeling harassed, I reported the situation to the manager. I went to the manager expecting at least basic professionalism, but the situation somehow got worse. He didn't apologize, didn't take responsibility, and instead whispered something to the associate before telling me the employee was autistic as if that excused everything and as if my experience didn't matter at all. It felt dismissive and disrespectful. Also, when I reacted with shock because who expects to be yelled at for looking at a shirt at a clothing store? the autistic associate even insinuated I was stupid simply because I was dumbfounded by how he was speaking to me. That was completely unacceptable. The manager was present at this point Let me be absolutely clear: The associate's behavior was the problem. His actions toward me were unacceptable and made me feel harassed, regardless of any diagnosis. That is why I went to the manager in the first place. What concerns me most is the manager's failure to address the inappropriate behavior or take any corrective action. Management has a duty to maintain a safe and respectful environment for customers and to ensure staff are properly trained and supervised. Dismissing my complaint and offering no resolution reflects a lack of proper oversight and raises serious questions about the store's adherence to basic standards of customer protection and professional conduct.
