But, I have…read morecorroboration, TimesHigherEducation.com just ranked NYU in its top 25 universities in the world. Take a look at the other top 24 -- NYU is in elite company for academic excellence. It was just that stature that drew me to get my degrees there in the first place. Washington Square is a wonderful, safe, progressive community. It was surrounded by mom & pop eating spots that students could afford and the best vegetarian/vegan food anywhere. My classes were small enough for me to get personalized attention. My graduate advisor, Lloyd Barenblatt, was a star in our field and a caring, brilliant advisor from whom I took continuous inspiration. I will always be indebted to him for seeing my potential as a researcher and scholar. Whenever I needed a break, I could head uptown to all the glorious offerings that Manhattan is famous for. Or, I could spend the day in Bobst Library, to this day, the finest collection of written materials in the United States. Nearby are the historic buildings of lower Manhattan, along with the 9/11 Memorial complex. Just above legendary Greenwich Village which encompasses the NYU campus, sits vibrant new Hudson Yards. You can walk to a panoply of ethnic conclaves from elegant Washington Square. Music, art, fashion, education -- no city on earth offers more than New York, and NYU puts that at the students' disposal, around the clock. Is NYU expensive, is the area limited in terms of housing, yes. But, so are Harvard, Yale, and Stanford in whose company NYU counts itself as a superlative academic bastion of learning. However, affordable housing is just across the river in East Orange, NJ, which is where I spent my first two years. Also, Atlantic Highlands, NJ is just a water-shuttle of about 40 minutes away. I lived there too and finally was awarded housing at 110 Bleecker, with an 18th floor apartment overlooking lower Manhattan. NYU takes care of its graduate students. If I had anywhere to choose for my education, all over again, NYU would be my only choice. Thank you, New York University for all you have done for me.

I must say it was not always smooth sailing, but no place is perfect. My professors held me accountable for doing my part, they are smart, dedicated and approachable. I have put in the work that my professors set out for me, as every student should, and accomplished what I set out to do. See for yourself, and remember this is a school that is preparing you to have a professional career, think critically and make wise choices In life, if this is not your goal then, this is not the school for you. Nursing is a vocation, it's not a walk in the park. With self discipline, hard work and perseverance you can have your degree at St. Paul's School of Nursing In several months.

As a current student, I feel it's important to share some concerns about the way this school treats…read moreits students. Recently, we received an email stating that students are not permitted to enter classrooms before the scheduled class time so that instructors can "prepare the learning environment." However, in reality, many professors arrive exactly at the start time or even after class is supposed to begin. Meanwhile, students are expected to stand in hallways or find somewhere else to go even when we arrive early after work to study. The only alternative spaces are the library or cafeteria, both of which have very limited seating. It feels unreasonable to pay out of pocket for an education and not even be allowed to sit in an empty classroom while waiting. We then received another email about elevator use, which is understandable for accessibility reasons. However, the message stated that misuse could result in parent/guardian contact. This is a school of adults, and many of us are parents ourselves. Including language like that clearly shows how little the administration thinks of its students and reinforces the feeling that we are treated like children rather than responsible adults paying for a professional education. Another major concern is the lack of respect and support from some faculty members. For example, Professor Jayne Kier is extremely unapproachable. Students feel uncomfortable asking questions because responses are often sarcastic, dismissive, or met with long, intimidating stares. There is little guidance provided, yet students are made to feel as though they are wrong for seeking help. This creates a stressful and discouraging learning environment. Lastly, it often feels like students cannot safely voice concerns. When issues are brought up to administration, they are dismissed as complaints rather than taken seriously even though many of us are committed, adult learners who care deeply about our education and future careers. It is incredibly disappointing to be treated this way as paying adult students. We invest our time, energy, and money into this program, yet we are treated as if we are receiving a free service and should simply accept it without question. The tone and treatment are not only disrespectful, they are humiliating.

The room had no heat and complaints fell on deaf ears from security to the dorm advisor. As others have said, the administration is poor. She hasn't been able to reach her advisor for months. For the past 97 years, the school has been horning its original educational mission and helping countless students achieving their career success. Zicklyn School of Business ranks #55 nationally and #1 public business school in New York (Wikipedia). Unfortunately, due to lower application rate, thanks to the lowest unemployment rate, recently, the school downgraded its MBA program from 57 credit requirement (allows students to pick 1-2 majors) to 45-credits. The new 45-credit "package" not only tarnishes the fame of Zicklyn's MBA Program, it also depreciates the value of many former 57-credit MBA graduates's diploma. My prediction for the next few years, is that this school would probably replace traditional in-class lectures with more online sessions. That would be a real shame. Pros: City campus, many nearby good restaurants and fun places to hangout during class breaks or after. Perfect locations for PT MBA to come for class after work. Some tenured professors tend to not following the stupid bell-curve rule, instead honoring hard working students the grades they deserve. People from the MBA administration are perhaps the nicest and most responsive. Cons: Bathrooms in the older building are absolutely worse than those from Central Park. The gym is so outdated and small. You will have to fight for a treadmill. School mandates each student to pay $100 printing fee, regardless the student needs it or not. It's a robbery. People sitting in the office of registrar are mean and lack of any kind of motivation for helping students. They NEVER pick up the phone so don't bother calling. Expect a super long wait in the Bursar office, even there were only few students on the line. They don't pick up the phone, neither. Lately, the curriculums for summer sessions are garbages--nothing useful to select. Security guards by the entrances are rude and think they are Heimdall from Thor, LOL
