I was waiting to do this review in the end. But it's about time. I had a really good experience. It's a little bit confusing in the beginning but your counselor will help you figure it out. I might have to come back to edit this review or add more details. I had the best counselor Ash***, Eliz**** and Jenn. Best people to work with. I have an international background, they really helped me 360*, I mean the admin people go above and beyond to make things possible for you, to succeed. I have had the best experience here. The teachers are the best as well. This is not even exaggeration because I had classes with them. They help you in most flexible way possible. Most of them are charges nurses and providers and doctors. This is an awesome school. Might be over charging a bit, but if you get the aid then what else matters. They will enable you to get your certification and earn more money anyways. I really had done the whole math on it. This is one of the best options around. Went to the Albany campus. Saw the ad on Facebook, filled out my info and got the email the next day to come in and take the TEAS for nursing. They are quick with everything. They are available Saturday n Sunday, no playing games. You do have to put in the work though. They have strict policies and they do follow it to the bone, especially with nursing. I respect the teachers and it shows. Some students don't respect the teachers and they were ready to yell at the teachers and admin. To each its own. As a student, you do have to put in the work and show up for the classes , there is no shortcut to school and if you think you can turn them around and not do the work, it might not end up good for you. read more

I don't even know where to start. Mildred Elley is an absolute joke of an institution. I was lucky enough to be given a scholarship from Caring Gene for ME's LPN program - I felt so lucky! (foreshadowing here) My first 3 semesters went swimmingly, until my Summer 1 semester that started in July. Students were not made aware the ME lost all of their LPN educators (we had to find out by word of mouth) ... us students were left with no teachers! ME came up with the brilliant idea to scramble up whatever "teachers" they could find to teach these classes from MA, Long Island, etc. This is nursing school, y'all... we were left to self-teach ourselves, online, from home, how to be nurses. When the students expressed our concerns to administration and our "teachers", administration never responded and our "teachers" would tell us to "calm down", "take it down a notch", "start thinking like adults". After 2 weeks of going from a straight A student on the President's List, I found myself failing my classes... not because I'm a bad student, but because I never agreed to self-teach myself how to become a nurse! I don't know what I'm doing, that's why I signed up for college!! When I finally had enough, I reached out to Caring Gene, my scholarship rep, I informed them about what is going on at ME and I asked if my scholarship is able to transfer to another institution. Unfortunately, ME is the only school that Caring Gene works with. BUT! Caring Gene was already made aware of the disarray at ME. My rep let me know that ME intentionally took on too many LPN students to obtain the extra funding. When the LPN staff quit, it left ME up the creek without a paddle - letting the students suffer. I don't know where to begin. At first I thought wow this could be really worth it, and as time went on I started to notice staff quitting, student needs not being met, no clear communication, inadequate teaching, and plenty more. Even with one place refusing to continue the relationship for clinicals and the school scrambling to find another. They try to drag out student courses even though they claim to be "accelerated". You take 2 classes every 8 weeks and no summer breaks like a normal 2 year college. If your looking to get a degree as an MA or LPN, I would 100% recommend you search other schools out. The "dean" is one of the teachers, but she seems unable to keep any teachers around for more than a couple modules, which is why I guess she's teaching. The librarians give help that is often at odds with what the teachers say. There were students who couldn't write or read too well, or have some serious emotional problems, or had poor English language skills. Best advice - go to a state community college. You want to get robbed thousands of dollars for a dream they sell to you? Come to Mildred Elley where they accept people who don't have the eligible reading level. I graduated from here in 2020 and I still feel like how I was the first day of classes, lost. They kept flaunting how they have an above average passing rate for the nclex, while they hire basically substitutes to teach classes. What I mean is their teachers and personnel is below average. And what do I mean by substitutes? Well heres an example. The now fired professor Ms.Huber, was teaching a pharmacology course where no matter how many times you go to their tutorings or reviews, and no matter how many times you study, you will still fail the quizzes and even the final exam like me and 11 other students in my class did. Which lead to that teachers job loss. Guess what though? They didn't blame the teachers, they obviously blamed the students. While they don't hold the teachers accountable and blaming the students for their failures, they take more money from the students and put them in more debts. Last but not least, the online simulated clinicals. Other institutions such as Hudson Valley, Saint Rose, Maria Colleges, even BOCES can do in person clinicals at actual sites while Mildred Elley students do everything virtual. It's like you can go on youtube and learn how to be a nurse for FREE! It's like hypothetically I can learn how to be a brain surgeon without the actual in person experience I can just learn on a simulated platform and perform my first one in real life. The school enrolls students who are not capable of the work and signs them up for loans they'll never get jobs to repay. High turnover in staff. They go through deans and department heads like a revolving door. The floor the school is located on is often filled with students yelling at each other or the staff, kids in the study area, students disruptive in class, and the credits aren't fully transferrable because an 8-week course is not the same as one that lasts a full semester. If you transfer to a two-year school you'll just end up retaking courses you took at Mildred Elley, so you might as well start there. read more

I would honestly tell not a single soul to waste their time with this school. They will give you false hope and then turn around and screw you in the end and make you feel like absolute crap, not to mention lie to you until the second day of school. I do not ever write reviews but to be lied too and deceived is absolutely horrible. I work my butt off full time and then the head of the department of financial aid proceeded to tell me there is no reason I shouldn't be able to pay 264 a month ( during school) because he had a 500 truck payment and could do it. If I was to say one good thing about the school it is my admissions rep was absolutely amazing and she is at no fault for what they put me through. I would never, ever bash people the way I am but my hopes and dreams were crushed and now I must start over and look elsewhere after being so excited to follow my dreams. read more

I am very pleased on what MIldred-Elley has done for me. The teachers there have taken their time to make sure that everyone in the class understands the lesson. The staff is always willing to help you when needed. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to further their education. read more
